As it turned out, this women’s clothing shop did have some relatively normal clothes after all. In the end, under her mother’s recommendation, Mu Yanxin bought several new outfits.
Of course, they still had to fit her mother’s aesthetic. The few pieces Mu Yanxin picked for herself that were too plain or too much like men’s clothes were all vetoed by her mother.
One was a frilly white dress, long-sleeved and knee-length, with lace trimming on the skirt and cuffs, and a big bow tied at the back.
There were matching stockings and little leather shoes in the same style. Looking in the mirror after putting it on, it did seem very pure.
Immortal Brain called this a “princess dress,” but Mu Yanxin couldn’t see what made it suitable for a princess.
She had seen a few princesses of mortal empires in her previous life, and they all wore palace gowns. She had no desire to wear this dress, either.
Then there was a leisure tracksuit: a white T-shirt with a black jacket and tight pants that were very easy to move in.
Immortal Brain said these were called “jeans,” and supposedly there was a group of people who raised spirit beasts for high-level cultivators called “cowboys,” who loved to wear this kind of pants.
Nowadays, though, they’d been changed into all sorts of more stylish and comfortable designs.
Next was a light green traditional outfit, called a Sword Immortal Gown in the shop. This one was Mu Yanxin’s own pick.
Its style was much like the dresses worn by female cultivators in her past life, but the skirt was cut away on both sides, leaving only the front and back hems. It actually looked a bit like the outfits of demonic path enchantresses.
In other words, it was the style of an orthodox female immortal, combined with the features of a demonic path enchantress—a product of merging the two.
At least this sort of ancient style was something Mu Yanxin could accept more easily. After putting it on, she really did feel somewhat ethereal. As for the exposed thighs, she would just wear long stockings.
There was also a futuristic bodysuit, made entirely from special materials. It looked like a silvery film clinging to the body, with some mechanical structures along the edges.
It could adjust body temperature, and was extremely comfortable to move in.
It even came with a pair of very mechanical-looking long boots that could automatically stick to magical artifacts, so she wouldn’t have to worry about being thrown off while riding one.
The only thing Mu Yanxin couldn’t figure out was, the film suit clearly included shorts, yet deliberately added a short skirt at the waist.
Besides serving as a purely decorative touch, it seemed like its only purpose was to entice people to peek underneath.
Lastly, there was underwear. The reason Mu Yanxin had been so sensitive about clothing earlier was simply because she wasn’t wearing any underwear at all.
But choosing it proved even more troublesome, because even women’s underwear in this world came in so many styles.
In her previous life, there wasn’t this sort of underwear that only covered the chest—only dudou existed. And there certainly weren’t lacy, see-through panties.
Who was supposed to appreciate such intricate designs if they were hidden inside?
Then Mu Yanxin remembered those extremely short skirts that barely covered anything.
If someone paired such a short skirt with lacy, see-through panties and then flew through the air, a gust of wind would make for quite an eye-catching scene—just the thought was overwhelming.
Mu Yanxin was definitely unwilling to wear those lacy panties, no matter how pretty or comfortable they were. In the end, she only bought a few pairs of regular underwear.
After much hesitation, she settled on dudou for her bras—just like in her previous life—but this time made from a silvery special material.
“Eh? I didn’t expect Xiner to be such a fan of ancient styles. I never noticed it before,” her mother remarked, puzzled as she looked over Mu Yanxin’s selections.
Afraid her mother would start suspecting her, Mu Yanxin quickly replied, “That was when I was still a man, after all. Now that I’ve become a woman, of course what I wear feels different.”
“Hehe, actually, I like ancient styles too. Those high-level cultivators who’ve lived for thousands of years mostly prefer them as well. Xiner has good taste. Next, let’s go show your dad, and then we still need to pick a new girl’s name for you,” her mother said with a smile.
