After finishing, Batke let out a sigh of relief and turned away calmly.
“Check again. There might still be more.”
With that, he set off once more to inspect every nook and cranny.
Gnasa stood there, mouth agape, so shocked his brain stopped working.
Damn, you thick-browed, honest-looking old man, was that really something a Golden Dragon should say?
He grumbled in his heart for a while, but in the end, his attention landed on the Demon’s mention of a treasure.
“Who knows if he was telling the truth… Hmm…”
He pondered for a while, then trotted over to Batke, who was still inspecting the surroundings.
“Uncle, let’s talk business.”
“You want my help to retrieve the Demon Treasure, right?”
“Hehe, you know me well. How about a thirty-seventy split? I take seven, you take three?”
Batke shot him a look and walked away in silence. Gnasa had expected this and didn’t get angry, just followed him again.
“Alright, alright, I’m not joking anymore. Fifty-fifty, okay? This information—I did get it out of him, you know. You can’t hog the bigger share.”
Gnasa babbled on, unwilling to give up, trying to persuade Batke to help him get the treasure, but Batke waved him off in refusal.
“I have no interest in a Demon’s treasure. If you want it, go get it yourself.”
“Oh-ho, you said it! Don’t you dare try to take it from me!”
Gnasa had planned to go alone anyway, but he was worried Batke would grab everything first if they didn’t talk it out.
Now that Batke said he wasn’t interested, Gnasa was truly at ease.
After a thorough inspection, Batke was finally certain the Demon had been completely destroyed and relaxed.
“I’ve stayed here long enough. I’ll head back.”
He called out to them, then looked at Carlu, who seemed a bit reluctant to see him go.
“Next time I come, I’ll take you to see your mother.”
“Oh…”
After his goodbyes, he left without hesitation.
The place fell silent for a moment before Gnasa’s delighted voice rang out.
“Treasure hunt! Who wants in?”
Aishi shot him a speechless glance and walked toward her room.
Gnasa, still wearing an excited expression, turned to Carlu.
But with her father just gone, she wasn’t in the mood.
Gnasa was helpless, his face falling.
“Fine, Master~” He turned and tried to act spoiled with Geli, but was rejected again.
“What treasure could a Demon like that have anyway? Go play by yourself. My time is precious—why should I waste it?”
“……”
No one was interested, and Gnasa’s enthusiasm instantly deflated.
“Sigh… Busy, everyone’s busy…”
Dejected, he headed to the teleportation array, wanting to stroll through the vegetable garden to clear his mind.
“If it doesn’t work out, I’ll just have them look for it. But the Demon Domain is thousands of miles away, how… Demon?”
Suddenly thinking of something, his dragon head snapped up.
“That’s right! Since it’s Demon Treasure, why not just summon a few low-ranked Demons to fetch it for me? Uh… This time, there shouldn’t be a high-ranked Demon hijacking the passage, right?”
That Shadow Demon earlier had been a fluke—the odds of that happening again were low.
Just to be safe, Gnasa called Geli over again and had her set up some Enchantment Barriers nearby.
To ensure nothing went wrong, Gnasa drew a new summoning formation.
But the original Summoning Paper had been lost, so he had to write a new one.
Once everything was ready, Gnasa swallowed nervously and activated the summoning formation.
Buzz——
He half-expected another accident, but this time—
There really wasn’t any trouble; a low-ranked Demon was summoned without a hitch.
It was entirely blood-red, no bigger than a basketball, a classic-looking little Demon with a sharp mouth, fangs, wings, tail, and a steel trident in hand.
“Who dares to insult—”
Before it could finish, Gnasa smacked it aside and pulled out the Dragon Emperor Pearl.
“Don’t say a word. Into my Dragon Emperor Pearl, we’ll talk there.”
“Waahhh!”
With a wail, the Demon was sucked straight into the Dragon Emperor Pearl.
Seeing that this worked, Gnasa grinned wickedly and activated the formation again.
A flash of light, and another angry Demon appeared.
This time, before it could say anything, Gnasa simply absorbed it into the Dragon Emperor Pearl.
“Get in there!”
And so it went, again and again…
“Get in there!”
“You get in, too!” “All of you, get in!”
Beep——
He didn’t know how many low-ranked Demons he’d caught, but it seemed enough.
So, Gnasa released them all at once.
Immediately, a mass of low-ranked Demons crowded inside the Enchantment Barrier, all shapes and sizes.
They clamored and fussed, leaving Gnasa helpless and with a splitting headache.
“Quiet!”
With a loud shout, he caught their attention.
“Ahem, listen up, I—”
“You’re the one who wrote that Summoning Paper and insulted me! I curse you to bite a stone every time you eat!”
“That pearl you sucked us into has a slave function! You’d better let us go, or I’ll ***”
A barrage of curses…
Clearly, Gnasa wasn’t intimidating to them; this crowd of low-ranked Demons felt safe in numbers and had no fear of him.
Gnasa’s face grew stormier, but he kept silent.
Finally…
“Shut the hell up! Anyone who keeps running their mouth, I’ll rip out their tendons, peel off their skin, and hang them from a tree to bleed dry!”
Gnasa’s outburst unleashed enough Dragon Might to silence the lot of them instantly.
Seeing them quiet down, his anger gradually faded.
“See, that’s all you had to do. Why force me to get angry? Ahem, here’s the deal—help me find the treasure at these coordinates, and I’ll give you your freedom.”
Gnasa tossed out a Map, already marked with the treasure sites.
Most were in the old Demon Domain, with a few scattered worldwide.
The Demons crowded around to look at the Map, then glanced up at Gnasa.
They all sneered in disdain.
“What can you do if we don’t go, little mongrel dragon? There’s so many of us Demons here—why would we fear you?”
The first to speak was the red Demon, the first one summoned, who sneered arrogantly.
And then, he collapsed, convulsing on the ground, while Gnasa, holding the Dragon Emperor Pearl, sneered right back:
“What can I do to you? Little mongrel Demon?”
Now that they were Slaves, their lives were in Gnasa’s hands—he could snuff them out in an instant. After some torment, the red Demon finally yielded.
“I—I—I was wrong! I’ll go look right now!”
Gnasa finally stopped and pointed at the door.
“The door’s over there. Now, all of you, get the hell out!”
“Yes!”
With a bang, the door flew open, and the Demons swarmed out in a panic.
Gnasa followed slowly, watching the dense mass of Demons take to the sky in all directions, and shrugged helplessly.
“Doesn’t matter—they were freebies anyway. Even if they all die, I won’t feel a thing. Sending them to hunt for treasure is just perfect.”
