Elena supported Millie, who pretended to be limp, swaying unsteadily as she followed her toward the stage.
Being so physically close in front of others made Millie quite shy. Her cheeks flushed involuntarily, adding a touch of bashfulness to her appearance.
The witch on the stage immediately approached them.
“Lady Elena, what happened to your companion?”
“I was a bit rough, and she collapsed from exhaustion,” Elena said, looking at Millie dotingly. “Do you have any empty rooms here? I’d like to take her to rest.”
“Well…”
Dora hesitated for a moment.
The customers who came here were all whipped into a frenzy by aphrodisiacs. They were tireless, knowing only how to follow their biological instincts. How could she be “a bit tired”?
What were these two up to?
“Do you not even have a spare room here?”
“Ah, we do,” Dora said, snapping back to reality. “If you don’t mind, please go to the side hall to rest.”
Regardless of anything else, Elena was still a witch. Even if their ideologies differed, they were still on the same side. There was no reason to refuse such a reasonable request.
Furthermore, Elena was the leader of the Blood Alliance. There might be times when they would need to help each other in the future, so she couldn’t afford to offend her.
Thus, Dora called over a subordinate.
Even if they were from the same camp, she couldn’t be careless. Who knew what Elena was planning? She quietly instructed her subordinate to keep a close eye on Elena and her “little wife,” then turned back to Elena with a smile.
“Please forgive our lack of hospitality.”
“This colleague will take you to the side hall. Both of you can rest in the camp for the night. Tomorrow morning, I will arrange a carriage to escort everyone out of here.”
“Then I’ll trouble you.”
Elena thanked her with just the right amount of politeness to avoid looking suspicious. The assigned witch then led Elena and Millie out of the basement through the back door.
By the time they returned to the surface, the moon was bright and the stars were sparse. Millie looked up at the starry sky and deduced from the angle of the moon that it was currently nine o’clock at night.
“This way, please.”
The witch led the way and soon arrived at a nearby thatched house. It was a three-story building with a structure similar to an apartment, looking very simple.
They went to the third floor, where the witch found an empty room.
“You two can rest here.”
“Mm, thank you for the hospitality.”
Elena supported Millie as they walked into the room. Millie had been acting limp the whole way, not just for the performance, but also to tease Elena. She pressed her entire weight onto Elena like a dead dog. It took Elena quite a bit of effort to haul her up to the third floor.
Every now and then, Millie would flash her a mocking smile.
Elena knew exactly what she was doing, but she couldn’t lash out. Since they had to pretend to be a couple and the plan was in its final stages, she couldn’t let their efforts go to waste.
“Please do not wander around. There are many traps and mechanisms here; it wouldn’t be good if you were accidentally injured.”
“Don’t worry, we are just resting.”
The witch was still uneasy, but she didn’t want to intrude further. She gave a shallow bow and bid farewell to Elena and Millie.
As soon as the door closed, Millie’s true colors came out.
She pushed Elena away and glared at her crossly. She wanted to call her a rogue, but Elena immediately covered her mouth.
“Mmph, mmph! — “
Millie tried to break free, but it was useless. Elena was surprisingly strong and held her tightly by the back.
“Shh, keep your voice down. Don’t think the witch is gone; she’s still nearby monitoring us!”
“Mmph, mm! “
Seeing Millie nod, Elena finally released her. Millie wiped the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand.
“Sister Elena, I want more! ~~”
In short, she would start by acting pampered.
Millie had become quite skilled at this, slipping into character in less than half a second. Sweet words and endearments came to her naturally.
Elena opened her mouth, staring at her in disbelief.
“Alright, we’ll cuddle more tomorrow. You should sleep early today. Besides, I’m a bit tired too.”
“Waaah, I don’t want to! I still want to cuddle!”
“Enough, stop being so thirsty!”
Elena had reached the limit of her patience. Since the witch had moved further away, she didn’t want to keep acting with Millie.
Crucially, Millie was still wearing her metal armor. Every time Millie tried to tease her, she would just bump into the cold metal, making clanging sounds. Who could stand that? It wasn’t exciting at all.
“I still have to go sabotage the summoning ritual. If you can’t calm down, go take care of it yourself on the bed.”
“I’m not ‘taking care of it’ myself—wait, what exactly would I be taking care of?!” Millie protested, her face turning crimson. “Besides, you’re the one who told me to act like this!”
“Who knew you’d be so weird when you’re acting slutty?”
“Who are you calling weird! — “
Elena ignored Millie and took out a contact crystal. She injected mana into it and tapped on the crystal three times.
The other side tapped back three times, and Elena nodded in satisfaction.
Millie was completely confused, stretching her neck to blink at Elena.
“What on earth are you doing?”
“I’m using a secret code with Roxy,” Elena explained nonchalantly.
A moment later, a knock sounded at the door. The frequency of the knock was identical to the taps from the crystal.
Elena opened the door, and there stood Roxy, dressed in a black robe.
Elena stepped aside to let Roxy in. She then poked her head out to check both sides of the corridor. After confirming no one was there, she closed the door.
“Lady Elena, I’m ready.”
“Good. First, take off your clothes.”
As she spoke, Elena began unbuttoning her own garment.
Millie was stunned. She blushed and covered her eyes, yet she peeked through the gaps between her fingers.
Not only Elena, but even Roxy began to undress. Roxy was more timid, however, facing the wall with her back to Millie, moving hesitantly.
“Didn’t you say we were going to sabotage the ritual? Why are you taking off your clothes?”
Elena gave Millie a flat look without explaining. She quickly slipped out of her evening gown. Beneath the gown were a black bra and panties.
Millie’s cheeks burned as she looked at Elena’s body. ‘Is it just my imagination, or do Elena’s physical features look remarkably similar to Felusa’s?’
If Elena had stripped completely, Millie would have been more certain, but unfortunately, Elena only stripped down to her underwear before handing the gown to Roxy.
Roxy didn’t hesitate and put on Elena’s clothes, her face turning a deep shade of red. However, Elena’s dress was a bit long, looking somewhat awkward on Roxy.
Shortly after, Roxy put on a wig and wore shoes with internal lifts to match Elena’s height.
Only then did Millie realize what was happening. They weren’t looking for a moment of passion after all.
“What exactly is going on in that head of yours?” Elena asked, donning a black cloak as she gave Millie another look.
“I… I… hmph! — “
Feeling a bit guilty, Millie chose to stay silent.
“This room has a window facing the camp square. I expect someone from the Scarlet Phantoms is monitoring us.”
“With Roxy disguised as me and sitting by the window, we can fool them. After all, from such a distance, they won’t be able to see clearly.”
“Hehe, so you aren’t stupid after all?”
“If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything…”
Elena really wanted to teach Millie a lesson, but with the bigger picture in mind, she decided not to cause any unnecessary trouble.
