After graduating from university, Li Yaru’s first official job was joining the Investment Department of Shenghui Group.
Those years happened to coincide with their marriage, and Zhuang Qiting displayed a terrifying possessiveness toward her, wishing he could spend all twenty-four hours a day with her.
The two of them entering and leaving the company together had already become an open secret.
Zhuang Qiting even insisted on bringing her along whenever he went on business trips.
Grand Master Zhuang asked if he had lost his mind, but he calmly replied, “Since you want her to take on the duties of the Zhuang Family’s eldest daughter-in-law, you should let me help her gain more experience. No matter who she follows, she’ll learn more and learn faster by staying at my side.”
Grand Master Zhuang was left speechless by his eldest son, who was blinded by lust. In the end, he simply chose to turn a blind eye.
Those years, Li Yaru truly saw the world.
She grew quickly and changed rapidly, transforming from someone who knew nothing about financial investment into someone who learned to start her own investment company, earning the first real fortune of her life.
Of course, she was also thoroughly squeezed by Zhuang Qiting.
A man’s desire only grew with each passing day, while she was young, playful, and though she liked it, she wasn’t obsessed—after all, there were plenty of fun things around her that caught her attention.
Zhuang Qiting never considered abstinence; he could only use threats and temptations on his wife, employing every trick in the book, often leaving Li Yaru at the edge of life and death.
Back when Shenghui Tower was being built, Zhuang Qiting had already planned to construct a secret haven in his office.
As long as Li Yaru was comfortable, he too could be satisfied.
So, the space behind the hidden door was even more spacious and grand than his office.
In twenty years, it had been renovated countless times.
The furnishings were all sumptuous and luxurious—everything that Li Yaru loved.
After divorcing his wife, Zhuang Qiting spent every lunch break lying alone in this haven, staring at a certain painting, sinking into memories and contemplation.
He had long understood a truth: it wasn’t that Li Yaru couldn’t leave him; it was that he couldn’t leave Li Yaru—neither in body nor in heart.
The gauze curtains were tightly drawn, blocking out the bright daylight.
Li Yaru was carried from his bedroom to the living room, clinging to him like a koala.
Even though he was supporting her, his steps didn’t pause, nor did the force or rhythm, occasionally jolting her wickedly.
She let out a series of soft whimpers, her fingers clutching tightly, “Zhuang Qiting…”
“Don’t call me by my name.”
He always walked in long, confident strides, but now his pace was slow and unhurried, every step deliberate, his narrow waist exuding dominance with each movement.
“Call me husband, Ah Rou. Just once, and I’ll do whatever you say.”
Beads of sweat dotted Li Yaru’s forehead, her snow-white skin flushed pink.
Her head rested weakly on his shoulder, still reeling from the overwhelming sensation.
But Zhuang Qiting refused to let her recover, and just to achieve his goal, he suddenly intensified his movements.
A thin, translucent white layer was formed.
Li Yaru’s eyes blurred with tears, and she bit his shoulder, “Husband!—Husband!”
Six years. She had held back that word, refusing to utter it for six years.
Husband. He was, after all, her husband. No court order, nor six years of struggle, could change that fact.
Zhuang Qiting cradled the weight in his arms, letting out a sigh, feeling his soul receive a comfort never felt before—far more stirring and satisfying than any physical sensation.
Before he could even savor this feeling of regaining what was lost, the floodgates suddenly gave way, and he poured everything out.
Of course, Li Yaru felt his overwhelming excitement and lost control, angrily slapping him, “Filthy thing, filthy thing.”
Zhuang Qiting, still savoring the aftertaste, placed her on the sofa.
Even now, he couldn’t bear to part, staying close together.
The woman’s knees were pressed up on either side of his shoulders, her trembling soles resting on his chest, lacking the strength to kick him away.
The two of them maintained this strange posture, looking at each other.
Zhuang Qiting tenderly wiped the sweat from her forehead, coaxing gently, “Don’t worry, baby. I took my medication.”
All these years, he had always taken the male oral medication prescribed by the doctor on time, with great effectiveness and minimal side effects.
Li Yaru was, of course, not angry about that.
She knew Zhuang Qiting would never do something so immoral, but having his mess all over was still infuriating! Not to mention, he was still pressing against her!
“Get out.”
“Just a moment longer.”
Zhuang Qiting released her legs and hugged her as they lay together on the soft, dry sofa.
“Let me hold you for five minutes.” He coaxed her softly.
“I don’t believe you at all.” Li Yaru’s breath was unsteady, too exhausted to crawl away, so she was left trapped in his arms.
“What’s wrong with your husband’s things? Haven’t you always enjoyed them?”
“Shut up… Who ever enjoyed them? You forced me.”
Li Yaru suddenly realized something was wrong—this man was using “husband” in every sentence now, really getting into it!
“Zhuang Qiting, if you say ‘husband’ one more time, I’ll hit you.”
Zhuang Qiting, his breath hot, laughed, his chest vibrating slightly, “Then hit me.”
“You—” Li Yaru, “You rascal.”
He didn’t let her move.
“Just let me hold you for five minutes. Calm down, wife.”
“……………”
.
After such wild antics in the office, both of them seemed to crave more.
Li Yaru couldn’t deny that Zhuang’s—well, he certainly had a lot of tricks up his sleeve.
A few days later, thinking of this, she called him to come to the Li Residence, but to her surprise, he actually put on airs.
【Wife, you come to the company this afternoon.】
【What do you mean? Are you putting on airs now?】
【I’ll wait for you in the office.】
Li Yaru bit her lip, cursing him a hundred times in her heart—old rascal.
He just wanted to do it in the office! At his age, how could he still be so bad?
Li Yaru’s face was red, but she couldn’t resist the temptation.
She changed into a discreet black suit, drove to Shenghui Group, and—being smart this time—took the most ordinary car, entering directly into the underground parking lot’s B1 level.
Level B1 was only open to executives, so there were few cars and people.
She carried a large bag containing a laptop for cover and went straight to Zhuang Qiting’s private elevator.
Only after entering did her tense expression finally relax.
My god. Whose wife comes to her husband’s office every day and stays for three or four hours at a time?
Luckily, no one saw.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, Li Yaru saw the man waiting at the door.
He looked distinguished in an off-white suit, the smooth fabric threaded with a hint of silver.
The jacket was unbuttoned casually, giving off a true old-money gentleman’s vibe.
He held two glasses of champagne, handing her one with a smile, “Thank you for coming, wife.”
Li Yaru glared at him, drank the champagne in one gulp, then shoved the empty glass back into his hand.
Her gaze lingered on his dashing outfit for a few seconds, inhaling his scent and muttering “old rascal” under her breath.
The elevator doors closed, and Zhuang Qiting pressed pause on the controls, then eagerly reached for Li Yaru.
Shenghui Group had four private elevators: one for Zhuang Qiting alone, going straight to his office; one for executives; one for board members; and one that, ever since becoming Chairwoman and CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board, Zhuang Shaozhou had claimed for himself.
Zhuang Qiting didn’t allow Zhuang Shaozhou to use his elevator, so Zhuang Shaozhou simply started his own.
The old man didn’t bother with such trivialities anyway.
Li Yaru thought her disguise was perfect and didn’t meet anyone on the way, but even so, she was still spotted.
Chen Weiqi had been hiding in the car, waiting for her mother-in-law to enter the elevator before daring to get out.
Zhuang Shaozhou was already feeling impatient, urging Chen Weiqi to hurry up.
The moment she got in, he couldn’t wait to kiss her.
The two had just married, so being all over each other was understandable.
Chen Weiqi couldn’t stand him acting like a beast and pushed his face away, “I’m trying to tell you something serious.”
“Isn’t this serious?” Zhuang Shaozhou grinned.
Chen Weiqi shot him a slow glance, her delicate eyes full of gossip. “Shh, guess who I just saw?”
“Who?” Zhuang Shaozhou turned to the fridge, grabbed three oranges, peeled them skillfully, and tossed them into the juicer.
The juice flowed, filling the air with a fresh aroma.
Chen Weiqi eagerly took a sip, then whispered mysteriously, “Your mommy!”
“……………”
“She went into your daddy’s private elevator!”
“……………”
Zhuang Shaozhou’s expression was complicated.
No way, the old man was that old and still playing around like this?
Mrs. Li had been too lenient! No wonder the old man had been in such high spirits lately, all smiles with everyone.
He felt like laughing at his dad—and a little at himself, too.
“Dad and Mom are definitely together again,” Chen Weiqi declared. “No wonder Dad gave me a hard time last time. No, I need to do something to fix my image.”
Zhuang Shaozhou frowned, “I don’t even bother with them—let them have their fun. The old man is famous for being hard to please; don’t go sticking your warm face to his cold behind.”
He went over to hug his newlywed wife, “You’re my wife—why bother pleasing the old man? If he bullies you, I’ll stand up for you.”
Chen Weiqi laughed.
“I’m just contributing to Dad and Mom’s happiness—what do you know?”
“The old man lights up whenever he sees Mrs. Li. What more could he want?”
“I’m not arguing with you. You just stick to your way. Anyway, I have to fix my image.”
Too lazy to bicker, after pondering, Chen Weiqi sent a little gift to Li Yaru.
It was a furry Dog Ear Headband—black and pink, with little dog ears.
It was a leftover prop from Reberi’s Christmas Eve event.
Inside the gift box was a card: 【Mom, this headband is adorable. I thought you’d like it, so I saved one for you.】
Li Yaru hadn’t expected such a thoughtful gift from her daughter-in-law.
She loved it so much that she put it on right away, but unfortunately, the size was a bit big for her small head, and it slid off after just a few seconds.
Li Yaru tried to tighten the headband but was afraid of breaking it, so she could only stare at it helplessly.
After a few minutes, with no solution, she decided to leave it as it was and went out to a gathering with her friends.
That evening, Zhuang Qiting picked up Li Yaru and brought her back to the Li Residence.
This man now called her “wife” every day, and when she tried to smack his mouth, he just held her hand and kissed her palm.
Li Yaru had had enough. Thinking back to the time he made her call him “husband,” breaking six years of silence, she felt it was too much of a bargain for him.
Under the moonlight, the Li Residence looked like a glowing pearl, waiting for its owner to return.
“Wife, do you want to shower first, or together?” Zhuang Qiting, like every man coming home, took off his jacket and loosened his tie, looking at Li Yaru with relaxed eyes.
Li Yaru found it amusing. The way he acted—he really had taken over, treating the Li Residence as his own domain.
“You go shower in the guest room.”
“Married couples shouldn’t sleep in separate rooms—that’s the rule.”
“……………”
How are we even married!!
Zhuang Qiting didn’t even look at her and headed straight for the master bedroom.
Li Yaru hurried after him, pounding his back a few times with her fists.
As soon as they entered the room, Zhuang Qiting saw the opened gift box on the sofa with the furry Dog Ear Headband in full view.
He frowned and quickly picked it up before Li Yaru could snatch it away.
He examined it closely, “What’s this?”
Li Yaru said, “Weiwei gave it to me. Hey, don’t mess with it.”
Zhuang Qiting gave her a strange look, “Why would Chen give you this? Isn’t this what those rascals wore at the Christmas party?”
Li Yaru was about to ask about his strange look, but when she heard him mention those rascals, inspiration struck. Her eyes lit up, “Zhuang Qiting!”
Her call was sweet and crisp, like a bell, hitting Zhuang Qiting right in the heart, making him almost miss a beat.
She stared at him with sparkling eyes, not saying a word, just looking.
Zhuang Qiting, feeling a little awkward under her gaze, sharply guessed her intentions and refused with a cold face, “Don’t even think about it, Li Yaru.”
Don’t even think about putting this ridiculous thing on his head. He wasn’t one of those rascals.
Li Yaru grinned, hugging him, “Just try it, for me. It’s too big for me, but your head is bigger, so it’ll fit you.”
Zhuang Qiting’s brows were tightly knit.
He tossed the headband onto the sofa, face stony, “No way. I’ll agree to anything else, but not this.”
Li Yaru asked, “Why not? You already let me ride your face—what’s so bad about a headband?” She picked it up, pinching the fuzzy ears, “It’s so cute.”
Zhuang Qiting stared at her sharply, thinking about other men using this kind of silly trick to please her, his anger and desire both surging.
Letting her ride him was because he loved her, but that didn’t mean he wanted to act like those rascals.
“No way.” He refused again, taking off his jacket and unbuttoning his shirt.
“Zhuang Qiting… Just wear it once, and I’ll grant you one wish.”
Zhuang Qiting tightened his jaw, calmly sizing up his wife. One wish… Would wearing this really get him one wish?
“Anything?”
“Except remarrying. Anything else.”
Zhuang Qiting was completely blocked by that answer, staring coldly at Li Yaru, “You’re my wife. We’re already remarried.”
Li Yaru smiled, not bothering to argue, just saying, “Just try it, for me! Zhuang, I promise no one in the world will know—only you and me. Look, I’ll toss my phone away. I won’t take any pictures, you can relax.”
Li Yaru’s heart itched, desperate to see Zhuang Qiting look like a little puppy. Weiwei’s gift was perfect! It was exactly what she wanted!
Zhuang Qiting swallowed, clearly struggling with the request.
From birth until now, through half his life, even if his wife hit him, scolded him, or climbed on top, he had always maintained his pride as heaven’s favored son—he wasn’t like other men.
This headband… was for rascals.
“This New Year’s Eve, you’ll accompany me back to the Zhuang residence, publicly acknowledge our relationship, and from now on, every time you see me, you have to call me husband.”
Li Yaru burst out laughing, “You’re asking too much!”
“Then I won’t wear it. Forget it.” Zhuang Qiting turned disdainfully toward the bathroom.
“Hey—hey!” Li Yaru chased after him, hugging his waist.
Desperate to get what she wanted, she coaxed him, “Alright, alright, I promise, husband, please just put it on, quick.”
Li Yaru pressed Zhuang Qiting down onto the bed, sat on him, and quickly put the headband on his head.
The man’s cold, stern face stayed stern, but on top of his head was an adorable, furry Dog Ear Headband.
His jet-black eyes stared at her like a hawk.
The scene was so absurd that Li Yaru burst into laughter.
“Hahahahahahaha! Zhuang Qiting! You—I can’t take it, you really—”
Zhuang Qiting grabbed her wrist and dragged her onto his lap, locking her chin and kissing her.
Li Yaru didn’t resist, opening her lips and letting his hot, wet tongue sweep inside.
She felt like she was kissing a grumpy, human-shaped puppy.
