The stage play started quickly, and the theater lights dimmed, leaving only the stage brightly lit. The actors appeared, and the performance began.
But among the three of them, only Xiao Keke was watching attentively. After all, she was a fan of the Eternal Star, so she was fully focused.
Xiaoxi also wanted to watch seriously, but seeing the actors dressed up as her… how should she put it? She felt a bit embarrassed and awkward.
Ye Xinglan had watched seriously for a while, but the more she watched, the angrier she got.
“Blood Moon Witch, you won’t escape today! All evil will be brought to justice!” The actor playing the Eternal Star struck a battle pose, facing the Blood Moon Witch on stage.
“Damn it, do you think you can beat me just like that…”
Ye Xinglan rolled her eyes dramatically, clearly annoyed, and turned sideways to rest her head on Xiaoxi’s shoulder.
Annoyed!
What nonsense! When had the Blood Moon Witch ever been suppressed by the Eternal Star? In terms of sheer strength, she was stronger!
Ye Xinglan wasn’t arrogant. During the Great Chaos Era, when she fought the Eternal Star, she usually had the upper hand. In a pure battle of power, hardly anyone could defeat her.
The Blood Moon Witch was even capable of holding her own against two opponents at once— two of the strongest from the Magical Girl Team at the time, the Eternal Star and the Dragon Princess, both famous for their strength.
But to meet the audience’s expectations, the Blood Moon Witch on stage could only end up getting beaten by the Eternal Star.
Ye Xinglan could only sigh and think… Dramatization is not fabrication; adaptation is not distortion, okay!
Losing interest, Ye Xinglan found something else to do. Bored, she grabbed Xiaoxi’s hand and poked at the bracelet on her wrist.
Xiaoxi stiffened, but with Xiao Keke there and having to maintain the pretense of a couple with Ye Xinglan in public, she didn’t say much.
But… maybe it was Xiaoxi’s imagination, but ever since the incident with Miss Su Ying, she felt Ye Xinglan and her behavior growing increasingly intimate.
If Xiaoxi weren’t painfully aware she didn’t deserve the little rich lady, she might have started wondering if their relationship was turning into something beyond friendship.
At this moment, Ye Xinglan had found a new amusement — she pulled out an eyebrow pencil from her bag and, leaning against Xiaoxi, began drawing on her bracelet.
Before long, Xiaoxi, unable to endure the little rich lady’s affectionate antics, withdrew her hand and found an excuse.
“Xinglan, it looks like the play is reaching its climax. Don’t you want to watch?”
Glancing at the unfinished chibi cat drawn on her bracelet, Ye Xinglan sneered and turned her attention back to the stage.
By now, the Eternal Star and Blood Moon Witch were locked in battle on stage.
The Eternal Star, suspended by wires, performed an aerial dash and knocked down the Blood Moon Witch… who then showed a terrified expression, screamed, and fled.
The audience didn’t immediately react, thinking it was part of the plot. Ye Xinglan nearly passed out from frustration and pinched the area between her nose and upper lip.
When had the Blood Moon Witch ever run away in fear of the Eternal Star? This was a severe case of out-of-character!
As the “Blood Moon Witch” screamed and ran offstage, the audience still didn’t realize anything was wrong, assuming it was all part of the performance.
But this part of the show was rather unusual—the Blood Moon Witch not only fled but also broke the fourth wall by running into the audience?
“Everyone, run! Monster! There’s a monster!”
The actor’s warning failed to catch most people’s attention. Many still thought it was part of the stage design, sitting dumbfounded in their seats.
The three in the VIP Section all sensed something was wrong. Xiaoxi noticed a wisp of black smoke twisting in a corner of the stage… it really was a monster!
Only when a stiff-limbed puppet figure, wrapped in black smoke, emerged from behind the stage scenery did the audience finally realize the danger.
Screams, cries, and pushing erupted simultaneously, and the orderly theater turned into chaos.
“Let’s go, it’s still possible to leave the theater… that monster looks terrifying.”
Ye Xinglan, initially calm, beckoned the other two to leave but soon realized her reaction was too casual. She quickly added the second half of her sentence with a frightened expression.
She had no qualms about running away, but the other two were different. As they left the VIP Section with Ye Xinglan, their eyes remained fixed tightly on the stage.
Xiaoxi sneaked a glance at Xiao Keke, who was biting her lip, immediately guessing what her sister was planning.
“Let’s go, get outside first and then talk!”
Xiaoxi grabbed their hands and started running. The puppet monster on stage moved slowly and hadn’t hurt anyone yet.
Xiaoxi planned to get the two out first, then come back and transform to deal with the monster.
The VIP Section was closer to the exit than the regular seats, so Xiaoxi was sure she could make it in time.
She didn’t want her sister to face the monster; monsters born in crowded places usually had strong powers.
Just as the three were about to dash out, Xiao Keke suddenly yanked her hand free, threw out a line, “I think I forgot something,” and dashed back inside.
Xiao Keke had clearly seized the opportunity. Her figure was instantly swallowed by the fleeing crowd, and Xiaoxi was furious enough to want to transform into the Eternal Star and punch that monster into dust herself.
That brat, so eager to be the hero!
“Phew… Xinglan, let’s get out first. Keke’s always been clever. She’ll be fine.”
At this point, going back after Xiao Keke was unrealistic. Xiaoxi decided to get Ye Xinglan out first, then come back to help.
At least Xiao Keke, as a D-rank Magical Girl, could protect herself, but Ye Xinglan, an ordinary human, would be helpless against the monster.
……
What Xiaoxi didn’t expect was that when Magical Girl Sirius returned, Xiaohongmao had already defeated the puppet monster on stage.
Now, she was busy rescuing the actor playing the Eternal Star. Since the staff controlling the wires had fled in fear, the actor was still hanging on the stage and couldn’t get down.
“Go, run towards the emergency exit!”
Though the monster was dealt with, Xiaohongmao felt unreal looking at the scattered puppet fragments on stage.
The monster was simply too weak—barely reaching D-rank strength, no stronger than the slime monster they had handled earlier. She could have easily handled it alone.
“Xiaohongmao! Are you okay!”
The familiar voice startled Xiaohongmao. Sirius was here too?
