Su Ling’s body pressed tightly against his master, eyes closed shut. Suddenly, his waist tightened, and his body went rigid. He raised his head, looking at his master with tearful eyes.
“Little thing, you’re really good-looking.”
Su Ling’s face flushed bright red. He quickly lowered his head, not wanting his master to see his embarrassment.
“Do you like me?”
Su Ling nodded without a second thought. But after nodding, he couldn’t help but think.
‘What is liking?’
“Little thing.”
Su Ling snapped back to reality and dismissed the thought. Gu Qingyuan lifted his chin, gazing into his clear, pure eyes. Those eyes seemed to hold a kind of magic; just looking at them made dark desires stir within one’s heart! She wanted to press him down and bully him harshly, watch him struggle, watch him cry, watch him beg for mercy!
Thinking of this, Gu Qingyuan swallowed hard. Suddenly, with a burst of strength, she lifted the little thing up! His body was delicate, and she carried him with ease. Su Ling was startled for a moment, but quickly calmed down. He looked at his master, biting his lip, a hint of tearfulness from just waking up at the corners of his eyes.
“Little thing, I want to play something different. Is that okay?”
Su Ling blinked his innocent big eyes, filled with confusion. Gu Qingyuan stroked his head, smiled gently, and carefully set him aside.
“Wait for me. I’ll go get something!”
Su Ling nodded, his eyes following his master as she left the room. After Gu Qingyuan left, Su Ling turned to look out the window. Outside, the sky was somewhat dark, with no sun. The air carried a hint of damp moisture, as if it might rain.
Gu Qingyuan hummed a little tune and walked briskly to a room. The room was a bit dusty. She rummaged through it carefully before finding what she was looking for.
Su Ling looked at the outdoor scenery for a while, then withdrew his gaze and stared blankly out of boredom. Seeing that his master hadn’t returned, his gaze unconsciously fell on his own legs. The one remaining leg was slender and long, skin as white as jade, with faintly visible delicate red blood vessels beneath. But the other leg was only half there, cleanly severed at the knee.
Su Ling bit his lip, his eyes turning slightly wet. So much time had passed, and he still couldn’t accept the fact that he had lost a leg. Compared to that, being mute was something he could accept a bit more.
‘Elder Sister…’
Sometimes Su Ling really wanted to confront his sister and ask her why she did this to him. Was it because he had taken her place? But he hadn’t wanted this either.
“Little thing, why are you crying?”
Hearing the voice, Su Ling immediately snapped back and wiped his eyes. But his eyes were still red, and he curled up, looking like a sad little rabbit.
“Tell me why you’re crying.”
Su Ling opened his mouth, then remembered—he had forgotten that he could no longer speak. He fell silent for a moment, then slowly picked up the pen and paper beside him and began to write.
> (I was thinking of Elder Sister.)
After writing those five characters, Su Ling stopped. Not because he was done, but because he didn’t know how to continue. What was he thinking about Elder Sister? Thinking about why she cut off his leg, or why she poisoned him mute? Sadness, grievance, confusion about why his sister would treat him like this?
None of these seemed to be quite right, but they weren’t entirely wrong either. He just felt sad, but he didn’t know how to write that down. Emotions are sometimes hard to describe even with words, let alone a few lines of text. So for the moment, he simply didn’t know what to write.
When Gu Qingyuan saw him stop, she thought he had finished. She came closer and saw those five characters! Those five words were like a brand, crashing straight into her mind, instantly filling her thoughts with those five words!
‘Think of her? Think of Ye Moran?! Hah!’
In an instant, a nameless rage surged from the bottom of her heart. She had thought that after being sent out for a while, the little thing had learned to behave, become obedient, and turned into her possession! But today, this possession of hers was actually thinking of someone else?!
‘She will not allow it! If he is her thing, then his mind should be full of her, and no one else!’
Su Ling’s body trembled. He looked up at his master, feeling a strange sense of panic. He urgently wanted to do something, but the moment his fingers tightened around the pen, his neck was seized in a death grip! The intense suffocation made him struggle instantly, his hands weakly slapping the large hand, looking at his master with terrified eyes!
Tears immediately poured from his eyes. His mouth opened slightly, as if to ask his master why she was doing this.
“Not good, not obedient. You are mine, mine! I bought you, I am your master! What you should be thinking about is me, not some irrelevant person!”
Su Ling shook his head with difficulty.
“What does that shake mean? Are you trying to tell me you didn’t?”
Su Ling shook his head with difficulty, wanting to tell his master that it wasn’t like that. But Gu Qingyuan’s lips twisted into a manic smile as she sneered at Su Ling. Su Ling thought his master understood his meaning, so he nodded immediately. But the moment he nodded, his head was violently knocked to the side! A metallic taste filled his mouth, and his head buzzed.
“Liar!”
Seeing Su Ling nod made Gu Qingyuan even angrier. Without hesitation, she slapped him. The ruthless slap landed directly on Su Ling’s face, causing a trickle of blood to seep from the corner of his mouth. It took a long time for Su Ling to recover, and he stared blankly at his master.
“You just told me you were thinking of her, now you say you weren’t! Little thing, you’re really lousy at lying!”
“Ah!” His hair was yanked, forcing Su Ling’s head up.
“Little thing, I don’t care why you were thinking of her. It doesn’t matter that you were thinking of her. What matters is that you cannot have her in your heart. You cannot have anyone besides me, understand?!”
Su Ling endured the pain and nodded with effort. Seeing him nod, Gu Qingyuan slowly released him. The moment he was released, Su Ling collapsed onto the bed like a rag doll that had lost its support.
Su Ling opened his mouth wide, breathing heavily, tears streaming silently. He felt wronged and miserable in his heart. It wasn’t like that… but he couldn’t explain, because he didn’t know how to explain. His master’s words echoed in his mind. His master didn’t allow him to think of anyone else in any way. He didn’t like this.
‘Moreover, I don’t think I can do it. How can it be possible for my mind to be completely filled with my master? I am a human being. As long as one is human, it’s impossible to think of only one thing or one person.’
‘And I’m a little scared… of this kind of boundless control. I don’t know what I will become under this control. It probably won’t be good, right? But this is my master… the only person I can rely on. I have nothing left, only my master. If my master abandons me for being disobedient…’
Gu Qingyuan lifted him by the waist and placed a gentle kiss on his forehead. “You’ve really made me angry this time. As the price for making me angry, I won’t go easy on you from now on!”
“This is to atone for your actions, understand?”
Su Ling wiped his tears and nodded lightly. He didn’t know what he was about to face, so he could only hold his master as tightly as possible, hoping to find some comfort in her warm embrace.
But he seemed to have forgotten that this so-called master could also bring him pain.
