At the same time, it wasn’t just the human army that was under attack.
Within the borders, the Lords observed their every move.
Simultaneously, both the Dwarven and Elven races suffered attacks from the Lords of Boar and Goat.
However, the methods of the Lords of Goat and Rat were almost identical—they knew their forces couldn’t stand against the two armies, so they resorted to guerrilla tactics to stall them.
Likewise, the armies of both races paid them little mind.
From the very beginning, their goal had been clear—to head straight for the Subordinate Continent.
As for the harassment from these border forces, they would settle the score with these border factions in due time.
Unlike both, the Elven battlefield was different.
In this Grey Wasteland, the filthy power corroded the pure bodies of the elves, leaving a subtle, almost imperceptible impact on their condition.
Moreover, what they faced was not a probing attack from border forces, but the full-scale assault of an entire city.
On the desolate plains, all the elves stood arrayed in formation, weapons in hand, fully alert, eyes vigilant as they scanned their surroundings.
At this moment, the surroundings were shrouded in gloom.
Within the impenetrable Black Mist, strange figures seemed to lurk, letting out low, menacing growls.
The Elven commander’s expression was grim.
Of the three races, they had the least disputes with the border forces.
The elves only knew about those border powers surrounding the Mortal Continent, but their understanding of the other Lords was vague at best.
According to the intel, this eerie Black Mist didn’t belong to the Lords of Goat or Rat.
She furrowed her brow, sensing a hint of danger.
If they ran into one of the border City Lords, she feared the entire army would be buried here today.
Yet among all the Lords, those who could annihilate the three hundred thousand-strong, five-clan elven army with just one city’s power numbered no more than three.
As the Black Mist spread, the movement range of the elven army shrank steadily.
The Light Elves within the army immediately gathered, activating the Power of Light in an attempt to disperse the Black Mist—but to no effect.
If they couldn’t disperse it, then they would absorb it!
The Dark Elves stepped forward next, trying to rouse the darkness within their bodies to devour the surrounding Black Mist.
But the moment the two forces collided, it was as if their throats were being choked—their life force drained away at a terrifying rate.
In the blink of an eye, one after another, the Dark Elves collapsed, turning into withered corpses on the ground.
They couldn’t disperse it, nor could they absorb it!
Now, even the commander’s face grew grim.
She stepped forward, addressing the Black Mist before her.
“My Elven race has no grievances with your faction. Why block our way?”
Her melodious voice disappeared into the mist, like a stone sinking into the sea—no reply came.
“Do you know the consequences of offending the Elven race?!”
Softness had no effect.
The commander immediately threatened, but still received no response.
As the Black Mist was about to engulf the army, she drew her sword and leaped from her elk mount, bursting forth with dazzling Gold Light.
Seeing the commander act, all the Light Elves in the army instantly released their Power of Light, merging it with hers.
The blazing Gold Light pierced through the Black Mist in an instant, illuminating the path ahead.
The commander could now see the solitary figure standing atop a hill not far away.
The other wore black garments, a pristine White Mask unmarred by dust, flowing black hair cascading down, a refined and alluring figure, eyes cold and soul-piercing—a woman.
Though her features were obscured, the elegant curves alone spoke of a beauty capable of toppling nations.
But when she saw the emblem on the forehead of the mask, she froze, eyes wide with shock, her hair standing on end.
It was a black Wild Boar Head, its long tusks savagely etched across the mask.
The Lord of Boar!
She had never seen the real person, but still understood the terror she represented.
How could she be here? Wasn’t she supposed to be on the border between the Mortal and Fallen lands!?
Within the Black Mist, there was no one but the Lord of Boar.
With just her power alone, she had stopped the Elven army of three hundred thousand.
This attack wasn’t a coincidence—the human and dwarven armies must also be under assault.
Several border City Lords had joined forces!
“I’ll give you two choices—come with me, or, for the so-called honor of your race, try fighting me.”
The Lord of Boar spoke coldly, her tone devoid of emotion, as if discussing an insignificant matter.
“General, the enemy is alone…”
A deputy stepped forward to advise the commander, but before he could finish, he dissolved into a pool of blood.
Blood splattered onto the faces of several nearby elves, their pupils contracting in terror as dread surged through them.
The Lord of Boar was waiting for the commander’s answer—any unnecessary words would be punished with death.
“Senior, we mean no offense. I swear to withdraw at once. Please show mercy.”
The commander immediately bowed, also giving the Lord an honorable way out.
Even someone as powerful as the Lord of Boar couldn’t take on the entire Elven race.
Silence.
The Lord of Boar did not reply, still standing quietly.
Cold sweat covered the commander’s face as she gritted her teeth, head bowed, wrestling with her decision.
To follow the enemy meant betraying her people—something she could never agree to.
But to fight, there was no hope of victory.
What to do?
One word—escape.
She gambled that in a full retreat, the enemy could not annihilate every single elf.
If even one elf escaped to deliver the news, the endless vengeance of the Elven race would be unleashed.
Sssaa~
At that moment, rustling sounds echoed around them.
She looked about, despair filling her eyes.
Massive, jet-black trolls with enormous tusks emerged around the elven army, sealing every path of retreat.
The enemy was not alone—she had brought the forces of the Twelve Border Cities.
The commander glanced back at her soldiers.
They would not die in vain.
“Kill!”
