The Vichy royal family might not be controlled by any “True Ancestor,” and if one were to ask why, the Third Princess standing before her was the best answer.
“What does Sylvie like?” “What does Sylvie dislike?” “What were you just discussing?” “How to make her fall in love with you?”…
This kind of cliché scene always appears in old comics: the protagonist, unsure of how to pursue the person they like, anxiously seeks out the target’s close friend or confidant for advice…
Unfortunately, Su Yao’s knowledge of Sylvie was limited to just one thing—she wasn’t very good at drinking ‘baijiu.’
Those “collaboration matters” just discussed were definitely not something she could tell this princess.
As for “how to make her fall in love with you,” the only advice she could offer, having experienced love once across two worlds, was “through shared hardship.”
The tea gathering didn’t last long. After a brief introduction, the princess, full of girlish enthusiasm, asked nothing but questions related to Sylvie the entire time.
Su Yao didn’t notice anything unusual about her.
After the unexpected little interruption, by the time she left the inn, dusk was nearly upon her.
The cobblestone street was bathed in the setting sun’s glow, like draped in a thin veil of crimson gold, and the figures huddled in the alleys had noticeably thinned out.
The number of beggars in this city had decreased. Considering the ever-growing number of new adventurers entering the dungeon, it was easy to guess where they had gone.
Although she was only developing the dungeon, more people were living better lives or escaping poverty thanks to it.
Thinking of this, the blonde little girl felt a certain satisfaction in helping others, and her footsteps grew noticeably lighter.
She arrived at the Adventurers’ Guild.
The familiar wooden sign, the familiar sword-and-axe emblem, and, of course, the familiar deadfish-eyed receptionist.
The only difference was that it was much quieter than usual. Normally, this time would be filled with groups of adventurers sitting together, drinking and chatting.
The adventure requests on the blackboard were far more numerous than before, and the rewards had also increased.
This was one of the effects brought about by the dungeon.
Whether it was good or bad was hard to say, but now adventurers earned significantly more money than before—even without going into the dungeon.
She also noticed a notice posted in the lower right corner of the blackboard listing monster materials the guild was buying.
Minotaur’s Battleaxe: 50 silver coins each.
Broodmother Spider Venom: 40 silver coins per vial.
Mist Venom Scorpion Tail: 20 silver coins each.
Vampire Bat Wings: 50 copper coins per pair.
These were some of the more common monster materials found in her dungeon; she instantly spotted them on the list.
There were also entries for Killer Hummingbird Nest, Wild Ror Pork, and Wind Demon Wolf Pelt…
These monster materials were priced higher since most adventurers no longer wanted to venture into dungeons populated solely by monsters.
Still, Su Yao was considering the feasibility of setting spawn points for these monsters in her own dungeon; she didn’t mind making it more popular.
After wandering around the Adventurers’ Guild for a bit, Su Yao found the receptionist at the front desk.
Her deadfish eyes were still brimming with murderous intent today.
“Here to post a request?”
“No, I’m looking for someone.”
Young and fairly attractive, it was a pity her eyes and personality were so off-putting.
“Who are you looking for?”
“The Guild President.”
…
Fortunately, this president was a workaholic who practically lived in the guild office.
To stand out among a group of burly men and become president, one must be an even stronger and tougher muscleman.
Su Yao thought so at first, but when she reached the third floor and saw the meek scholar who opened the door for her, she glanced doubtfully at the plaque bearing his name.
Perhaps because of her distinctive attire and appearance, she was invited inside. The president didn’t seem as difficult to get along with as Miss Celia had described.
However, there was hardly any place to sit.
Besides a desk and a chair, the rest of the room was almost completely filled with books and parchment scrolls.
It would be rude to touch his belongings without permission, so Su Yao reluctantly found a small empty spot in front of the president’s desk.
“Monster Ecology,” “Dungeon Environment Overview,” “Dungeon Mechanisms and Traps Compendium”……
These oddly titled books lay within easy reach on the desk. It looked like he’d been researching dungeons recently.
“Is there something I can help you with?”
“This is the situation: I’d like to ask your permission to establish a branch of the Adventurers’ Guild in a certain place.”
The Moravia Adventurers’ Guild was the most powerful guild in this territory. Surrounding towns and cities had to apply here first before establishing their own adventurers’ guilds.
Of course, small places with few people were never approved, as there weren’t enough requests or adventurers, making such guilds unprofitable.
“Please leave. I have no interest in this matter.”
What was this guy saying? No interest? If he was just brushing her off, he should at least have a better excuse.
Putting the complaint aside, if he didn’t approve it, Su Yao would be in a real bind. That wouldn’t do.
“Here’s the thing—I have acquired a piece of land and plan to build a small town there. Although construction hasn’t started yet, one day it will become a population center not inferior to Moravia. I need to set up an Adventurers’ Guild there, so please approve it!”
“Please leave. Besides the fact that I would never approve a guild on an empty plot of land, I have no interest in what you’re talking about.”
Does this man only do things he’s interested in? No wonder he became guild president.
She had thought today would go unusually smoothly, but she hadn’t expected to hit a wall here.
What is he interested in? Money? No… his clothes were quite plain, and besides books and magical scrolls, there was nothing else in this room.
Wait, books?
Su Yao suddenly seemed to understand what he cared about.
“What if I told you I plan to establish a branch of the Adventurers’ Guild near a dungeon in the Northern Forest?”
“Please leave. Wait! What did you say?”
……
“Mr. Hualifu, who is that girl named Su Yao?”
“I’m very sorry, Princess, I don’t know.”
In Princess’s Room, she summoned an information broker to inquire about the girl she had met today.
She didn’t like that blonde little girl. No particular reason—it was just unbearable to see her chatting so happily with Sylvie.
Fortunately, the girl didn’t know much about Sylvie. Otherwise, it wouldn’t just be a matter of “dislike.”
“Our ‘Great Demon’ actually has news he doesn’t know? That’s hard to believe.”
“To be honest, Princess, my master is also very interested in that lady. You should understand what I mean.”
“Oh?”
The one who could control both the “Great Demon” and the “True Ancestor” was probably none other than the Legendary One.
What a pity. She had wanted her love to remain free of complications.
Fine. Next time they meet, she would make her move too…
