One portion of beef, after being scanned by the light curtain ring, had a standard weight of 3kg, which was 6 pounds.
An Ling traded only one portion of beef for several seasonings and staple foods.
**[Rice: 15kg * 1, Garlic * 20, Salt * 5, Soy Sauce * 1, Scallions * 5, Cooking Oil: 5L * 1, Ginger * 3]**
With these seasonings, she could finally cook a proper meal.
The only pity was that she only had one stove, meaning she could not cook the rice and the dishes at the same time. However, she was confident that her living conditions would improve in the future.
An Ling began to get busy. During the process, she did not forget to turn on the shower pod to heat the fresh water inside.
She planned to take a nice bath after dinner.
She had not bathed since returning from the survival island. Although it had only been two days, it was so hot during the day that she sweated a lot. This made her body feel very uncomfortable, and her Cleanliness Level was dropping rapidly.
1 hour later, a delicious dinner was ready: potato brisket, pan-fried cod, stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots, and sea eagle soup, accompanied by a bowl of steaming white rice.
Of course, canned fruit and soda were also essential.
With three dishes, one soup, fruit, and a drink, the table was packed with food. An Ling sat in her chair and began to enjoy her meal. This was the most sumptuous dinner she had ever eaten.
Fortunately, she had become independent at a young age and had mastered life skills like cooking and laundry early on; otherwise, not knowing how to cook would have been a real problem.
“Is this what happiness feels like? I finally don’t have to eat instant food,” An Ling said. She finished two whole bowls of rice before patting her bulging belly and leaning back in her chair to rest with a satisfied expression.
“Ugh, I’m so full!”
While resting, she idly browsed the survivors’ chat.
It had to be said that the scanning function on the light curtain ring greatly satisfied the vanity of many survivors.
An Ling tried scanning her remaining food: **[Steaming Potato Stewed Brisket]**.
Information immediately appeared in the dialogue box. With just a click, it could be sent for other survivors to see, complete with an attached picture.
However, An Ling had no intention of showing off to these survivors. Her only purpose for monitoring the chat module was to see if she was falling behind anyone else’s development.
As it stood, not only had she not fallen behind, but she was also ahead of almost all the other survivors.
Seeing this result, An Ling felt relieved. ‘At least I’m not the worst one.’
After digesting her meal for a bit, she planned to go to the shower pod outside to bathe, which would end her schedule for the day.
The sea breeze outside the wooden cabin was a bit cold. It was not suitable to wash her hair at night; her waist-length white hair would not dry anytime soon.
‘As expected, it’s such a hassle for women to even wash their hair.’
She turned on the indoor lights and set the mode to opaque. She did not have the habit of showering while looking at the sea; it provided no sense of security at all. Besides, what was there to see in the middle of the night?
While the bathtub was filling with water, she also washed up on the side.
Her clothes slowly slid down her smooth skin to her feet. Her fair, straight, manga-proportioned legs slowly stepped into the bathtub. The water temperature was just right.
An Ling slowly sat down and then reclined halfway into the tub.
Steam rose upward, and the small shower pod was soon filled with mist. The four glass walls began to fog up. She scooped up the hot water and poured it over her skin, droplets sliding down her smooth, jade-like shoulders…
An Ling lay quietly in the bathtub and closed her eyes. It felt as if only at this moment did time truly belong to her.
After her bath, she washed the clothes she had been wearing, including her shoes and socks.
Among the rewarded clothes was a set that ridiculously included shoes, but they were the kind of shoes she used to hate the most: kidney-shaped shoes.
Of course, the three sets were all different. Two of them came with very formal black leather shoes.
After finishing all this, An Ling picked up the three sets of clothes to take a look, intending to choose one to wear. They were just too “cool.” There would be no problem during the day, but she might feel a bit cold at night.
The first set: a white shirt, a blue and white checkered pleated skirt, mid-calf white socks, and those kidney-shaped shoes.
The second set: entirely khaki with some dark brown stripes, and a pair of… white silk stockings?
The third set was even more ridiculous: a black ensemble, but it included a small jacket. This set should be the warmest, but it came with black silk stockings…
Black or white, everyone had their own preference. An Ling liked the black ones a bit more, but she didn’t know about others.
Although her heart skipped a beat looking at them, having the mindset of a man made wearing these things feel somewhat shameful. Even though she was, in fact, a girl now.
Therefore, An Ling chose the first set without hesitation, as it felt the most normal to her. Naturally, she changed all her undergarments as well.
“Hey, these actually feel pretty comfortable.” She didn’t expect these shoes, which seemed hideous to men, to be quite comfortable. Instantly, the shoes looked much more pleasing to her eyes.
The skirt was too short, only reaching her knees, which made her very uncomfortable. As she left the shower pod, she felt the sea breeze blowing directly under her skirt, making her feel very insecure.
Although it looked like a pleated skirt on the outside, it actually had divided legs inside, just like pants, serving the function of safety shorts.
Even so, it was still a skirt. For An Ling, who was wearing a skirt for the first time, it was deathly embarrassing.
Hurrying back to the wooden cabin, she prepared to go to sleep. It was already late. There was still a lot of cowhide left from making the recurve bow, so she simply used it to cover the bed. This added another layer of comfort to the simple wooden bed.
Lying on the bed, An Ling checked her points. She currently had 74. There were only four days left before she had to enter the survival island. If her Prayer did not grant her Great Luck over the next two days, she would not be able to explore any more resource islands.
Unless this simple wooden boat could undergo another round of upgrades during this time.
She had to find a way to absorb these resources and then convert them into helpful tools or equipment. After all, the first survival island was known as a “novice island” and it was already that treacherous. An Ling dared not imagine how difficult the subsequent survival islands would be.
One wouldn’t encounter a helper every time. If she ran into some villainous survivors, that would be a major problem.
An Ling’s thoughts began to drift, and her eyelids grew heavy. Eventually, she slowly drifted into a dreamland.
In the silent night, the cold sea breeze continued to blow across the surface of the ocean.
