Winnie was the first to sense something was wrong.
They charged forward, but the enemy didn’t attack. Instead, the attacks stopped altogether.
It was as if they were being invited to cross over!
Doubt in her heart brought forth worry.
But Winnie also understood that staying put was a road to death!
They had no reinforcements, no supplies!
They might even lose their fighting spirit as their comrades died one after another!
So they had to break through!
Even if only a few made it, even if just one person escaped this dense forest, it was still better than waiting to be worn down and die!
“It’s a pity. You didn’t choose to retreat, to go back toward the fortress.”
Kebo suddenly stepped out from the side where the elves had been attacking.
Under the firelight and the darkness of night, the smile on his face was twisted.
“Instead, you chose to charge head-on. Should I say that decision was wise and brave, or that it played right into my hands?”
“Wh… What!?”
Karo Mama turned around in terror.
“Kill!”
Over a hundred Restoration Army soldiers charged out from the dense forest behind them.
They brandished swords and knives, their faces excited and bloodthirsty.
“Watch your back!”
Karo Mama shouted.
But the elves at the front were already engaged with the surrounding enemies, unable to spare any attention.
“Don’t bother shouting. It’s a net—our people are everywhere, you can’t escape.”
Swish!
In the blink between life and death, Kebo twisted his body.
An Arrow infused with Thunder Magic brushed past his head.
The Enchanted Arrow pinned itself to a small tree behind him and exploded.
Wood chips flew everywhere, terrifying and fierce!
The words Kebo hadn’t finished speaking were forced back down his throat. He touched his head, still in shock.
Fortunately, it was still there.
Immediately, murderous rage and fury turned toward the direction the arrow had come from.
He saw Winnie Kanasha aiming at him once more.
“Die!”
“Damn!”
Kebo cursed and dodged, scrambling into the dense forest behind him.
Seeing this, Winnie switched targets, shooting down two Restoration Army soldiers beside her with a single arrow.
The Arrow pierced through the first man’s head, only stopping when it embedded in the skull of the second.
Within moments, the heavy use of Magic and physical strength to fire Arrows left Winnie gasping for breath.
If that previous shot had come when she was at her peak, she could have replicated the technique she used against Vilith—
Making the Arrow bend!
If so, Kebo might already have lost his head.
But unfortunately, both sides had already exchanged countless shots in the open ground earlier, draining much of her strength.
“Winnie!”
At that moment, Jenfenny’s voice rang in her ears.
Karo Mama yanked her suddenly, sending Winnie’s delicate body stumbling forward.
A straight spear landed where she had just been standing.
There was no time to think. Restoration Army soldiers surged in from all directions.
Long blades and spears slashed toward her—Winnie hastily drew two Short Daggers from her waist, blocking a sword that was coming down.
Clang!
Sparks flew as metal clashed, and Winnie kicked the man down, quickly shielding Karo Mama as they retreated.
A glance around, filled with fear, revealed Jenfenny not far away, fighting alongside two Male Elves.
For now, they seemed safe.
But they were surrounded by Restoration Army soldiers—danger everywhere!
“In close combat, there’s not enough time to use high-level Magic. Winnie, protect me. I’ll use Magic to clear a path!”
Karo Mama’s urgent voice sounded in her ear, and Winnie nodded.
“Don’t worry, Mama!”
Taking a deep breath, Winnie clenched her pink fists and charged forward with a roar.
“Die!”
The Restoration Army soldier opposite her didn’t retreat, but thrust his spear forward.
Winnie rolled, kicking away the tip of the spear.
Then, like a throwing knife, she flung her Short Dagger—charged with faint Thunder Magic.
“Urgh… Urgh…”
The Restoration Army soldier clutched his wounded throat and fell, blood spraying.
Winnie retrieved her Short Dagger, letting the warm blood splatter onto her body.
Her eyes cold, she turned to face two more Restoration Army soldiers advancing with weapons raised.
“Kill!”
Behind her, Karo Mama continuously unleashed Earth Spikes.
Restoration Army soldiers caught off guard screamed as the spikes pierced their feet, and then were slain by the Elves.
Karo Mama followed behind Winnie, aiding her and providing cover for the surrounding Elves.
But even so, the despair on Karo Mama’s face deepened.
About three hundred Restoration Army soldiers were locked in fierce battle with the Elves.
Outnumbered, each Elf faced several opponents at once!
Traps were everywhere, robbing the Elves of their natural advantages!
An Elf leaped into the treetops, hoping to use agility to strike from above.
But as soon as he landed, a hidden Restoration Army soldier revealed himself with a cruel grin!
A long sword pierced the Elf’s chest. He fell from the tree before he could react.
He died with his eyes wide open!
Nearby, another Elf saw his comrade fall and roared, launching a ferocious attack!
Two Restoration Army soldiers fell back under his assault, about to be cut down.
But suddenly, the Elf stepped into a concealed pit—
Bamboo spikes within impaled his body!
In the midst of battle, a cold Arrow shot from a nearby tree, piercing an Elf’s head.
Elsewhere, Magic flashed from the grass—a blinding burst of light!
In the instant their eyes were blinded, an enemy spear claimed another Elf.
Countless Traps, paired with Restoration Army soldiers, harvested Elf lives.
Male Elves were the warriors of the Elven Race, defenders of their homeland!
But in this unfamiliar forest, with countless Traps laid in advance, they could only die with hatred!
They could only watch as Female Elves were shackled, trapped in nets, knocked unconscious and dragged away…
Male Elves fell one after another. Female Elves were captured.
Dying Elves glared in fury, blood gushing as they unleashed one final spell in their last moments!
With these desperate counterattacks, the Restoration Army also suffered heavy losses.
Kebo watched the battlefield coldly.
“Shit~ Even dead, these damn Elves bite off a chunk of my flesh. It’s infuriating!”
The number of Elves dwindled, their fighting figures growing fewer and fewer.
An hour later, the Elves were dead or captured.
Only Winnie remained, shielding the wounded Karo Mama.
Jenfenny, beside them, was drenched in blood.
In her arms, the last Male Elf of their group breathed his last.
“S… S… Sorry… Jenfenny…”
“No! No! No!!”
Jenfenny screamed to the sky, veins bulging on her pale neck, her vision blood-red.
“I’ll kill you all! Kill you! Beasts! I’ll never forgive you!”
“Enough.”
Kebo approached with his men, looking at the three surrounded figures.
“Save your strength. If you don’t have any energy left when we enjoy you later, it won’t be any fun.”
“Kebo! You’ll die a miserable death!”
Winnie cursed.
Kebo only laughed triumphantly.
“Hahaha… I don’t know about dying a miserable death—but you, Winnie Kanasha… I know your fate.”
“You’ll become a slave, a tool for millions to vent their desires on—worse than death!”
His words sent a chill through the three women. Fear and hatred twisted their faces.
“I’d rather die than be captured by you!”
Winnie raised her Short Dagger to her throat.
“Take one more step and I’ll kill myself!”
Clap, clap, clap!
Kebo applauded, certain of victory.
“Truly a heroine, facing death without fear. However…”
He sneered and made a gesture.
Behind him, Restoration Army soldiers pushed several Elves forward.
“Now, drop your weapons and surrender! For every refusal, I’ll kill one!”
“If any of you try to take your own life, these captives will die with you!”
“Despicable!”
Winnie spat, rage and hatred urging her to strike.
But Kebo remained unbothered.
“Haha, despicable? So what?”
“Choose, Winnie Kanasha! Time is running out.”
