This 6-square-meter private bathroom, equipped with a toilet and a sink, did not feel too crowded even with two people inside.
Su Zhihan stood with her hands leaning against the sink. She wore a clean white hoodie paired with a navy blue sailor-style shawl, slim light blue jeans, and simple white sneakers. Her long, slender legs were perfectly accentuated, and her overall outfit was simple and refreshing, carrying a hint of a schoolgirl aesthetic.
Her long, slightly wavy, and silky hair was tied into twin tails—a rare sight for her—which swayed slightly with her movements. She blinked her large eyes, their reddened rims and the tear mole at the corner of her eye making her look the part of a pitiable, delicate beauty.
Ye Zhou scratched his head, a faint, awkward smile tugging at his lips.
“Um, are you… alright?”
Su Zhihan reached out and carelessly wiped away a stray tear that had escaped her eye.
It was as if the moment she heard the word dessert, the series of unpleasant events from the rehearsal had been completely wiped from her memory.
“That… Where is that? Student Ye, you wouldn’t lie to me, would you?”
‘Aha… She’s actually calling me a liar in this situation. Not bad, Su Zhihan.’
Ye Zhou gave a shallow smile and revealed the four mousse cups he had been hiding behind his back.
“Ta-da! According to the clerk, these are Kenji Sakura White Peach Mousse Cups. They’re a new item just released in their store! The taste is excellent. I guarantee you’ll be satisfied!”
“Wow! It really is a type of mousse cup I haven’t tried before.”
Su Zhihan’s eyes lit up quietly. She pointed at herself. “But there are four of them. Are they really all for me? How much did it cost? I’ll transfer the money to you on Green Bubble.”
“I already said it’s my treat. Why are you trying to give me money?”
Ye Zhou intentionally put on a stern face. “If you keep this up, I’m going to get angry.”
Su Zhihan crossed her hands and then released them, nodding hesitantly. “Then… okay. It’s your treat this time, and I’ll treat you next time.”
But just as she reached out to take them, Ye Zhou pulled back.
She tilted her head in confusion.
Ye Zhou couldn’t help but press a hand to his forehead.
“Hey, you aren’t actually planning to open these and eat them in a bathroom, are you? That would be too weird. It was ridiculous enough for me to bring food in here in the first place. If you’re going to eat, you should find a comfortable spot outside, right?”
Su Zhihan clapped her hands together, realization dawning on her. “That’s true!”
Ye Zhou figured that since he was already inside, he should get Su Zhihan out of the bathroom as quickly as possible. He wanted to avoid her changing her mind and saying something like, ‘Actually, I think it would be better if we stayed in the bathroom until noon and then went out for lunch together!’
Ye Zhou used his free hand to turn the doorknob, only to find that it was firmly stuck. It wouldn’t budge at all.
He was bewildered. ‘Not again… am I that unlucky that the lock broke the moment I came in? Does that mean we’re trapped in the bathroom?’
At that moment, Su Zhihan pulled a key from her pocket. She blinked her large eyes, looking adorable and innocent.
“It’s locked with a key. You have to use the key to open it.”
Ye Zhou slapped his forehead, lamenting inwardly — he was hopelessly stupid!
“Where did you get a key for this bathroom? Why don’t I have one?”
“Oh, I don’t know why you don’t have one. The Vice President gave this to me.”
“Wow, she’s really playing favorites, isn’t she? I’m so disappointed.”
Ye Zhou reached out to take the key to open the door, but Su Zhihan took a step back. Her large eyes couldn’t hide a hint of playfulness.
“Student Ye, the rule is one hand for the dessert, and one hand for the key.”
“Student Zhihan, you’re being naughty. You’re actually teaming up with the Vice President to bully me.”
“I was never well-behaved to begin with!”
Seeing that Su Zhihan was still in the mood for mischief, the worry in Ye Zhou’s heart eased.
He subconsciously let out a chuckle, took the key, and handed over the desserts at the same time. He turned around to unlock the door, but the inserted key wouldn’t move an inch.
He frowned, pulled the key out, and reinserted it. He tried several times, but he still couldn’t open it.
He was certain now. Thanks to his bad luck, the lock was broken. Moreover, this door was the sturdiest kind, featuring a metal frame and solid wood composite panels. It would be nearly impossible to break it down with brute force alone.
Thus, Ye Zhou quickly took out his phone and found Lin Shulan on Green Bubble, as she was the person closest to him.
[Ye Zhou: Senior Lin, are you there? No time to explain the details, but Su Zhihan and I are trapped in the bathroom and can’t get out.]
[I tried the key Su Zhihan brought several times, but it won’t open. The lock is most likely broken.]
[Please help me contact a locksmith to open the door. I don’t remember his phone number. Thank you!]
As expected, Lin Shulan was still nearby and hadn’t gone far. She replied quickly.
[Lin Shulan: Are you sure?]
[Ye Zhou: Absolutely certain!]
[Lin Shulan: Fine. You and Su Zhihan don’t panic. I’ll contact the locksmith immediately. He should be there in a few minutes at the earliest.]
[Ye Zhou: Okay, I know what to do. Thanks again, Senior Lin!]
[Lin Shulan: You’re welcome. Even if we didn’t know each other, any passerby would be happy to help.]
Ye Zhou let out a long sigh of relief. He tucked his phone away discreetly, his gaze shifting toward Su Zhihan behind him.
He saw Su Zhihan cradling the four Kenji Sakura White Peach Mousse Cups in her arms, staring at them without blinking, as if she might devour them in the next second.
She was incredibly focused.
It was obvious she hadn’t realized the problem they were currently facing.
He didn’t know if she suffered from claustrophobia.
After all, even if she had been in the bathroom by herself for a long time earlier, that was under the assumption that the door could be opened. Being unable to open the door was a completely different matter.
Even Ye Zhou, who didn’t have claustrophobia, felt a brief moment of shortness of breath.
Therefore, Ye Zhou didn’t intend to tell Su Zhihan about the situation.
The locksmith would be arriving soon anyway.
As the saying goes — ‘Don’t project your own anxiety onto others.’
Seeing that Ye Zhou hadn’t opened the lock for a long time, Su Zhihan noticed something was wrong, even though her mind was clouded by the desserts. She tilted her head and asked:
“Did I bring the wrong key?”
“Haha, of course not…”
Ye Zhou laughed naturally as he stepped onto the toilet. He pushed open the small ventilation window at the very top, which had been tightly shut.
Fortunately, this wasn’t a difficult task for someone who was 1.8 meters tall.
The moment the ventilation window opened, fresh air rushed in and began to circulate. The narrow space became visibly less stuffy.
“Actually, I saw a short video once. It said that eating in a bathroom for the first time is a very novel experience that really boosts the appetite!”
“Really? Then I’ll try it right now!”
Su Zhihan couldn’t wait to open one of the mousse cups. She took a scoop with a disposable spoon, and her large eyes squinted into sweet crescents.
Ye Zhou’s eyelid couldn’t stop twitching.
‘Is that so? A single lie made up on the spot, and you, with your brain addled by sweets, just went along with it? Oh well, at least it worked.’
However, right then, his phone vibrated slightly. He pulled it out to check.
[Lin Shulan: The locksmith is busy and isn’t on campus. I had to contact another one. Although he isn’t on campus either, he should arrive in about 10 minutes. Are you two doing okay?]
[Ye Zhou: We’re fine. Don’t worry.]
