The sudden voice interrupted the attackers, and Su Su let out a relieved breath.
Why did that voice sound so familiar?
Outside the door, Bai Nian had already left with the nurse.
She found an excuse to end today’s treatment early.
Bai Nian explained that she needed to observe the patients’ conditions and understand each person’s symptoms; the director readily agreed.
It seemed that after accepting the cash from Bai Nian, the director felt quite reassured about her.
They assigned her a room to rest in, still underground.
After the nurse delivered everyone’s case sheets to the room, they left.
Now, in the small room, Bai Nian was alone.
She carefully examined the surroundings, confirming there were no cameras before finally relaxing.
“After this test, it seems the hospital staff doesn’t know about the Special Employment Period,”
Bai Nian murmured to herself.
Moreover, since she entered the underground area, no matter where she went, there was always a nurse following her; her phone signal was blocked, as if from the moment she arrived, they had no intention of letting her leave.
But treating patients for three days and completing the task in a by-the-book manner was far more difficult than she had imagined.
Bai Nian had to endure the torment inflicted on these mentally unstable patients.
She probably wouldn’t last three days without losing her own mind before finishing the mission.
Perhaps the hypnotists who had come here before had disappeared for the same reason.
Bai Nian immediately opened the case sheet in her hand and began to study it.
All the conditions were fabricated, not even real names, only a simple code name and photo.
By judging from admission times, she quickly identified a few of her high school classmates.
Bai Nian silently noted down their code names, closed the case sheet, and stood to inspect the room again.
Aside from the ventilation shaft overhead, there was no other exit here.
“It looks like I’ll have to act at midnight. I absolutely cannot let them keep leading me around by the nose.”
In this dim underground space, without sunlight, there was no way to distinguish day from night except by time.
Meanwhile, in Su Su’s ward, she was constantly observing the outside situation.
She discovered a suspicious detail: one mentally ill patient was able to move freely without restraints, but the person seemed crazed, often humming strange tunes.
Su Su had asked the nurse why that patient could roam freely in the ward, but all she received was a brutal beating in return.
That night, she eavesdropped on two nurses’ conversation and learned that the director had gone out today—this was an opportunity.
During their brief “exercise” time, Su Su immediately went to the crazed woman’s side.
“Exercise” was just a euphemism for gathering the patients into a larger sealed room.
“Do you know how to escape from here?”
Su Su asked directly, assuming the woman had some special privileges.
The Feng Woman bit her finger and thought for a moment.
“There’s a secret passage in the Director’s Office. You can escape from there.”
Su Su was stunned but quickly remembered that entering the Director’s Office required a passcode or access card.
“What’s the passcode?”
“I don’t know,”
the Feng Woman shook her head, then pointed to a figure lurking in the corner.
“That Unclothed Man knows the passcode.”
Hope flickered in Su Su’s eyes as she immediately approached the patient in the corner.
“Hey, what’s the passcode?”
She stared straight at the man.
“Huh?”
A mocking sneer appeared on the man’s face.
“You really believe that crazy woman?”
“What do you want before you tell me?”
Su Su’s face went cold.
“Don’t want to know the code anymore?”
The man’s voice took on a threatening tone.
“Come here.”
Gritting her teeth, Su Su finally stepped forward.
The man began to grope her without restraint.
“Tell me the passcode first.”
Su Su stood her ground, her eyes sharp enough to kill.
By now, the man was completely lost in lust.
He pushed her down by the shoulders, wearing a look of pleasure.
“It’s 05… hiss… 26…”
At that moment, Su Su suddenly summoned all her strength, and a gush of blood sprayed out.
The man let out a guttural scream like a slaughtered pig and collapsed to the floor in pain.
“Ahhh!!”
The scream instantly drew everyone’s attention.
Su Su spat out a mouthful of blood, wiping the crimson from the corner of her mouth.
“Tianmu City Third High School!”
At her shout, several young men in the crowd lit up with recognition.
Without hesitation, they attacked the nearby patients fiercely.
Chaos erupted instantly.
The nurses outside rushed in, opening the door to quell the brawl and attending to the wounded man.
Meanwhile, Su Su vanished into the crowd and left the room.
Reaching the end of the corridor, she entered the Director’s Office by inputting the passcode and began searching for the secret passage.
After struggling to move a safe, she finally uncovered the hidden passage behind it.
Without hesitation, excitement shining in her eyes, Su Su stepped inside.
As for the other classmates?
For now, she had to take care of herself first.
At the same time, Bai Nian, who had been sleeping, was woken by the sudden commotion.
She glanced at the time: nearly midnight.
Opening the door, she found the nurse outside almost asleep.
“What’s going on?”
she asked.
Startled, the nurse quickly grabbed the radio to check with others.
“Just a disturbance, Doctor Bai. No need to worry.”
No sooner had the nurse finished speaking than a roar came through the radio:
“08 has escaped!”
Bai Nian froze.
Wasn’t that Su Su’s code name?
She just arrived today and already ran away?
Could she somehow use an item to activate her abilities?
What Bai Nian didn’t know was that the hospital was clearly not dealing with such incidents for the first time and reacted much faster.
When Su Su found herself outside through an underground parking exit, she hadn’t even caught her breath before hearing footsteps behind her.
She sprinted barefoot, running desperately down the street.
But she wasn’t as fast as the nurses chasing her.
As they closed in, Su Su could only hope for help from the passersby.
But to these people, Su Su looked like a walking plague, and they hurriedly avoided her.
Wearing a patient gown, her hair disheveled, stained in blood, she looked like a madwoman.
And those nurses behind her?
They appeared to be the ones hunting a patient as if they were heroes.
This was the first impression people had.
Would anyone believe a mentally ill person who claimed not to be ill?
Just when Su Su was losing hope, a police car suddenly appeared ahead.
Saved!
She rushed over, stopping the car, desperately explaining that those people wanted to kill her and proving her situation was extremely dangerous.
“Don’t be afraid, ma’am. We’ll protect you. Please cooperate and come with us to the Police Station for investigation.”
“Okay.”
Su Su agreed without hesitation and got into the car.
Her eyes looked out the window as the nurses gave up the chase and quickly left the scene.
As long as she reported this mental hospital to the Police Station, she should be able to complete her mission.
She hadn’t even spent a full day here.
A faint smile of triumph appeared on Su Su’s face, utterly unconcerned with her disheveled state.
Until the police car stopped in front of a building.
About to officially become a Professional, she excitedly stepped out.
But a few nurses suddenly rushed out from a side door.
Without a word, they subdued Su Su and dragged her back inside.
Her mouth was covered, silencing her screams.
Her pupils constricted, and at that moment, only despair remained in her eyes.
