“Xiaoxi, you and Keke going out for morning exercise together isn’t a big deal. Why do you have to hide even this from me?”
Ye Xinglan’s voice carried a hint of grievance. Aside from Xiaoxi, who pretended not to hear, Xiao Keke looked utterly confused.
“Senior Xinglan, I didn’t go out for morning exercise with Sister, right? Why are you suddenly saying this?”
“Don’t play dumb!” Ye Xinglan pointed at the bottle in Keke’s hand. “Isn’t that vegetable juice your sister gave you? I saw her juicing in the kitchen this morning!”
Keke’s first thought was that Senior Xinglan must have been mistaken. This was a supplement given to her by Eternal Star—there was no way it had anything to do with Sister.
“Aha, Xinglan, you must have seen it wrong,” Xiaoxi forced a smile. “I juiced the vegetable juice myself and drank it while exercising outside this morning.”
“You’d better eat breakfast quickly. The tofu pudding will get cold and won’t taste good…”
But Ye Xinglan wasn’t ready to let it go. She carefully took the bottle from Keke and examined it closely, then chose the most direct approach—she poured out a small capful and tasted it herself.
Three minutes later, after rinsing her mouth in the bathroom, Ye Xinglan swore with absolute certainty.
“Xiaoxi, this is definitely the vegetable juice you juiced this morning. If it’s not, may Eternal Star strike me down with five thunderbolts!”
Her tone was resolute. It could be dismissed as a mere resemblance, but the taste—she would never forget that!
The impression the vegetable juice gave her this morning was far too strong. It was exactly that flavor!
Xiaoxi gasped inwardly. She had only wanted to test the effect by giving Ye Xinglan a sip this morning.
Had she known it would leave such a deep impression, she would never have done it!
“Maybe the bottle Keke’s holding just happens to be vegetable juice too. After all, I found this recipe online. I’m not the only one who knows how to juice.”
“Really? Where did you find such an unusual recipe?”
“Don’t remember. You watch so many videos every day, how can you remember where you saw each one?”
Xiaoxi shrugged nonchalantly, though inside she was in full panic.
Not only was this excuse flimsy, but it could only fool Ye Xinglan at best. Xiao Keke, that stubborn girl, was still here!
Earlier, Xiaoxi had told Keke in the park that the supplement was a Magic Girl Supplement, and that the raw materials were expensive.
If Keke found out that this was actually just freshly juiced vegetable juice—and made from very dubious ingredients—how could Xiaoxi explain it during their next training session?
She suddenly found herself in a dilemma. If she didn’t gloss over it now, her identity as Eternal Star would be exposed.
But if she did gloss over it, it would mean Eternal Star had lied to Keke.
“Senior Xinglan, you’re saying this tastes exactly like Sister’s fresh vegetable juice?”
“Yes. The leftover vegetables are still in the fridge in the kitchen. Who in their right mind would throw onions and coriander into the juicer together?”
It was clear that after Xiaoxi left this morning, Ye Xinglan had gone into the kitchen out of curiosity and examined the ingredients.
“I’m telling you, your sister has been brainwashed by marketing accounts. Who actually believes this stuff is healthy?”
Xiao Keke stubbornly went into the kitchen. Xiaoxi didn’t stop her, and Keke immediately came face to face with the crime scene—the juicer Xiaoxi had used this morning was still unwashed.
How could this be? How did the supplement from Eternal Star turn into Sister’s freshly juiced vegetable juice?
For some reason, Keke suddenly recalled the first training session, when the senior had scolded her with a tone full of elder-like reproach and concern. And Sister had also just started going out for morning exercise lately…
Unlike Ye Xinglan, who hadn’t lived with Xiaoxi since childhood, Keke knew very well that Sister had always been a homebody.
When had she ever had such a healthy habit as morning exercise? Let alone juicing vegetables for health! Sister used to practically drink cola instead of water every day!
“Sister, you really didn’t go to the park this morning?”
Damn. The stubborn girl was definitely suspicious now. No, Xiaoxi had to come up with an excuse that could preserve both identities and fool both of them!
Chewing slowly on the fried egg in her mouth, Xiaoxi’s mind raced for a solution. Her eyes suddenly lit up when she glanced at the bottle of vegetable juice in Keke’s hand.
“That’s right! Looking closely, isn’t that the bottle I used for vegetable juice? These two bottles really are the ones I juiced this morning.”
Xiaoxi’s answer stunned both of them. It was like the culprit blowing their cover and narrating the entire crime scene before the key evidence was even found.
She stroked her chin and suddenly put on a look of sudden realization: “Keke, did you arrange to do morning exercise with someone else? You weren’t the only one, right?”
For now, counterattack was the best move!
“Huh? Sister, how do you know?” Keke’s eyes flickered with panic. Now it was her turn to worry about her Magic Girl identity being exposed. “I arranged to work out with a… senior.”
“Exactly!” Xiaoxi clapped her hands. “It’s like this: I was jogging along the street this morning and accidentally bumped into a girl riding a bike.”
“But neither of us got hurt, so that was that. Now that you mention it, I remember the girl’s basket had two bottles in plastic bags too.”
“I guess after we bumped into each other, we didn’t pay attention and ended up swapping bags by mistake. She was in a hurry—seemed like something urgent—but it’s also my fault for not looking carefully.”
Xiaoxi spoke while secretly watching Keke’s expression.
She hadn’t expected the excuse she lazily made up this morning for being late at the park to actually come in handy now.
This should explain everything, right?
“I remember the girl was pretty, taller than me by a head, with long golden waves. Pretty big chest too.”
Xiaoxi made a big curve in front of her chest with her hand, seizing the opportunity to invent fake information about Eternal Star.
The description was quite different from herself—killing two birds with one stone.
Keke recalled that morning when the senior told her she was late because she accidentally bumped into a passerby on the way… so the person the senior bumped into was Sister?
Which means the person the senior bumped into was coincidentally Sister?
Both happened to have the same plastic bags with two bottles inside, and they accidentally swapped?
Then the senior handed the bottle to Keke?
This was way too coincidental. You tell me, isn’t this just ridiculous?
