It was already 10:00, and Lin Mingxin was still lazing in bed, curled up under the covers while playing on his phone.
Chen Zhilong had already headed out.
Wang Zuhao was sitting in front of his computer playing games, glancing at a walkthrough as he played while muttering complaints under his breath.
“Brother Hao, you’re being too noisy.”
“It’s already 10:00. Who are you going to blame for not getting up?”
Wang Zuhao didn’t indulge Lin Mingxin at all.
Just as he spoke, the dormitory door was suddenly pushed open.
Qiu Ye walked in casually, carrying a shopping bag.
“I’m back! Did anyone miss me?”
“Miss you and hope you’re dead, maybe. You went out to buy clothes? Was it a date for you two?”
Wang Zuhao’s eyes immediately locked onto the bulging shopping bag.
Walking in behind him, the yawning Bai Yao suddenly perked up, staring at Qiu Ye with a hint of nervousness.
Qiu Ye, however, naturally stuffed the bag into the wardrobe without any intention of hiding it.
“What kind of date would it be? The weather’s getting cold, so I just picked up a jacket while I was at it.”
“Looks like it’s burning hot to me.”
The high today was 25 degrees, and the air conditioner in the dorm was still set to 26 degrees.
Wang Zuhao finally turned his gaze toward Bai Yao, who was clearly in low spirits with faint dark circles under his eyes.
“What did you two do last night?”
“All-nighter at the internet cafe.”
“Damn you for not calling me.”
Compared to Qiu Ye, who looked full of energy and refreshed even after an all-nighter, Bai Yao’s steps felt like he was walking on clouds.
He entered the room in a daze, sat down in front of his computer without a word, and couldn’t stop yawning until tears squeezed out of his eyes.
‘I’m so sleepy…’
Even though he had slept for almost the entire day yesterday, Bai Yao had still ended up slumped over the table, falling asleep by the time it was late into the night.
Back in middle and high school, he was the type of person who could pull an all-nighter for twenty or thirty hours without sleep.
Why had he become so weak so soon after starting university?
It was definitely Wang Zuhao’s fault for being so noisy all day, which had prevented him from getting good rest before…
As Bai Yao sat there in a daze, Wang Zuhao looked at his back, feeling that something had changed.
‘Is he like a girl?’
Clearly, his appearance and physique hadn’t changed, but Bai Yao inexplicably had a soft, feminine aura about him.
That dazed expression looked much cuter than his usual cold face.
This was because Bai Yao was too exhausted to have the energy to switch back to a masculine behavior mode.
He was still in the “Womanly Charm” state provided by the System Rewards.
“You’re looking a bit weak. You’re half-dead after just one all-nighter,” Wang Zuhao mocked as usual.
“You should drink some wolfberry tea to patch yourself up.”
“…”
Bai Yao turned back and glared at Wang Zuhao weakly.
‘He’s so annoying! All he knows is how to provoke and mock me every day. I don’t even know how I offended him.’
However, those teary eyes held no intimidation at all.
He happened to catch a glimpse of Wang Zuhao’s screen and suddenly jolted awake.
“When did you buy *RimWorld*?”
“I bought it since I had the money. It’s not that interesting, though. I can’t figure it out.”
Wang Zuhao casually closed the game.
He had clearly said before that this game was just “pixel people running around,” yet here he was, secretly buying it and playing it.
‘He says one thing but does another. If he were a loli, he would be a tsundere.’
Bai Yao silently rolled his eyes, yawned, and walked to the balcony to wash up before heading to bed.
Qiu Ye happened to come out of the bathroom, leaning against the railing with his legs crossed.
He glanced warily into the dorm to make sure no one was paying attention before speaking in a low voice.
“Change your underwear on the bed. Be careful. If you need to wash them…”
“I already took them off,” Bai Yao said, his voice muffled by the toothpaste in his mouth.
“I have my jacket covering me anyway.”
“Fine then.”
Qiu Ye actually felt a bit disgruntled.
For some reason, a sense of possessiveness welled up within him; he was afraid Bai Yao would accidentally expose himself and be seen by others.
“Aren’t you hot?”
“I’m okay.”
Bai Yao picked up his cup, gargled, and spat out the water.
He then used a towel to wipe his face vigorously and stretched.
“Suddenly, I don’t feel that sleepy anymore.”
His mind had been incredibly foggy, but washing his face seemed to have washed the sleepiness away.
“I’ve always had a question…”
Qiu Ye started, hesitating.
Bai Yao returned to the dorm and went over to Lin Mingxin’s bed.
“Mingxin, can I have some of your face masks?”
“Take whatever you want. I have plenty, and they aren’t worth much.”
“Thanks.”
He took a face mask and some facial cleanser and returned to the balcony.
Only then did he ask Qiu Ye, “What’s the question?”
“Uh…”
Qiu Ye scratched his head and lowered his voice.
“It seems like… you’ve never had a period?”
“…”
A period?!
Bai Yao froze in shock.
The face mask in his hand slipped into the laundry sink without him even noticing.
Ever since he learned that his internal organs had become female, his head had been filled with thoughts about what to do in the future, how others would view him, and how his family would treat him.
He had been immersed in the unreality of the gender transformation… yet he had overlooked himself.
That’s right, a period?
Since he had a uterus and his body was still developing, a period would eventually find him sooner or later!
Bai Yao turned his head blankly, his gaze panicked and helpless.
His face turned pale as he looked at Qiu Ye, his lips trembling.
“Then… then what should I do?”
“I heard it hurts a lot?”
“Will there be a lot of blood?”
“I won’t die, will I?”
Qiu Ye scratched his head.
“I’ve never been a girl either… I’m still a bit confused about how you suddenly became a girl.”
To be honest, he felt he had accepted it quite quickly.
Subconsciously, he found it preposterous, yet he still didn’t understand the situation.
This was the System at work.
It was just like how Bai Yao’s skin had suddenly become better, his face prettier, and his figure more graceful, yet no one felt that it was irrational for him to look more and more like a girl.
“But it should be fine, right? I haven’t heard of anyone dying from a period.”
Bai Yao pursed his lips and covered his lower abdomen.
“I’m afraid of the pain…”
Ever since the System refined his body into a sensitive constitution, he had become very cautious, terrified of getting hurt or feeling pain.
“Then just behave yourself. Drink warm water and don’t touch cold water.”
“Mm…”
To be honest, Bai Yao would rather drink cold water even in the middle of winter.
He always felt that boiled hot water had a weird taste and didn’t like it.
Qiu Ye continued asking, “The report for the checkup you did yesterday should be out by now, right?”
“Let me see.”
Bai Yao opened the hospital’s official account and found his test results.
The blood-related tests, such as the complete blood count and biochemical profile, were already out.
There was also an Abdominal Ultrasound Report.
It contained words like: “Ultrasound findings: Small uterus, possible dysplasia,” and “Further examination required.”
Bai Yao’s eyelids twitched.
Although he couldn’t really understand the ultrasound images, he understood the text.
Compared to the doctor’s verbal explanation, the written words made him feel even more vividly that he was already a female.
His mood plummeted again.
He lowered his brows and let out a long, haunting sigh.
Qiu Ye took the phone and looked at it carefully for a long time before looking up at Bai Yao.
Only now was he truly certain that Bai Yao wasn’t joking.
The corners of his mouth were harder to keep down than the recoil of an AK.
He suppressed his joy and patted Bai Yao’s shoulder.
“It’s okay. We’ll take it one step at a time. I’ll stay with you.”
Qiu Ye felt he was being despicable.
Bai Yao was clearly upset to death, yet he was actually quite happy.
