Li Qing and Fang Quan sat together on the sofa, a distance between them.

After hanging up the phone, their argument came to an abrupt halt.

They looked at each other, seemingly doubting their own ears.

“Chenxi said she has someone she likes?”

Li Qing repeated the words as if to confirm.

“Yeah.”

Fang Quan furrowed his brow and instinctively reached into his pocket, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it.

But after just one puff, under Li Qing’s glare, he snuffed it out in the ashtray.

Neither of them had any desire to argue anymore.

“When did this happen? How come I didn’t know?”

“You think I knew?”

If Fang Quan had known, he wouldn’t have arranged a blind date for Fang Chenxi.

Though he could be stubborn and wanted to plan her future development, he wasn’t unreasonable.

“So our daughter really went to Lotus City just to find a boyfriend?”

The balcony connected to the living room, and the window screen wasn’t soundproof.

She’d lost her composure.

It wasn’t until after she’d vented her anger that she realized Jiang Ling was still sitting in the living room and must have heard everything.
