Colin was feeling a bit dazed now, still unable to fully grasp what Riamie had just said.
What? What do you mean? Go in? Go in where? Into the tent? Us? Who is “us”? Me and Riamie? Why do we have to go in??? Sleep together? Really? Is this even real?
Though Colin was thoroughly confused, the flush on Riamie’s cheeks and her fidgeting hands clearly showed that what she said was genuine.
Seeing Colin hesitate, Riamie didn’t know what he was thinking, but she felt she couldn’t show any weakness at this moment. So she took the lead and entered the tent first.
Seeing this, Colin could only suppress the questions swirling in his mind and follow Riamie inside.
Once inside the tent, Riamie quickly chose the right side and sat down, seemingly trying to show that she was completely unbothered by what was about to happen.
This scene left Colin at a loss. When did Riamie become so proactive? Wasn’t she supposed to be very resistant to this kind of thing?
Unable to understand her thoughts, Colin sat down on the left side. He intended to sit quietly and think things over, but due to the small size of the tent, his arm accidentally brushed against Riamie’s chest. His body instantly froze, not knowing what to do next.
As for Riamie, although she tried hard to act indifferent, her gaze kept drifting toward Colin’s arm, and her face was slightly flushed, looking like an ordinary shy little girl.
Colin was stunned watching her until Riamie, unable to tolerate Colin’s arm lingering any longer, poked it with her finger. This finally snapped Colin back to reality, and he quickly withdrew his arm.
He apologized to Riamie, who said nothing but waved it off generously. After that, they exchanged no more words.
Soon, the surrounding atmosphere returned to quiet, but both Colin and Riamie felt their hearts growing tense.
Especially after that little episode right after entering, Riamie became even more nervous.
She had briefly suspected Colin might have done it on purpose, even wondering if all of this was part of his plan. But if that were true, wouldn’t she basically be inviting a wolf into the fold?
Riamie didn’t dare to think further. She stole a glance at Colin and found him as composed as ever, showing no signs of panic or a triumphant schemer.
Could it be that I was mistaken? Maybe it really was just an accident. That makes sense — with Colin’s straightforward nature, how could he have devised such a plan? I’m probably just overthinking.
Riamie had already doubted her own suspicion, and seeing Colin’s calmness completely dispelled her doubts.
But now, what should she do? Riamie suddenly wondered. Should they just go straight to sleep? Or do something else first? Like, what? Play a game?
She remembered the “Great Adventurer” game from that morning and actually felt like playing it again now. Just as she was about to mention it to Colin, she realized she hadn’t even brought the game with her.
After all, she came here expecting a fight and naturally wouldn’t have brought a game along.
So, Riamie could only lower her head in disappointment. The only option left was to sleep!
With that thought, Riamie decided not to overthink it and just sleep. After all, Colin wouldn’t do anything inappropriate — she was just scared for no reason. It’s only sleeping together!
Riamie was about to take off her clothes to sleep, but just as she lifted the hem, she remembered something very important: Should she really take off her clothes?
She hesitated again, unsure whether she should sleep in her clothes or not. It felt strange to sleep fully dressed, but if she undressed, would Colin really have no objections?
Thinking this, Riamie glanced toward Colin. But when she turned her head, she saw something terrifying: Colin had already taken off his clothes!
Colin had neatly folded his clothes beside him. He came in a hurry today, wearing no armor, only carrying the Holy Sword. So he was dressed in casual clothes, which were easy to remove.
As for why he took off his clothes, it was because after a fierce battle between his left and right brain, he was won over by the courage of his left brain. He thought his left brain was right — it was just sleeping together, what’s the big deal? Besides, Riamie hadn’t objected either.
So, wanting to get a good rest for tomorrow’s exploration and stop worrying about the current situation, Colin quickly stripped down and prepared to sleep through the night.
But from Riamie’s perspective, it was different. She had looked away just a moment and suddenly noticed Colin was down to just his underwear. How was this not awkward?
Colin, however, didn’t want to pay attention to such things. He just wanted to fall asleep quickly. Once asleep, all these worries would disappear. Just sleep!
So, while Riamie was still in shock, Colin had already rolled over and slipped into his sleeping bag, leaving behind a simple “Good night.”
This left Riamie at a loss, not knowing what to do. But seeing Colin really go to sleep, she could only follow suit.
After a while, Riamie found herself unable to fall asleep. She looked at Colin’s back and wanted to say something to ease the tension.
“Um, Colin, are you asleep?”
After a short pause, Colin’s muffled voice came.
“…No.”
Then the atmosphere froze. Riamie didn’t know what to say next, and Colin gave no other response. They stayed like that for a while until Riamie finally spoke again.
“…Colin? If I really can’t change back, what should I do?”
Riamie didn’t know why she asked this now — it was hardly a good time for such a question. But she asked it subconsciously. Once the words left her mouth, all she could do was wait for Colin’s reply.
…
After a moment of silence, just as Riamie thought Colin had fallen asleep, his serious voice came through.
“If that really happens, I’ll take responsibility. After all, it’s because of me that you ended up like this.”
Though Colin added afterward that he didn’t mean anything strange by it, Riamie still felt reassured.
Because when Colin said that, she suddenly thought — even if she really couldn’t turn back, there was nothing to worry about. As long as Colin was around, everything would be fine, right?
Thinking that, Riamie wanted to say something to lighten Colin’s seriousness. But before she could speak, a figure appeared outside the tent. Judging by the build, it was a… young woman?
Before Riamie could wonder what she wanted, a familiar voice came through.
“Um, senpai? Miss Riamie? Are you in there? I left in such a hurry earlier that I forgot to mention — since there aren’t enough tents in camp, the leader said you should share a tent with me. I hope you don’t mind? If you do, you can sleep with Miss Sifney and the others instead.”
After these words, both Riamie and Colin fell silent.
