Framework.
An Ling groggily opened her eyes, overhead were drooping thatch and wooden boards.
She suddenly sat up, looking at the fire pit outside the tent, now reduced to ashes.
Dawn had already broken.
This sleep hadn’t been comfortable at all.
An Ling felt as if her entire body was falling apart, with an indescribable soreness everywhere.
She stood up, stepped outside the tent, brushed off the thatch sticking to her clothes, and stretched her limbs.
Only then did the discomfort start to fade.
“The second day already. This time, I have to make the most of it.”
An Ling silently resolved.
Her food reserves weren’t plentiful; she wasn’t in the position to be eating breakfast luxuriously.
At the very least, she needed to assess today’s haul before making any decisions.
Her points increased by two again, based on her cleanliness and satiety levels, bringing her total to 6 points.
Soon, she’d be able to exchange for a Foundation Card to expand her island.
She picked up the fishing rod and was about to begin today’s gathering when the pendant swinging at her neck reminded her she hadn’t prayed for blessings yet.
Spinning the pendant, the small pale gold cube atop it whirled rapidly before settling.
Facing her was a pattern showing two little people.
【Blessing Pendant Bonus Acquired: Double Blessings. All gathered supplies will be doubled.】
【Remaining Time: 17:03:43】
“This is good.”
Compared to the Sure Shot blessing, Double Blessings was obviously better for growth.
An Ling grabbed the fishing rod and confidently started fishing.
As she flicked the hook hard, she was immediately startled.
“Almost forgot I don’t have Sure Shot today!”
The hook came up empty, and she had to cast again.
Fortunately, the experience from yesterday’s Sure Shot blessing helped; fishing supplies wasn’t as difficult as she’d feared.
Her hit rate stayed above 70%.
An Ling fished up a nearby piece of wood from the sea to test the effect.
【Double Blessings Bonus, Wood *2!】With a splash, one piece of wood really did turn into two.
An Ling’s excitement soared instantly.
Soon, the first wooden box of the day appeared in her sight, and she immediately focused all her energy on hooking it.
It wasn’t until the third attempt that the hook finally caught, pulling the wooden box toward her island.
【Double Blessings Bonus Activated, Received: 1 Pack Instant Noodles *2, 1 Meat Floss Bread *2, 200ml Carton Milk *2!】
“What the…?”
An Ling was stunned, suddenly acquiring so much food at once — equal to all her food gathered yesterday.
The problem was, how was she supposed to eat instant noodles without hot water?
That seemed like an issue.
With this haul, An Ling immediately felt invigorated.
Before long, she had collected plenty of supplies, though no more wooden boxes appeared.
Then, just like yesterday, the pendant suddenly emitted light.
【Double Blessings Bonus Triggered *10, Received Special Reward: 1 Random Building Card.】
“Huh?”
An Ling stared at the building card in her hand, bewildered.
This card was different from the silver item card she got yesterday — this one was purple, with the words “Building Card” on the back.
The front bore a strange pattern resembling some kind of filtration device.
At that moment, the glowing ring on her right hand kindly provided a prompt.
【Building Card: Seawater Filtration Device. Used to filter seawater into freshwater; one of the essential survival buildings. Required materials: Wood *20, Gauze *1, Plastic *2, Charcoal *5. Points gained *2.】
An Ling understood now.
This building card was a blueprint.
Once acquired, she would need to build it herself, unlike item cards which granted instant acquisition.
But she didn’t have any gauze or charcoal, so for now, she could only tuck the card away in her pocket.
“Yesterday was a hundred times, this time ten times. Is this some kind of achievement-based reward system?”
Undoubtedly, all these bonuses came from the pendant, though that was just An Ling’s guess.
She’d have to verify it later.
After fishing for about two more hours, An Ling discovered two more wooden boxes but only managed to hook one, since the supplies didn’t always drift directly toward her island.
This time, she acquired Wood *8, Nails *4, Scrap Iron *4.
An Ling’s keen eyes spotted a blind spot: wooden boxes appeared roughly once per hour, but catching them depended entirely on luck since they only appeared within your visual range.
As for the supplies, there were two types of wooden boxes — one containing only building materials, the other only food.
There was no way to tell which was which by appearance alone.
“Grr…”
At that moment, An Ling’s stomach protested after a morning of exertion on an empty stomach.
【Survival Tip: If satiety falls below 40%, no further points will be awarded that day.】
She had planned to hold out until noon before eating, but after seeing the prompt, she decisively opened the milk and a meat floss bread to eat.
“This isn’t even mentioned in the survival manual.”
An Ling wasn’t sure whether the system was considerate or cruel.
It looked like skipping breakfast wouldn’t work anymore.
While eating, she opened the light screen again.
Although she hadn’t obtained gauze or charcoal, surely someone else had, and she could trade.
Charcoal seemed easy to obtain, but it actually required a brazier to produce by burning.
Charcoal made by herself wouldn’t count.
After looking around, An Ling found no gauze in the trade listings.
Posting her own offer took too long, so she went straight to the chat.
Survivor520: “Who has gauze and charcoal? Will trade other supplies!”
After sending the message, she ignored everyone else and continued checking the trade module.
Soon, dozens of survivors started private messaging her.
An Ling smiled.
This meant gauze wasn’t a scarce commodity, so its value wouldn’t exceed food or freshwater.
Right now, hardly anyone had the Seawater Filtration Device building card; otherwise, the value of gauze and charcoal would have skyrocketed.
Survivor10000: “I have one charcoal, want one bottle of water.”
Survivor8792: “Two gauze, want food.”
Survivor250: “Five charcoal, want two empty wooden boxes.”
…
An Ling raised an eyebrow at these messages.
Some requests were absurd, so she just ignored them.
Everyone wanted to be a profiteer; no one wanted to lose out.
“8792 and 250 are worth considering.”
The former at least made a reasonable offer and was open to negotiation.
The latter wanted empty boxes — two wooden boxes meant 8 wood planks and 8 nails.
Trading those for five charcoal was clearly a bad deal; she’d have to bargain.
But these two were among the least unreasonable, since the trade module lacked any standard reference for supply values.
