“Are you hungry?”
“I’m not eating! I’m going to starve myself to death!”
Su Ling turned his head away. It was so frustrating — he couldn’t move at all, and he couldn’t escape even if he wanted to. He hated this feeling!
Ye Moran fell silent. She tenderly stroked the Little Fellow’s animal ears and then picked him up!
“Wh-what are you doing again? Let me go!”
Su Ling was so startled by her sudden movement that he immediately burst into tears. He thought she was going to do something to him again.
“I’m not doing anything,” she said.
“I’m just putting some clothes on you and taking you for a walk!”
“No, I don’t want to go out! I don’t want to go out! Let me go!”
Upon hearing that they were going outside, Su Ling resisted instantly. He didn’t want to go out. ‘What if someone discovers my animal ears and tail?’ he thought.
‘I don’t want to…’
“Be good. The weather is nice today, and the scenery here is beautiful. I’ll take you around; maybe your mood will improve a bit.”
“I’m begging you, don’t make me go out. Don’t go out.”
“Uwahhh… can’t you just listen to me one time?”
“Why is it always like this? I’m not your toy, and I’m not your pet! Uwahhh!”
Su Ling cried harder and harder. Everything he had experienced during this time flashed through his mind. He didn’t want to be in confinement, he didn’t want to be controlled, and he certainly didn’t want to be forced to do this or that!
He only wanted to do what he liked!
“You really don’t want to go out?”
Ye Moran frowned. In the past, when the Little Fellow felt down, he loved going out to play. His mood would always improve significantly after a trip.
‘Why is it like this this time?’
She had no choice but to lay the Little Fellow back on the bed and tenderly stroke the top of his head.
“Fine. If you don’t want to go out, we won’t. I won’t force you this time.”
Su Ling looked at her with tearful eyes, his body trembling with sobs. His expression was the picture of grievance!
“There, there. Don’t be like that. Come here, let me hold you.”
Ye Moran leaned down and gently hugged the Little Fellow.
Feeling her body temperature pressed tightly against his own, Su Ling’s fearful heart somehow found a moment of peace!
This hug was very gentle — so gentle that he felt a bit dazed.
‘I know this way of thinking is wrong, but…’
He closed his eyes, no longer wanting to do anything. He just wanted to sleep peacefully. Once he woke up, he would forget everything!
Ye Moran didn’t know what the Little Fellow was thinking. She held him for a while longer, and after confirming he had fallen back asleep, she let go and went back to her work.
***
Su Ling was woken up by hunger. He hadn’t eaten for one day, and he had only had one meal the day before. His body felt miserably hungry.
He struggled to crawl out of bed. Although it was difficult, he eventually succeeded. The pain in his body wasn’t as intense as before.
‘It seems my recovery speed is better than before. Is it just my imagination?’
He could vaguely smell a fragrance, but he couldn’t move right now. Sitting up was his limit.
‘That woman seems to be gone. Did she go somewhere?’
For some reason, he felt a little tug of sadness in his heart.
Creak!
The door was pushed open, and Ye Moran walked in carrying a tray of food.
Su Ling bit his lip and lowered his head, pretending not to see her.
Ye Moran set the food down and picked up a small table she had prepared, placing it in front of Su Ling.
Su Ling kept his head down.
Ye Moran placed the food on the small table. “Why are you so unwilling to look at me?”
“I… I’m not…”
“Then why do you keep your head down?”
Su Ling slowly raised his head. His gentle eyes were already brimming with tears.
“Wh… where did you go?”
“Be good, don’t cry. You won’t look pretty if you cry.”
“I went to cook for you. The staff have all left for the day, so I had to use their kitchen myself to make you a meal.”
“Eat up. You need nutrients to recover quickly.”
“So what if I recover? I’ll just be… by you anyway…”
Su Ling pouted, but he still opened his mouth.
Ye Moran cooperated, picking up some food and bringing it to his lips.
After Su Ling finished eating, his eyes remained fixed on her.
Ye Moran sat by the bed handling her work. Noticing the Little Fellow was staring at her, she reached out and stroked his head. When she touched his animal ears, the two nearly fully grown ears twitched slightly.
“Ugh…”
“Don’t touch there…”
Su Ling turned his head away, his face blushing.
“Alright, I won’t. Go to sleep early. I still have some work to finish.”
“No… I can’t sleep. You…”
“What is it?”
Su Ling turned away and spoke in a voice that was almost a whisper.
“Can you hold me?”
“Huh? What did you say?”
“I… I didn’t… say anything…”
Su Ling’s heart raced with panic, but it was quickly replaced by a sense of grievance. His eyes reddened, and a single tear escaped.
Then, the tears became unstoppable. Su Ling turned his back to her and began to cry silently.
‘Why is he crying again?’
Ye Moran looked at the Little Fellow’s shaking shoulders and frowned in confusion.
‘Did I say something wrong?’
She couldn’t figure it out, but she didn’t need to think too much. Since the Little Fellow was crying, she would just comfort him!
As for work, it obviously wasn’t as important as the Little Fellow!
Su Ling wiped his tears helplessly with his small hands, feeling more and more aggrieved the more he thought about it. It wasn’t like he wanted to run away on purpose — it was her fault for doing those things to him!
He was afraid of pain — he had always been afraid of pain. It wasn’t like she didn’t know that, yet she made it so painful every time. He hated her!
“Are you cursing me in your head?”
Ye Moran slowly leaned in, resting her chin on the Little Fellow’s head as she asked with a smile.
“Go… go away!”
Su Ling pouted and pushed her head away. His small eyes looked at her with a mix of grievance and a hint of ferocity!
“Did I make you angry again?”
“Be good. Don’t get worked up; it’s bad for your health.”
“Stay away from me! I don’t want you to care about me! You don’t care about me anyway!”
“I don’t care about you?”
“How did you come up with such an idea?”
Ye Moran was amused by the Little Fellow’s nonsensical logic. How could she not care about him? If she didn’t care, would she have put him in confinement? Would she constantly sleep with him?
Would she cook for him and comfort him?
“You just don’t care! You only think of me as a toy, as a pet!”
“You’re always so mean to me. I’ve begged you to be gentler, even if it’s just a little bit, but you never are. You just don’t care!”
Su Ling angrily spat out everything he could think of. Although he felt there was more to say, he couldn’t remember the rest.
He suddenly hated his own brain for being so stupid. Whenever someone bullied him, he would forget about it after a nap.
Even though he was clearly furious at the time, he would forget the details after a while, only remembering the fact that he had been angry.
“Then… how about I am gentler next time?” Ye Moran said uncertainly.
“You’re lying! You won’t be gentle! You’re a pervert!”
“Heh, you’re right. I am a pervert — a pervert who is only perverted for you!”
