They briefly discussed the battle plan, and it was quickly passed.
Wohard followed the plan, picked up a large stone from the corner of the corridor, and charged into the doorway.
The ambushing Demon Race immediately reacted, and three crossbow bolts shot from the darkness.
Wohard raised the stone to block the first wave of attacks.
Though he couldn’t see, he remembered the enemy positions that Sovinia had explained to him.
Wohard threw the stone, which traced an arc in the air, accurately hitting a bare-chested Demon hiding at a height.
He screamed, his head smashing against the ground, dying instantly.
Sovinia immediately charged in behind Wohard, lightly brushing her fingers on the sword hilt, calling out The Unpredictable Card Deck in her heart.

[Attack]
She frowned.
The cards were very ordinary.
‘Oh well, let’s watch the vicious dog perform first.’
So Sovinia didn’t say a word and withdrew her foot that had stepped into the room.
Only showing half her face, she watched the fight inside.
This counter-ambush was very successful.
Wohard took down three minor monsters in one go before Xuefu reacted.
He swung his dual axes and charged at Wohard.
Wohard swung his axe, cleaving through both the round shield and the hand of a shield-wielding Demon raider, then raised his battle axe to meet Xuefu’s pair of broad axes, which radiated a bloody light.
For a moment, Sovinia even doubted whether Wohard’s defense had been broken.
The battle axe and the dual broad axes clashed, producing a deafening metallic sound.
The two became locked in a melee, fighting with clanging noises.
The remaining four Demon Race, under Xuefu’s roar, picked up their weapons and prepared to attack Wohard.
The one-armed Demon roared, carrying a thick blade as it charged at Wohard for revenge, also exposing its back to Sovinia.
It was a Silver Card enemy.
‘Good opportunity.’
Sovinia stretched her long legs, took two big strides, and leaped over a distance of over three meters.
As she did so, she played [Defense] , and a thin ice shield appeared around her.
No one noticed this long-legged silver-haired elf.
Sovinia leaped and thrust, her rear hand bracing the counterweight ball, and Moonlight Blade stabbed directly into the one-armed Demon’s back, piercing through and penetrating its heart.
The one-armed Demon managed to turn around, its face hideous and hateful.
But Sovinia stepped forward and smoothly drew the blade, raising it above her head.
Moonlight Blade traced a bright silver circle above her, and using the momentum from her step and waist twist, she horizontally slashed across the one-armed Demon’s face—a swift and standard crossing strike.
Crossing strikes are often used in follow-up combos after an attack.
Its trajectory resembles a helicopter, so Sovinia named it “Helicopter Slash.”
The one-armed Demon died.
[End of Turn]
Sovinia drew a card.
[Blazing Strike +1]
[Defense]
[Defense]
The heavy footsteps of another Demon approached.
Sovinia twisted around.
She didn’t need to worry about her back because she saw from the corner of her eye that Wohard, who was locked in combat with Xuefu, was about to provide cover for her.
The Demon approaching her was the only remaining Silver Card enemy.
He was two heads taller than Sovinia, with biceps larger than her head, and he swung a huge blade to chop down.
Sovinia seized the opportunity and immediately played [Blazing Strike +1] , slashing with a rage strike.
The blade erupted in flames.
She struck after the enemy but arrived first, using the strong part of the blade near the hilt to catch the weak part of the enemy’s blade.
The sound of metal striking stone rang out.
The vibration of the sword blade transmitted to her palm, and her tiger’s mouth went numb.
She actually managed to cleave apart the bicep Demon’s attack, but that was it.
She didn’t follow through and slash the enemy, which surprised Sovinia.
‘I caught the timing so well, but this body is too weak.’
As Sovinia thought this, she smoothly thrust her sword forward.
The bicep Demon had lost his centerline earlier, but he wore a lamellar armor chest piece.
Sovinia had to raise her thrust.
The tip of Moonlight Blade followed the upper edge of the chest armor, scraping sparks, and then pierced into his neck.
The bicep Demon roared, raised his huge blade to stab Sovinia, but Sovinia had already pressed her sword down, pushing down his huge blade, not giving him room to exert force.
The bicep Demon roared again, blood spurting from his neck.
Sovinia quickly backed away, casually hacking at his huge blade once as a defense, and without another word, turned and ran.
The bicep Demon roared a third time: “Cowardly elf!”
He braved his wound and charged at Sovinia, but his back hurt, his spine nearly breaking.
Pieces of shattered lamellar armor flew everywhere.
He instantly lost strength and stumbled forward.
Sovinia stopped and shouted: “Vicious dog, good ambush!”
The bicep Demon roared a fourth time: “Despicable!”
Sovinia rushed over and gave him a sword strike to the neck, popping a card.
[End of Turn]
Third turn begins.
The remaining Demon was just a mere White Card enemy, and it died in one hit as well.
Sovinia scanned the room and saw only Xuefu and Wohard slashing at each other.
The battle between Wohard and Xuefu grew more intense.
Xuefu’s strength was immense; each axe swing carried a whistling wind.
Wohard continuously blocked or clashed, forgoing finishing moves and focusing only on injuring strikes.
But axes are not agile weapons; they are heavy and powerful, making it hard for him to precisely control damage for the time being.
Sovinia noticed a deep wound on Wohard’s shoulder.
Blood flowed down his tattered plate armor and dripped onto the ground.
His breathing also grew heavy.
But Xuefu grew stronger as he fought.
Even though he was covered in wounds, that was the nature of the Blood God’s Followers: when fighting against strong opponents, the longer the battle, the stronger their power.
Sovinia did not immediately go to help.
Instead, she opened the cards from the two Silver Card enemies.
First draw: three random cards appeared, only one Silver Card, the rest Copper Cards.
Sovinia glanced at them—none fit her current deck system.
Second draw: again three random cards.
Only one Silver Card called [Moonblade Lethal Slash] : 2 cost, Silver Card, instantly deals 3.5 times attack damage, but adds a [Weakness] .
Good card, a typical transitional card.
But with the vicious dog helping bite, why not fight for a future?
The [Slaughter] card was triggered—don’t take it.
Sovinia thought, and took no cards.
At this moment, her [Universal Unpredictable Card] became transparent.
If it’s not in battle status for a certain time, the [Universal Unpredictable Card] will reset.
Without another word, Sovinia picked up a stone and threw it at Xuefu.
The man and the bull were fighting with loud clangs, but this stone was completely ignored.
But the [Universal Unpredictable Card] was no longer transparent.
Xuefu took another axe blow, blood dripping.
Wohard shouted: “Sovinia!”
Sovinia held her sword in a defensive stance and said: “Hang in there!”
She was waiting, waiting for a perfect opportunity, waiting for [Double Strike] [Blazing Strike +1] .
Although that had been a good opportunity, if she got hit, of course she would use her sword to parry and deflect, but what if she didn’t block it?
If she didn’t block, she could be directly severely injured or die.
Then she could only make the vicious dog suffer.
[End of Turn]
Fourth turn begins.
Sovinia threw a stone.
[End of Turn]
Fifth turn begins.
Sovinia threw a stone, hitting Xuefu on the tip of his nose.
Her stone throwing was getting more accurate.
Maybe later she could develop a stone-throwing style card deck, call it the Kimi Stone Throwing Style.
[End of Turn]
Sixth turn begins.
Xuefu fell to the ground.
Wohard raised his huge axe and shouted: “Sovinia!”
“Hang in there!”
Wohard could only strike with the axe back.
Xuefu got up and continued fighting.
Sovinia threw another stone.
She felt like she was playing a stone-throwing game, except the stake was the vicious dog’s HP.
