“Did you think this is a place you can come and go as you please?” Orange Sea Dream sneered. “Blackie, I never thought you’d become a Motizu Pantou too.”
“Little Black…” At the sound of that name, the dazed Shijietang Simon finally snapped out of it a little.
But seeing the state of her child, her heart ached all the more.
Her throat tightened, her knees grew weak, and she was utterly drained.
Thankfully, someone supported her, or she would have collapsed straight to the floor.
She was now covered head-to-toe in Dragon Scale Armor, her head encased in a Longjiao Fumian Toukui.
The mask sported a fearsome Yacha Kou, and the scales radiated a visible black killing aura, making her seem like a humanoid evil dragon.
“……”
“……”
“……”
The high-level Demonic Beasts that had been clamoring moments before all fell silent.
Every one of them was cowed by Blackie’s aura, sweating and trembling uncontrollably, not daring to take a single step closer.
Their beast bloodlines screamed at them in warning—one step further, and this terrifying being would tear them to shreds.
This creature’s bloodline stood above them all. Their ancestors had all been slaughtered or crushed by its kind, an instinct passed down from generation to generation.
Yet no one could tell what exactly Blackie was.
Even though Orange Sea Dream had seen through Shijietang Simon’s identity, she herself was shocked by the bloodline suppression Blackie unleashed.
“President Simon, the condition I set was for you to drive out that Motizu Pantou. You did well. Next, it’s time for me to fulfill your proposed terms of cooperation.” Orange Sea Dream pushed the mind-wandering Shijietang Simon aside.
“I…” Now, Shijietang Simon was trapped in the same tangled state Qingshamu had been in, when she couldn’t decide if Dabai was Human or Demonic Beast.
Their emotional journeys were identical. Whatever suffering I’ve endured, you’ll surely taste it too.
She was my daughter, yet also a lowly Half-Dragon.
I’m still a student myself, enjoying my youth, when suddenly this mixed-blood daughter appears—how am I supposed to face such a monster? How am I supposed to explain?
All the honor and prestige I’ve accumulated are being shattered in this instant.
Even someone as thick-skinned as Shijietang Simon was wavering now; it showed just how effective Feini’s desperate plan was.
“Big Sis, Miss Sha, you two go first. I’ll cover the rear.” Heiqi Long spoke in her hoarse voice.
“Blackie, we’re not leaving you behind. If we go, we go together.” White Feather Dove said firmly.
“You go ahead. I’ll catch up soon. Otherwise, none of us will get out.” Heiqi Long rasped in reply.
“Enough talk, you idiots—let’s fall back!” Qingshamu snapped, slashing the meeting room door open with her sword.
White Feather Dove picked up Feini and retreated first.
She then pulled Heiqi Long along, the two of them watching all sides warily as they left the mysterious meeting room and entered the corridor.
The high-level Demonic Beasts gave chase but were too afraid to risk their lives.
Besides, this was an internal affair of your Double Tea Party. If your own club members won’t fight, why should we?
The ordinary club members were no match for the murderous hooded trio either, so in the end, over a hundred Magical Beast Apprentices could only watch as the girls smashed open the main doors of the Tea Ceremony Society building and escaped.
Once outside, the three wasted no time, turning and running straight into the nearby flower garden’s small woods.
None of the high-level Demonic Beasts or Double Tea Party members dared give chase, and they all looked at each other helplessly.
Everyone now understood—no one really cared about Motizu Pantou, nor the future of the Demon Domain.
Let them run if they want; as long as it doesn’t affect our own interests, who cares?
What could a minor traitor and a minor Hero possibly do to change the mess that is the Demon Domain? Nothing—everyone knew this in their hearts.
More importantly, no one knew why the witches didn’t make a move either.
They just stood there, watching the Yichang Moshu Xuejie rescue the traitor.
Clearly, there were secret dealings and hidden reasons at play.
Once the trio was gone, Shijietang Simon collapsed to the ground, her regal composure gone, as fragile as a maggot.
Yet the hell she had to face was only just beginning. This was merely the appetizer.
Thus, the retreat of the Yichang Mo trio went off without a hitch.
In the small woods, they found the travel backpack Qingshamu had hidden in advance, stocked with compressed rations, water, and most importantly, Adventurer Badges.
Soon, the three, carrying “salted fish” Feini, reached the base of the academy’s outer wall.
“Dabai, how’s Feini?” Qingshamu asked.
“Mother’s not dead. We Weapon Demons aren’t that easy to kill. But that doesn’t mean she’s fine. I honestly don’t know her exact condition now,” White Feather Dove replied helplessly. “She might heal quickly, or she might never recover and stay in a coma forever.”
At these words, Qingshamu and Heiqi Long pounded the ground in frustration.
“We’ll get Feini out first. I’ll find someone to treat her wounds. For now, we need to fight our way out through the front gate—it’ll definitely be heavily guarded. Be prepared,” Qingshamu said.
“Dabai, Damu, are you there?” Just then, a familiar voice called out from within the small woods.
Heiqi Long didn’t recognize the voice and drew her dragon-elbow blade, ready to strike.
“Wait, Blackie—it’s one of us. No ordinary Magical Beast Apprentice would dare pursue us into these woods.” Qingshamu stopped her, then called softly into the woods, “We’re here.”
Soon, Xueyuedai burst out from the underbrush. Seeing Feini slung over White Feather Dove’s back, she was stunned, trembling with disbelief.
She quickly composed herself and said steadily, “I know a small passage out of the God and Demon Academy. Follow me.”
Qingshamu hurried after her, and Dabai and Blackie followed as well.
Xueyuedai led them to a derelict security post built against the campus wall.
She unlocked the iron door with a key, then lifted up the floor to reveal a pitch-black Guidao below.
“This leads straight outside. I’ve got some supplies here, take them all.”
Xueyuedai pulled out a Magic Power Lamp, lighting the way as she led them halfway through the tunnel, where a larger cavern contained some canned food.
“Thank you, Xiaoxue,” Qingshamu said gratefully.
“Is there any hope for her?” Xueyuedai asked.
“I don’t know, but we’ll do our best.” Qingshamu’s voice was resolute.
In this moment, Xueyuedai stood at a crossroads in her life. For an instant, she wanted to go with them, but her family duties chained her—she couldn’t just leave everything behind.
Family was like a chain binding her fox self, unlike these girls who could come and go as they pleased.
“Then go quickly. Safe travels,” Xueyuedai said.
Qingshamu nodded, took the Magic Power Lamp, and continued on.
The Yichang Mo trio swiftly made their way to the other end of the Guidao, their lamp disappearing into the darkness.
Xueyuedai turned and left, feeling a little melancholic. Who knew if they’d ever meet again?
……
Drip drip, tick tick~
Heiqi Long shoved aside a heavy boulder, and the three crawled out the other end of the tunnel into the dim, desolate land outside. The sky was lightless, a stinking, blood-red drizzle falling.
Qingshamu now realized that the “normal daytime” at God and Demon Academy was nothing more than a phantom sun conjured by the Nameless Witch’s magic.
The entire academy was protected by the Nameless Witch’s grand magic barrier; they had been living in an illusion of prosperity.
The real Demon Domain was always this cruel and merciless. In plain terms: a land torn by warlords.
The deeper Qingshamu investigated, the more certain she became—the Demonic Beasts could never launch a large-scale invasion of the United Kingdom, and the God and Demon Academy wasn’t truly training Yichang Moshu Xuejie to infiltrate the Human Race.
As Feini had once said, there had always been Yichang Moshu Xuejie among the Human Race, and there were indeed Demonic Beasts capable of perfectly disguising themselves as humans.
Her undercover mission was pointless. Even if she figured out what the God-Demon Meat Chunk was, it wouldn’t change a thing.
The real problem with the Human Race was their own internal decay—corruption, class stagnation.
The “Demonic Beast threat” was just a scapegoat for domestic issues.
Qingshamu suddenly saw everything clearly.
But that was the sort of realization a Hero should never have.
Think about it—in most fantasy stories, Heroes never have opinions on domestic policy. If they meddle in internal affairs, everything falls apart.
And that fits just fine here. Our story is about things falling apart.
If everything were normal, there’d be no story to tell.
But it’s too soon for these thoughts. First, you have to escape the Demon Domain.
“Huff~ huff~ huff~ huff~ huff~”
Suddenly, a scorching gale howled in. The bloody rain was swept aside, and even the black clouds in the sky scattered.
The three looked up to see a massive, crimson four-winged dragon slowly descending.
It shifted into a humanoid form in midair and landed heavily before them.
It was none other than Orange Sea Dream, President of the Tea Party Club.
Not only her—dozens of club members poured from the woods, most of them there only to spectate.
Only four high-level Demonic Beasts dared to step forward and fight: the three kings of the Martial Arts Club from before, and the dragon maid Weima Ana Aru.
It seemed today’s escape would not be so easy…
“I knew it wouldn’t be that simple,” Qingshamu muttered. It had been far too easy leaving God and Demon Academy.
“This is no longer under the Nameless Witch’s jurisdiction,” Orange Sea Dream said coldly. “The contract can’t protect you, and the academy rules don’t apply to us anymore.”
As she spoke, the three kings of the Martial Arts Club began revealing their true forms, no longer needing to maintain a human appearance—ready for all-out battle.
A Stone Demon, a Water Element fusion, and a Heian Zhua Mo.
But what they didn’t know was that the mysterious female swordsman before them could also lift her own seals.
