Demon King’s Castle.
Inside the grand hall, Lilith sprawled out in her throne, limbs splayed in every direction.
She watched the group of dukes and couldn’t help but sigh.
“Majesty, the Demon Lord of the Succubi has truly been overstepping her bounds. Even when facing us, she dared to utter such rebellious words against Your Majesty… In this campaign, she’s been arrogant and commanding, showing no regard for the lives of our Blood Clan warriors. Majesty, you must understand, for this war, even the three princes of the Blood Clan have been mobilized. What right does she have to speak against us!?”
“Exactly as Lord Libino said, the Succubi Demon Lord’s interference with us Blood Demons has gone too far. Even though she commands the campaign near Saint Anso City, she should at least show basic respect to the princes and dukes of other clans. She should never have uttered such insulting words… Moreover, those words were overheard by that human Saintess!”
“Please, Majesty, make a decision to strip Demon Lord Via of her authority and make her recognize her mistake…”
“Then will you do it yourselves?”
Lilith’s sweet voice suddenly rang out.
“Ah?”
“I said, stripping Via of her power so she no longer commands the frontlines or manages the towns and cities captured by the demons is possible, but once I take those powers back, can you match her performance?”
Lilith lazily toyed with her nails, her legs crossed casually as she glanced at her ministers.
How old are you all? Still whining to me like children who’ve been scolded.
“With your order, we can do it.”
“If you could, I wouldn’t have had to pull so many troops to attack the Blood Clan,” Lilith’s adorable face turned icy, her gaze piercing the princes and dukes before her.
“Why is so many troops needed for the Blood Clan offensive? Isn’t it because you’re incompetent? I want the Blood Demons to become the absolute authority within the demon clans, but when you act as a unit, it’s always a mess.”
“If you can do it, then sign a contract here and now. Demon Lord Via’s actions are indeed excessive, and I’ll remind her of this flaw when I have the time. But that is no excuse for your passive combat, your avoidance, and delay on the front lines. The thirteen great demon clans are a whole. Now you emphasize the Blood Demon clan’s nobility so much—do you want the Blood Demons to rise above all other demon clans?”
The Demon King’s crimson eyes brimmed with disdain.
The old aristocrats of the Blood Demons suffered from the same arrogance as the Blood Clan criminals outside—insufferably prideful.
Although after integrating into the demon clans, the Blood Demons’ mindset was less haughty than before, when facing Via—once a human, an “outsider” in their eyes—they still couldn’t help but fall back into that old noble attitude.
“Majesty, do you really think this outsider understands warfare better than us?”
“Have you forgotten the memories of being chased and routed back then?”
Lilith shot a glare at the old man who spoke.
That’s what you call forgetting old wounds.
Wasn’t it your lot being chased by the Holy Crusaders back then?
“But at the very least, she shouldn’t insult our demon soldiers like this. Even if she wants us to attack, she shouldn’t speak so arrogantly…”
“Now, either return to the frontlines and obediently follow orders, or stay here and I’ll dismantle each of you,” Lilith’s previously angry expression turned utterly calm, unmoving.
The princes and dukes shuddered.
The Demon King’s most terrifying state was exactly this—when this seemingly harmless “little girl” showed no extra expression, it meant she was ready to bury you alive.
“…Yes.”
“If I hear again from the Succubi Demon Lord that you disobey orders and squander opportunities, don’t blame me for disregarding kinship.
I am not just the Blood Demon Lord now, but the Demon King of all demon clans.
The future of the entire demon race lies in my hands,” Lilith said deliberately.
“I do not want to see anyone openly break the rules, hiding behind their status and past merits. Understand?”
The scent of blood spread from the Demon King’s side.
The Blood Demons before her stiffened, and then, to their horror, their blood began to boil uncontrollably inside their bodies.
“I… we understand…”
At this point, they knew exactly what to do.
The Blood Demons hurriedly left the Demon King’s court.
They understood the Demon King’s notoriously volatile temper could turn deadly.
Watching them leave, Lilith stood and smoothed her dress.
“Sigh, these old nobles are really hopeless. They come whining to me over something so trivial—truly, they’re getting more childish with age.”
She snapped her fingers lightly, and the demon maidservants quickly stepped forward to dress her in a black evening gown.
The Blood Demon expertly sucked in her stomach and straightened her chest.
With a little force from the maids, the delicate silk fabric concealed her smooth, tender back.
The intricately patterned gown swayed gently, giving the Demon King an air of fragile elegance.
Dressed, the Demon King stood before her throne and raised her hand.
In an instant, her figure vanished from the Demon King’s court.
She was preparing to visit her “good sister.”
Although these Blood Demons were indeed incompetent and embarrassing, her good sister’s scolding was justified.
But after all, she still had to protect her own.
The Demon King’s teleportation magic was extremely powerful.
Even without relying on the demon clans’ internal pathways, her magical prowess alone allowed her to reach previously recorded locations quickly.
Saint Anso City itself was like a giant beacon embedded in the demon-controlled territory.
Teleporting there was almost impossible to miss.
Within just over ten minutes, the Demon King landed precisely on the rooftop of the familiar residence in Saint Anso City.
She took a deep breath, dispersing her magic.
It spread out like countless eyes and hands, probing the mansion.
She sensed Via’s position, gradually tracking which room she was in.
The remaining magic extended to other parts of the estate, sensing the Saintess’s magical source.
Driven by curiosity, she slowly guided her magic closer to Cecilia.
The tiny magical presence was invisible to the naked eye.
Even experienced old mages could not detect such magic unintentionally.
However, at that moment, she suddenly lost contact with that magic.
“As you said, Senior, the Demon King really did come looking on her own.”
