“Saint Laia Academy, Yike, have you heard of it?”
Lin Sheng looked at the signature on the Envelope, asking Yike uncertainly.
The name sounded familiar, but Lin Sheng couldn’t recall where he had heard it.
“What? Saint Laia! Woc, Old Lin, are you serious?”
Yike, who had been nonchalant, lost all composure at Lin Sheng’s question, squeezing next to him as if to snatch the letter from his hand.
“Here, take it, take it. Don’t be so eager.”
After taking the Envelope, Yike didn’t open it immediately, but instead examined the packaging closely.
“This texture, this Seal, no doubt about it. This is Saint Laia’s Envelope. Old Lin, how much virtue did your ancestors accumulate?”
“Is Saint Laia that impressive?”
Lin Sheng didn’t really understand any of this, but he knew Yike had seen the world, so seeing Yike’s reaction, he felt this might really be something extraordinary.
“Old Lin, Old Lin, this isn’t something that can be explained as impressive or not. You just need to know that Saint Laia is the world’s top girls’ school. Students here are either rich or noble, and after graduating, they hold important positions; it’s undoubtedly the cradle of social elites!”
Yike grew more and more excited, finally even grabbing Lin Sheng’s shoulders and shaking him.
“And now, you, Lin Sheng, actually received a letter from Saint Laia. Do you know what this means?”
“What does it mean?”
Yike’s expression made Lin Sheng a bit scared. His fanatic look made Lin Sheng wonder if he was truly ignorant after all.
“It means, if you put it up for sale, this letter alone could fetch a high price among some Collectors, got it?”
“Got it, got it.”
Lin Sheng might not understand those high-end things, but when it came to money, he was more than familiar.
“Hey, hey, hey, you’re not really thinking of selling it for cash, are you?”
Sensing Lin Sheng’s gaze was a bit too fiery, Yike quickly took the letter out of Lin Sheng’s sight.
“Yike, what kind of person do you think I am? I just fully realize how precious this letter is.”
“Really?”
Yike still seemed uncertain, not quite believing Lin Sheng.
“Of course it’s true. At worst, I’ll sell it after reading the letter. That should be enough time, right?”
“Tsk, I knew it.”
Yike’s expression was filled with undisguised disdain, but perhaps considering the letter was meant for Lin Sheng, Yike finally handed it back.
“But as a friend, I still have to remind you, while it can be sold for a good price, it depends on the Envelope being perfectly intact. Also, Old Lin, don’t forget your personal information is on the Envelope. Do you expect to erase that and still sell it?”
Yike’s words were like a bucket of cold water, extinguishing the spark in Lin Sheng’s heart.
He knew very well that Yike’s words meant he couldn’t get any profit from this letter.
If so, was there any point in opening it?
Forget it, forget it. Anyway, the letter was already in his hands.
Lin Sheng might as well see what kind of letter the so-called top girls’ school had sent him.
The Envelope’s texture was astonishingly good.
While opening it, Lin Sheng could even smell a faint fragrance.
Hmm, are all rich people’s letters this exquisite?
The letter inside was also uniquely textured—a thick parchment with intricate and beautiful golden patterns along the edges.
At the top of the letter was a crest crowned with Lily and Olive Crown—this was the Imperial Emblem of the Human Empire.
Generally speaking, this emblem carried enough legal authority on its own.
So, if Lin Sheng had been half-skeptical at first, now he had no doubts about the letter’s authenticity.
Damn, is this how rich people live?
Even a single Envelope and piece of letter paper are so luxurious.
Now Lin Sheng truly understood why Yike said Collectors would pay high prices for it.
Even without reading the content, the Envelope and letter paper alone were collectibles.
Realizing the authenticity and value of the letter, Lin Sheng’s hands trembled as he unfolded the paper.
But before he could see the words inside, a delicate yet distinct fragrance greeted him.
Perfume?
Or some special fragrance?
But to Lin Sheng, it didn’t matter.
What mattered now was reading what was written on this precious letter.

This isn’t right.
Honestly, it’s very wrong.
Although Lin Sheng’s university major was indeed literature, he knew very well that he didn’t possess any ‘unique potential’ or ‘exceptional talent,’ let alone qualify as a ‘Specially Appointed Lecturer.’
To be honest, if this letter hadn’t come from Saint Laia with the Imperial Emblem as proof, Lin Sheng would have thought it was a scam to lure him away and harvest his organs.
“Yike, I think you need to see this. Something feels off.”
“It’s definitely off.”
Yike took the letter from Lin Sheng, reading it over and over again.
“Old Lin, have you really hit a stroke of luck?”
“Are you sure it’s luck and not that I’m being targeted for organ harvesting?”
In recent years, scams like that had become all too common, making Lin Sheng a bit concerned for his own safety.
“Organ harvesting? No offense, Old Lin, but if Saint Laia really needed kidneys, with just a word there’d be countless people lining up to offer theirs. Do you really think your kidneys are unique?”
“But if it’s not for kidneys, what exactly does Saint Laia see in me? It can’t really be for so-called unique potential and exceptional talent, right?”
Putting everything else aside, Lin Sheng was honest about himself.
He knew full well he was nowhere near the standards of the Empire’s top girls’ school.
So from the very beginning, this letter felt suspicious.
“That’s why I said it’s very off, Old Lin. If you were a beautiful girl, maybe this letter would mean you’d caught the eye of some lady and got specially recruited.”
“But you’re a guy. How could a man enter Saint Laia?”
