“Damn it, are you really here for me?”
Seeing the unknown Vampire’s murderous expression, Krexia felt darkness cloud her vision.
What to do, what to do…
Run?
Probably can’t escape.
If she turned around and fled now…
Her gaze shifted to the spot where the unidentified flying object had landed.
Tracing the trajectory, the blood-red light seemed to have pierced through several tree trunks, grazed a boulder, scratched her arm, and finally stabbed diagonally into the ground.
It landed about seventy or eighty meters away.
Sensing briefly, the hole it created in the earth was so deep she couldn’t see the bottom.
What kind of demonic single-point breakthrough ability was this!
If she hadn’t dodged just now and taken a direct hit from that thing.
Damn.
She would’ve been dead for sure.
No, thinking back to similar things from her previous life…
With that much kinetic energy, getting hit wouldn’t just be fatal.
There’s no way to run now. If she turned her back to escape, that deadly Blood Spike would definitely nail her on the spot.
She could only stand and fight.
Though… the chances of survival were slim.
“Ko-san, if I die later, you can probably fish me out one more time, right?”
Gripping her Magic Wand tightly with both hands, all her magic power surged, her wine-red eyes glowing an eerie red from the active mana.
At this moment, she had already accepted that she might die here.
Facing a Vampire whose combat strength surpassed her by at least two levels, with deep magic reserves, high regenerative passive skills, and all sorts of racial buffs.
She truly couldn’t imagine how she could win.
“Disobedient brat, why would I bother to fish you out? Dead is dead.”
“Hey, do you have to be so cold!”
If this guy could appear here so quickly, it meant Anna and Isaac were likely already down.
People who looked so powerful couldn’t even last a few moves against her?
Not even enough time to run away.
Krexia’s expression had never been so grim.
This was probably the most dangerous battle of her life.
The Vampire on the other side tilted its head, seeming puzzled as to why this human wasn’t running, just standing there gripping a Magic Wand.
Krexia gripped her Magic Wand, calculating which Magic would give her the best chance of survival when the Vampire attacked.
In the end, she concluded that no matter what Magic she used, she’d probably still end up like a QQtang.
Damn it, forget it, if defense doesn’t work, then attack first. Either way, it’s do or die.
Do it!
All her mana was mobilized in an instant, with her at the center, multiple Magic Circles nested together, dozens of complex Magic Inscriptions condensing in less than two seconds.
The Spell Circuit closed, a torrent of mana flowed through the Magic Circle, and at the same moment, a violent gale swept through the forest.
[Elemental: Fifth Rank Control: Thousand Winds Prison]
Krexia unleashed the highest-level Fifth Rank Magic she could use, and the only Fifth Rank spell she possessed.
Strangely, the Vampire simply stood there, arm still raised, the seven diamond-shaped Blood Spikes floating obediently, showing no intent to attack.
The calm observation of Krexia’s spellcasting resembled a villain in a tokusatsu show patiently waiting for the hero’s transformation animation to finish.
To be blunt, although she had shortened the casting time to something a normal human couldn’t achieve, those two seconds were more than enough for her opponent to kill her countless times.
Krexia understood this, but attacking such an enemy with Third-Tier Magic would be as pointless as throwing dirt at a rhino.
As the spell completed, the familiar wind field expanded nearly a hundred meters around, high-pressure gales suppressing everything inside indiscriminately.
Except the caster.
The moment the wind field descended, Krexia used the magic resonance advantage to slip out of its range, reaching the outer area.
Even outside the wind field, the wind was still strong.
The fierce gale made the surrounding trees sway wildly, countless broad leaves the size of palms fluttered like snow, and any leaves sucked into the field were instantly shredded into countless tiny fragments.
Facing an opponent far stronger than herself, Krexia couldn’t afford to treat this like bullying a child—she used her full strength from the start.
Even though it was a control-type spell, it unleashed considerable power.
Within the wind field, the howling gales raged, the intense wind speed like countless invisible blades, suppressing and simultaneously shredding any targets inside.
Within seconds, the trees inside were battered beyond recognition.
But that blood-hued figure seemed utterly unaffected, the wind pressure failing to hinder her steps at all.
She continued to steadily approach Krexia.
“No way…”
Krexia’s expression twisted.
[General: Fourth Rank Secret Art: Double Chant]
A surge of violet light rose from her body as she activated a rarely-used secret art.
Though Fourth Rank and not difficult to learn, this Magic wasn’t often used by mages due to its heavy toll on the spirit.
Double Chant allowed a mage to simultaneously cast two spells, greatly increasing output and useful in many situations.
However, under this state, the mana cost for the second spell doubled, and for most mages, the mental burden of casting two spells at once was immense.
Such consumption wasn’t necessary for mages often surrounded by bodyguards who could create safe casting environments; it wouldn’t be used except in emergencies.
But for someone like Krexia, who was already at death’s door, she couldn’t care less.
[Elemental: Fourth Rank Support: Explosive Bloom Dust]
[Elemental: Fourth Rank Attack: Starlight Volley]
Two sets of Magic Circuits formed almost simultaneously, unleashing a mass of dust with a rich floral scent from the Magic Circle.
Pale pink pollen smoke billowed towards the wind field, instantly merging into the swirling winds upon contact.
The entire wind field became tinged with a faint cherry pink.
Then, another Magic Circle flashed with blinding firelight, and with a subtle surge of mana, the Spell Circuit closed and mana poured in.
Countless sparks, like a sky full of stars, scattered upward. Even at a glance, there were at least a thousand points of light.
Under Krexia’s control, these stars shot toward the wind field already filled with pollen.
