At the moment when everyone was gripped by the Nightmare of Rebirth, plunging into the abyss of endless despair, Lin En, the Legendary Mage who had maintained a mountain-like solemnity from beginning to end, finally moved.
He didn’t utter a single word of comfort, nor did he offer any explanation.
Facing the terrifying monster that was crazily regenerating amidst magma and flesh, he responded with the most direct and brutal action.
He slowly raised his hand, once again beginning the sequence that everyone had come to regard as the Fire of Divine Retribution.
“Thermobaric Art, Saturated Strike.”
“Lightning Decomposition!”
“Wind Convergence!”
The terrifying bombardment descended once more.
The freshly grown Flesh Broodmother was instantly blasted apart, flesh flying everywhere.
A thick, purple net of electricity also fell from the sky, like the whip of a god, striking precisely at the newly formed flesh, instantly decomposing it into its most primitive, energy-rich fuel.
Immediately after, invisible wind currents whirled violently, crazily absorbing and compressing the scattered hydrogen and oxygen to their limits.
“Die!”
With this cold and calm declaration, another blue-white Burning World Tornado rose from the ground, enveloping and vaporizing the half-reformed broodmother with absolute power.
The deafening roar and wailing echoed through the valley for the third time, then once again returned to silence.
But this time, no one held any hope anymore.
All the Dark Elves stared numbly at the slowly dissipating flame tornado.
Sure enough, as the scorching white light faded, twisted tentacles once again writhed out from the depths of the magma pit, greedily entangling the underground Hall of Life’s core, beginning a new cycle of rebirth.
After a brief shock, a deeper fear appeared on Elena’s face, her voice trembling with a terrifying realization.
“This is exactly the same as a thousand years ago!”
Her words sent a shiver through everyone.
“It’s just that, back then, what fought against it was the Sacred Relic left by the ancestors—the Isolated Remains. And now…”
Elena swallowed hard, looking at that calm back.
“Now, what stands against it is Lord Lin En—alone!”
Yes, the Flesh Broodmother could endlessly regenerate using the power of the Hall of Life.
It had been able to contend with another divine Sacred Relic, the Isolated Remains, for a thousand years without falling behind.
Lord Lin En’s power was indeed comparable to a god’s, but he was still made of flesh and blood!
A Sacred Relic could be eternal and indestructible, but a Mage’s magic is finite!
Life is finite!
He was caught in a War of Attrition destined for defeat!
They were not just trapped in a vicious cycle—they were imprisoned in an hourglass that was steadily draining, doomed to empty.
This was a conclusion fated for destruction.
Yet, as the executor of all this, Lin En realized it earlier than anyone else.
While maintaining the overwhelming surface cleansing, suppressing each rebirth of the broodmother with absolute power to buy himself precious time to think, his brows were tightly knit, his mind spinning faster than ever.
Conventional magic attacks had become completely ineffective against such a monster.
His thoughts jumped out of the world’s Magic System, analyzing the predicament before him with the mindset of a modern physicist.
The enemy was not the fleshly aggregate visible on the surface, but the root core hidden tens of meters underground, possibly even deeper, fused with the essence of the Hall of Life.
Any surface-level attack was merely pruning the branches, incapable of harming the root.
A method of attack with extreme penetration was required—one that could pierce through thick layers of rock and deliver energy precisely into the earth’s depths, annihilating the core entwined with the Hall of Life.
The penetrative power of conventional magic was limited, drastically weakened by the rock layers, with less than a tenth of its energy remaining.
So, what power could accomplish this?
A memory from his previous life streaked through his mind like a meteor in the dark universe—MOP, the massive bunker-buster!
A weapon of war that relied purely on physical laws, yet could unleash devastating effects!
Lin En’s mind instantly entered a state of high-speed modeling.
To realize the concept of a Magic Bunker-Buster, three core elements were needed:
First, an ultra-high-mass warhead. This wasn’t difficult.
With my Elemental Manipulation ability, I can compress earth or metal elements to ultra-high density, creating a structure as solid as an aerial bomb’s warhead.
Second, immense initial kinetic energy.
The penetrative power of a bunker-buster relies almost entirely on kinetic energy.
To acquire enough force to penetrate dozens of meters of solid rock, the warhead must be dropped from a great height.
According to previous life data, at least twelve thousand meters of altitude is needed to accelerate it with gravity to 1.2 Mach, allowing it to bore through more than sixty meters of concrete.
Third, precise guidance.
It must ensure that this “Spear of Divine Retribution” falling from ten thousand meters strikes accurately at the broodmother’s pit below.
The theoretical blueprint took shape instantly in Lin En’s mind.
It was simple and brutal, yet incomparably effective.
However, a fatal bottleneck followed, threatening to render this seemingly perfect plan a mere fantasy.
Casting distance!
Even though his Spirit Power had been strengthened to an incredible degree by the Crystal Core, it still had its limits.
He couldn’t extend his perception and precise Elemental Manipulation twelve thousand meters into the sky.
That was a height completely out of his reach.
He couldn’t control a high-density warhead weighing dozens of tons at that altitude, much less make fine adjustments to its trajectory to aim at such a tiny target on the ground.
At this thought, for the first time in a long while, Lin En truly felt a sense of difficulty.
His brows furrowed even deeper.
The people around him dared not even breathe.
They watched as Lin En mechanically, effortlessly unleashed those Fire of Divine Retribution-like spells, striking down the reborn broodmother again and again, yet simultaneously sinking into unprecedented contemplation.
His tightly furrowed brows made everyone’s hearts clench.
If even this unfathomable Legendary Mage was troubled, did they really have even a shred of hope left?
Despair, like a viscous swamp, once again engulfed everyone’s hearts.
Lin En’s gaze unconsciously swept over his teammates, taking in the fear and helplessness on their faces.
When his eyes passed over Elaine, whose fingers were clenched tight with tension, a flash of lightning exploded in the darkness of his mind.
He remembered!
That precious tool he’d overlooked for so long!
Elaine had once used a special item—the Soulbinding Resonance Crystal—which could communicate with the Royal Capital thousands of kilometers away, ignoring distance, and Lin En had distinctly sensed that Spirit Power could be transmitted through it.
These crystals came in pairs.
A holder could use their own crystal to clearly send messages or Spirit Power through the other!
The problem of beyond-visual-range control—solved!
He didn’t need to extend his Spirit Power to ten thousand meters high!
He only needed a signal-receiving device!
A device he could precisely control to cast magic over ultra-long distances!
Lin En’s tightly furrowed brows instantly relaxed, a brilliant gleam of intelligence lighting up his eyes.
It was the excitement and confidence of unraveling an age-old problem.
He halted preparations for a new spell, and under the shocked and uncertain gazes of those around him, abruptly turned and walked straight toward the bewildered Elaine.
Under everyone’s puzzled stares, Lin En asked a question with resolute determination, a question that shattered the silence.
“Lord Elaine, I remember—you still have an unused pair of Soulbinding Resonance Crystals, don’t you?”
Elaine was stunned, unable to follow Lin En’s train of thought, but instinctively nodded, taking out two delicately glowing crystals from his Storage Space.
The others were completely at a loss.
In such an earth-shattering, world-ending battle, how could such a small crystal, usually used for communication and positioning, possibly play a decisive role?
But from the burning brilliance in Lin En’s eyes, they clearly saw a new hope—one that could overturn the entire battle.
