“Wow~~”
Lin Yi was woken up by the sound of a baby crying.
She struggled out of bed and went to the door, where she saw Ye Qiao already cradling the baby, gently patting its back.
“Go make some formula.”
“Oh.”
“And do something about your hair.”
“Aiya.” Lin Yi absentmindedly ran her fingers through her hair a few times, then prepared the formula and handed it to the hungry, wailing child.
Ever since she returned from the hospital, her parents had adapted with remarkable speed, already arranging for her to take a month off from school. For now, this “fallen-from-the-sky” baby was being cared for at home, while they contacted the relevant authorities to see if the child belonged to someone else.
But this child looked to be about three years old, and still couldn’t speak or walk?
Whether she could walk or not was unclear, since she’d been carried the whole time, but she definitely hadn’t said a single word so far.
Looking into the child’s big, blinking eyes, Lin Yi felt a surge of inexplicable tenderness in her heart.
The moment the child first opened her eyes, they’d all been utterly charmed—those round, chubby cheeks, the big, rolling eyes, and the beauty mark at the corner of her eye. She was destined to be a great beauty in the future.
“Go change your clothes, then come back and change the diaper.” Ye Qiao ordered.
Lin Yi nodded and went to her room. Her mom had specially taken a few days off to help take care of the child and… help her get used to her unfamiliar new body, so she had to try not to cause any trouble.
She carefully took off her clothes in the room, doing her best not to touch her chest, then pulled on a loose sweatshirt and tugged her hair out from under the collar in a messy hurry.
She kind of needed to use the bathroom.
Blushing slightly, Lin Yi pressed a hand to her lower abdomen and headed to the bathroom. Out of habit, she stood in front of the toilet, then caught herself and put down the seat.
Feeling the warm liquid flow out, she couldn’t help but cover her cheeks with both hands.
After the sound of flushing, Ye Qiao watched her child come out, fidgeting, and chuckled, calling her over.
They fumbled through changing the diaper, and then Lin Yi went downstairs to throw out the trash.
Wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants, Lin Yi managed to gather up her long hair and noticed that the sun had already risen.
Maybe I’ll buy breakfast on the way back, she thought, looking ahead.
Three beautiful girls walked into her line of sight.
Huh? Lin Yi stared at the trio in the distance: one cute, one aloof, and one…?!
Long hair, peach blossom eyes, a beauty mark—wasn’t this the girl from that night?!
Chen Zhaoyue turned her head and saw a girl in black clothes and pants with long hair running toward her, holding a trash bag.
What happened? Her face was full of question marks.
***
That afternoon, after Chen Zhaoyue and her friends left the school.
In Chen Zhaoyue’s bedroom, the three girls crowded around the TV, watching… surveillance footage.
“There’s nothing here at all!” Tang Chaoyun leaned back in frustration.
Luo Qing gave her a disdainful look. “Knew you had no patience.”
Hoh! Hearing the taunt, Tang Chaoyun was about to retort when Chen Zhaoyue interrupted, “Someone’s coming.”
Eh? She sat up and saw on the screen that a boy had ridden a bike to the same place where she and Chen Zhaoyue had watched the Meteor.
There was no surveillance on that small hill, but judging by where he parked and walked, he was probably there to watch the Meteor too.
“So there really is someone.” Tang Chaoyun looked surprised. Although she had agreed to help Chen Zhaoyue investigate, it was still unexpected to find that there might actually be something behind Chen Zhaoyue’s gut feeling.
“So what now?” Luo Qing asked.
“Rewind—see where he came from.”
……
“Haicheng University, Lin Yi.”
Chen Zhaoyue stared thoughtfully at the documents in her hand. With the three young ladies joining forces, they’d quickly dug up every detail about Lin Yi.
“Ohhh, so this is the young lady’s dream lover?” Tang Chaoyun shoved Luo Qing’s head aside to get a look at Lin Yi’s photo.
……Luo Qing glanced at the completely empty spot next to Chen Zhaoyue.
“No impression, no feelings.”
Chen Zhaoyue rubbed her temples, and after a moment, smacked the table and decided, “I heard he’s on leave from school—let’s go to his house and look for him.”

“You, you are—!”
“I am?”
The two stared wide-eyed at each other.
“Wow, Chen Zhaoyue, where did you pick up such a pretty little sister this time?” Tang Chaoyun exclaimed, looking at Lin Yi in amazement.
Luo Qing also studied the girl in front of her. Even though she wasn’t dressed up and looked like she just woke up, she was still strikingly beautiful.
An oval face, clear fawn-like eyes, a delicate, well-shaped nose—standing next to Chen Zhaoyue, it was truly one Capital Beauty, one Lotus Emerging from Water.
“Who are you?” Miss Chen eyed her warily.
“I’m the one who watched the Meteor with you before. When the Meteor fell, remember?”
After everything she’d experienced, seeing someone who’d “shared adversity” with her made Lin Yi uncontrollably excited. She just wanted to talk with her—maybe they could figure out a way to turn back.
“How do you know I’m looking for people connected to the Meteor? Do you know Lin Yi?” Chen Zhaoyue leaned back, clearly not believing her, and with how excited she looked, she half expected the trash bag to be flung in her face.
Lin Yi paused, suddenly aware of her current situation. She took a breath to calm herself, then said, “I am Lin Yi. Ever since the Meteor fell, I’ve become like this.”
Huh? What is this person saying?
The three girls all felt like they’d just met a lunatic.
“Little sister, you’re saying you’re Lin Yi? The Meteor changed your gender?” Tang Chaoyun said with a laugh.
“If you don’t believe me, I can take you to my house,” Lin Yi said to Chen Zhaoyue.
Luo Qing looked skeptical and was about to speak, but Chen Zhaoyue cut her off, “Where do you live?”
“Building 7, Room 301.”
Tang Chaoyun and Luo Qing exchanged a look—wasn’t that where Lin Yi lived?
Could it be that this girl was telling the truth, or was she someone Lin Yi knew?
“Take us there,” Chen Zhaoyue strode forward.
“Wait a second.”
“Hm?”
“…Let me throw away the trash.”
