Along the way, Liuli passed many Stores.
Honestly, these Stores were very distinctive—types she would never see in the Human Empire.
The restaurants of various Races and the wide array of relaxing, interesting entertainment activities gave Liuli a great sense of novelty.
“Serveyia, do all these Stores need to be reviewed by the Student Council before they can open?”
“Yes. Actually, they also require an application through the Disciplinary Committee Members, which is why Aili and Xinas worked so hard on the reviews before the Academy Festival. Although the vast majority of the Students’ applications are completely reasonable and compliant, we can’t stop some classmates from proposing strange ideas. Generally, those are rejected at that point.”
“Strange ideas? What kind of ideas count as strange?”
Liuli felt her own proposal was strange enough, yet it had been approved.
She wasn’t sure if it was out of respect for her status as a Princess, or if the project simply wasn’t considered strange in their eyes.
“For example, some Succubus students would propose opening a Dream Pavilion. Generally, such projects are strictly prohibited and canceled.”
“Dream Pavilion?”
“That’s right. To put it nicely, it’s called a Dream Pavilion. To put it bluntly… well, I’m sure you know exactly what it is, Little Fox.”
Know exactly?
Should she know?
But hearing Serveyia’s tone, Liuli knew it definitely wouldn’t be a wholesome Dream Pavilion.
In comparison, it seemed her Maid Café wasn’t that strange after all.
“So, are Succubi really that kind of race?”
In general fantasy, the Succubus is often depicted as a race that feeds on Essence, but is it really okay for such a race to appear in real life?
Would the part about absorbing Essence cause any legal issues?
“It’s hard to say they aren’t. After all, it’s impossible for stereotypes formed over such a long time not to be partly due to racial reasons. However, it’s not particularly severe. Being accepted by the whole Society means they are destined not to be too different from ordinary people. If you have a chance to go to the Succubus territory in the future, Little Fox, you’ll probably find many similar Dream Pavilions. That’s considered a unique ecology for the Succubus.”
“But, with so many Dream Pavilions in the Succubus territory, are there really people there to provide them with Essence?”
From Liuli’s perspective, if a Succubus wants to absorb Essence, they surely can’t consume it internally within their race.
They likely have to find other Races.
But would other Races really just go to the Succubus territory to have their Essence absorbed?
“I wouldn’t know about that. But at least nowadays, Succubi almost never drain someone’s Essence completely. So maybe some people go try it out of curiosity? However, even if the Dream Pavilion didn’t pass the application, those Succubi actually opened a similar venue, just much more wholesome.”
“Uh, should I say they are persistent?”
“Perhaps you could say that. But after all, many people are still curious about the habits of the Succubus. In this case, someone—or rather, a Succubus—is needed to explain it to everyone. That’s why there are similar places. Look, Little Fox, right there!”
Liuli followed Serveyia’s gaze and saw a brightly decorated Room.
“That… why does it look so much like a Dance Hall?”
“Exactly, it’s a place similar to a Dance Hall. Although direct feeding is undoubtedly the best way to replenish Essence, there are actually different methods of absorbing Essence, though the efficiency isn’t as high.”
Uh, even though Serveyia made it sound very, very normal, Liuli always felt things weren’t that simple.
What originally sounded like an ordinary entertainment venue somehow sounded so strange once the word Essence was added.
“So, is this really a proper Dance Hall?”
“That depends on how you define ‘proper,’ Little Fox. It’s definitely not suitable for children, but it’s not entirely improper either. It’s just a Dance Hall; it depends on how you view Dance Halls.”
“So, Serveyia, do you plan to take me in to see?”
Honestly, Liuli didn’t really like places like a Dance Hall.
In her view, such noisy occasions were likely to make one feel irritable.
So, if she had a choice, Liuli didn’t really want to choose a Dance Hall as a destination.
But if it was a Succubus Dance Hall, Liuli suddenly felt a spark of interest.
Maybe this really was a good destination.
“Not really. I just wanted you to see the habits of the Succubus, Little Fox, to broaden your knowledge so you’ll stay away from them in the future.”
“Do I even have to stay away from Xinas?”
“Even though she serves as a Disciplinary Committee Member and can’t do anything too excessive on the surface, her essence is still that of a Succubus. I don’t believe she won’t be tempted after seeing you, Little Fox. More importantly, as a Succubus, even without using those strange, unreasonable methods, her charm alone is enough to make you unable to walk away. I don’t quite trust her.”
“I… what’s there to worry about with me? It’s not like I don’t have my own judgment…”
“Do you need me to remind you, Little Fox, of your expression the first time you saw me?”
“………..”
“Xinas will only be better at seducing people than I am. If you can’t even pass my level, then don’t even mention Xinas.”
Liuli’s mouth snapped shut.
It seemed Serveyia had a clearer understanding of her than she did herself.
She had wanted to be stubborn and talk back, but it seemed there was no point.
“Let’s go eat first…”
After realizing that bickering with Serveyia wouldn’t get her anywhere, Liuli decisively chose to shut up and stop making a fool of herself.
Serveyia looked at Liuli with a smile, saying nothing more as she led her into a restaurant.
The Store was run by a pair of Elf sisters.
There were quite a few customers inside, but after seeing Liuli and Serveyia, the owners still happily came forward to greet them.
“Serveyia, you’re here. The same as before?”
“The same for me. Princess, what would you like to eat?”
In front of others, Serveyia’s address for her had indeed turned back into such a formal style.
But honestly, hearing the familiar way they spoke, Liuli thought they were on good terms.
Now it seemed it was just average.
Liuli looked at the menu hanging on the wall.
Honestly, just looking at the pictures made one feel hungry; even those vegetarian dishes looked more appetizing than an average salad.
After hesitating for a long while, Liuli finally chose some specialty delicacies of the Elf race.
