Chapter 30: The Mad King Descends

“Captain Mu, stop this.”

Mu Qingxin’s gaze was so venomous it could practically kill, his aura from his Evolution 6 rank rising continuously around him.

Liu Qing gave a self-deprecating smile and replied, “I call you ‘captain’ because I hope you’ll change your mind, not because I have any intention of conspiring with you.”

Mu Qingxin clenched one hand toward the truck, and multiple layers of Black Barriers instantly surrounded it.

Mu Qingxin lunged forward.

The physical attributes granted by Evolution 6 were utterly overwhelming; with a sudden burst of punches and kicks, he sent Liu Yao flying in the blink of an eye.

Simultaneously, he reached out toward the air behind Liu Yao.

As soon as the words left his mouth, Mu Qingxin appeared before Liu Yao and stepped on her face, grinding his foot down repeatedly.

Her head was forced halfway into the dirt, and blood flowed uncontrollably from her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.

Just as Liu Yao closed her eyes to accept her end, Mu Qingxin pulled his foot back and looked toward the sky with a grave expression.

As the pressure intensified, a black shadow appeared before him.

Mu Qingxin raised one hand toward the sky, summoning a Black Barrier exactly where the shadow was falling.

The moment the shadow touched it, the barrier began to melt away like a snowflake.

His brow furrowed.

Unwilling to give up, he released another barrier, only for it to vanish without warning just like the previous one.

He couldn’t help but wonder what that thing was.

Since the shadow’s descent didn’t slow down at all, Mu Qingxin finally noticed something unusual through the clouds of dust kicked up by the impact.

Flashes of blue light flickered erratically within the haze.

When the dust finally settled, a figure was lying flat on the ground.

Mu Qingxin approached cautiously.

He watched as the figure’s arms hung loosely while its torso slowly straightened from a deep backbend.

In the next instant, a strange phenomenon occurred — the figure vanished into thin air.

The gravity on Mu Qingxin’s face didn’t lessen; it intensified. He couldn’t see the other’s form, yet he could feel their aura everywhere around him.

Liu Yao forced herself to stand, haphazardly wiping the blood from her face. Her lips curled into a smirk.

“Mu Qingxin, it looks like you’re the one who won’t be leaving today!”

Suddenly, Shen Ji appeared directly above Mu Qingxin.

His eyes were completely consumed by flowing blue light, and his body drifted through the air in an incredibly eerie posture.

Mu Qingxin raised his hand and blasted a barrier toward him, but the moment it got close to Shen Ji, it lost its effect just like before.

In the air, the unconscious Shen Ji seemed to sense the other’s hostility.

Azure Flames instantly erupted around his body.

Shen Ji shaped one hand into a palm and reached out to crush Mu Qingxin, his hand wreathed in fire.

Mu Qingxin clicked his tongue and dodged, leaving only splatters of flames on the ground.

Finding his strike had missed, Shen Ji stomped on the ground in dissatisfaction, causing the flames that had hit the earth to splash upward again.

Looking at the flames suspended in mid-air, Mu Qingxin murmured to himself, “Is this the Evolution 3 of a King Seed?”

Shen Ji waved both hands toward Mu Qingxin.

The splashing flames seemed to take on a life of their own, coiling together to form a single entity before finally transforming into a blazing pillar of fire that roared forward.

Mu Qingxin stood ready.

Black Barriers rose from beneath his feet, covering his body inch by inch until they formed a set of Black Armor, leaving only his crimson eyes visible.
