Chapter Twenty-Five
The Black Iron Mountains, Heart of Lava.
Lucia raised her hand.
Just 1 second ago, it had been a riot.
The geothermal energy hub, capable of blowing the entire mountain range into the sky, fell into a deathly silence in an instant.
The flowing magma solidified immediately.
The roaring energy was forcibly smoothed over.
Ignis, the Flame Demon Lord, who was prostrate on the ground, even stopped trembling.
This was a god.
“Your dereliction of duty, we will settle that when I return.”
There was no fluctuation in Lucia’s tone, only the impatience of being disturbed.
Such a small matter had delayed her from returning to play games with her little pet.
At the thought of how that silver-haired little thing would react next, a rare flicker of interest rose in her otherwise tranquil heart.
She turned, preparing to tear through space. However, her footsteps stopped.
Just now, the world laws she controlled had experienced an erroneous fluctuation.
It wasn’t just one.
It was a series of jarring, chaotic noises!
Her perception pierced through 10,000 meters of earth, pointing directly at the magic capital, Asla.
‘Hmm?’
‘The life-throb of the Titan’s Heart… the termination curse of the Doom Blade… the chaotic laws of the Seed of Chaos…’
‘How could these “toys” I sealed in the deepest part of the Underground Treasury, which even I had almost forgotten, all appear in Asla City?’
The central square, Evernight Rose Street, the Magic Academy…
The locations of the outbreaks had been calculated with the most malicious intent.
Each one was designed to let chaos spread with maximum efficiency.
Someone had ransacked her treasury.
Then, they had taken the items inside and lit them like fireworks all over her capital.
‘Who? Who has the nerve and the ability…?’
A figure with twin-tails, wearing a gothic dress and dragging a cat tail behind her, flashed through her mind.
She dismissed the thought immediately.
‘Impossible. That little thing who just reached Level 3 could barely even sneak into my bedroom. How could she break into a treasury covered in law-locks? Besides, the password for the core access is only known to me and… Lilith.’
‘That little pet could never do it.’
‘A remnant of the old era? Or some monarch who is tired of living?’
A change finally appeared on Lucia’s face.
She wasn’t angry; instead, her interest was piqued.
She had no desire to go back and play “hide and seek” now.
She only wanted to personally drag out the person who dared to start a fire in her backyard.
Her figure flickered, and she vanished from the spot.
—
Evernight Palace, Underground Treasury.
Lillia was sprawled out haphazardly on a pile of gold coins.
She was so exhausted she didn’t even want to move a single finger.
Her mana and mental energy had been completely drained.
However, the corners of her mouth were stretched wide.
Closing her eyes, she used the last bit of her perception to “appreciate” her masterpiece from a distance.
She “saw” the central square of the magic capital.
Atop the head of the statue representing Lucia’s authority, a golden heart was thumping wildly.
It sent the demon aristocrats, who usually held their heads high, scurrying in fear.
She “saw” a demonic sword burning with black fire, reducing the most luxurious commercial street to ruins.
She “saw” twisted vines entangling the Magic Academy, with waves of panicked screams echoing from within.
Alarm bells, explosions, and screams… everything was so pleasant to her ears!
“Haha… hahahaha… Meow!”
She could no longer hold it in and laughed out loud amidst the treasure, laughing until tears came to her eyes.
‘Exhilarating! This is so exhilarating!’
‘This is a real victory!’
‘This is a real reversal!’
She had forced that high-and-mighty, perverted Demon King to drop the games in her hands and go clean up a mess with a face full of dust!
For the first time, she had let that woman, who always controlled everything, taste the flavor of “trouble”!
“Lucia, are you satisfied with this surprise? Meow?”
Lillia whispered triumphantly as she lay on the money.
“Sister Lilith, thank you… Meow…”
She offered her sincere thanks to the empty treasury.
Without that Head Maid, she wouldn’t have been able to do anything.
This victory belonged half to her and half to Lilith!
Just as Lillia was immersed in her joy and preparing to crawl up to make her escape, the light from the flickering magic gems and divine weapons in the treasury suddenly dimmed.
The light source of the entire space was swallowed whole by something.
The surrounding air solidified instantly.
A will so vast it made her soul scream enveloped the entire treasury.
The smile on Lillia’s face froze inch by inch.
‘She’s back? She’s back?!’
‘How could it be so fast?! Didn’t Lilith say tomorrow at the earliest?!’
Lillia’s head buzzed.
With a start, she bolted upright from the pile of money, turning to run toward the exit.
She had to sneak back to her bedroom before being caught!
‘Play dead!’
‘Pretend to be asleep!’
‘Pretend I don’t know anything!’
She had just taken one step when a cold voice, laced with a hint of amusement, rang out behind her.
“My little pet, are you having fun?”
Lillia’s body froze on the spot.
It was over.
Little by little, she turned her stiff body around.
Lucia was standing less than 3 meters behind her.
She was still wearing her black imperial gown, and her perfect face remained expressionless.
She wasn’t looking at Lillia.
Instead, she was looking at the messy, empty crystal balls and the treasures scattered across the floor.
“Mas… Master… Meow…”
Lillia’s legs were shaking, her voice trembling.
“Weren’t… weren’t you at the Black Iron Mountains? Why… Meow…”
“If I didn’t return, wouldn’t I have missed this grand firework display you prepared for me?”
Lucia finally shifted her gaze to Lillia’s face.
“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about! Meow!”
Lillia shook her head violently, her words becoming incoherent.
“I’ve been sleeping in my room this whole time! Yes, sleeping! I just had a nightmare, I was sleepwalking… yes! I just sleepwalked here! Meow!”
“Is that so?”
Lucia ignored her clumsy lie.
She raised her hand.
The Titan’s Heart, which had been showing off its power over Asla City just moments ago, was now floating and thumping quietly in her palm.
“Then, did you throw this out while sleepwalking as well?”
