“I have something that needs to be handed to the teacher.”
Absentminded, Xia Yu suddenly heard a familiar voice from outside the door.
Tilting his head curiously, he looked toward the doorway where a tall figure stood, wearing a calm and honest expression.
He wondered why this person had come here.
The two didn’t make eye contact, but Xia Yu caught a glimpse of the serious demeanor of that person, which strongly reminded him of their first meeting in the Chinese department.
It was rare to see Mo Yidong show this side of himself, like an adult who had been through life’s trials, even though he was only eighteen, possessing a maturity that didn’t fit his age.
In stark contrast, Xia Yu was always so carefree and scattered no matter when.
“How could he be here!?”
Mo Yaofei was the one who felt surprised seeing Mo Yidong show up.
He immediately sat up from his bed, his face showing obvious distress mixed with a touch of panic when he saw the yellow Fu Zhou in Mo Yidong’s hand.
“What is that? Let me see?”
Teacher Qiu took the object from Mo Yidong, who then added,
“I also brought a classmate here.”
As Mo Yidong spoke, Xia Yu noticed another black-haired boy wearing a baseball jersey standing outside the door.
He instantly understood what was going on.
From the corner of his eye, Xia Yu saw Mo Yaofei’s sullen expression—it looked as if he had eaten something bad.
His face had darkened, his mouth slightly agape, wanting to say something but unable to find the words.
One could read his thoughts clearly:
“This is a complete disaster.”
Unfortunately, Mo Yaofei’s limbs were not in good shape; he moved awkwardly and couldn’t escape even if he wanted to.
Teacher Qiu held the object handed over by Mo Yidong with a serious look, seeming to know that this was not something she could decide on alone.
“Teacher Mu, could you come here for a moment?”
“What’s the matter?”
Teacher Mu approached the door, and Teacher Qiu quickly shut it, making sure those inside couldn’t hear the conversation outside.
No matter; Xia Yu could eavesdrop.
Mo Yaofei gritted his teeth and glared at Xia Yu.
If only he could stand up, if only the restraints were off, he would tear Xia Yu apart with his own hands.
“What exactly is your relationship with Mo Yidong?”
Mo Yaofei couldn’t understand why Mo Yidong had suddenly appeared at the fire scene and why he was helping Xia Yu.
“Didn’t I already tell you?”
Mo Yaofei’s question interrupted Xia Yu’s eavesdropping.
Turning his head, Xia Yu saw the other’s frantic expression and calmly repeated,
“We’re classmates and deskmates.”
Mo Yaofei clenched his fists, his shoulders trembling slightly.
It looked like Xia Yu was going to get a Punishment, but someone was defending him.
No matter.
Mo Yaofei still had two chances.
As long as they made both of them lose in the game following the rules Mo Yidong had set, the pain he was feeling now would be nothing.
“This is what we found in Mo Yaofei’s room.”
Both teachers immediately recognized the origin of the item.
Using Fu Zhou to change bodies was a violation of the rules and subject to Punishment.
At this moment, the boy in the baseball jacket standing next to Mo Yidong truthfully explained to the teachers how he had lost consciousness for a period after entering the training field.
“Xia Yu hitting Mo Yaofei was also caused by this incident. We hope the teachers will consider this carefully and give a lighter Punishment.”
Mo Yidong spoke sincerely to both teachers.
Teacher Qiu, however, still looked puzzled and wasn’t sure if everything Mo Yidong said was entirely true.
“I do not protect any student. Once we complete the investigation, we will give everyone an explanation.”
“I also found some Surveillance Footage in the Monitoring Room. It does show Mo Yaofei sticking something on this student.”
Mo Yidong said as he took out his phone and played the video he had recorded.
For a moment, Teacher Mu was left speechless, completely convinced.
Faced with the solid evidence, Teacher Qiu pressed her lips, her pride wounded.
She bowed her head deeply in apology to the two.
“I will make sure to properly discipline Mo Yaofei afterward.”
Teacher Qiu finally felt relieved inside.
She suddenly understood why Xia Yu, after being called here, had kept that indifferent expression no matter what was said.
Xia Yu had no proof in hand, so no matter what he said, the teachers wouldn’t believe him.
In the room, Xia Yu quietly listened to the conversation outside.
Mo Yidong’s actions made him feel unsettled.
Xia Yu was already used to being framed and scolded by teachers.
This matter had nothing to do with that person, so why did this happen?
Xia Yu found it strange.
The talk outside soon neared its end.
Teacher Qiu opened the door again and looked at Xia Yu, who was frozen in place, seemingly lost in thought.
Snapping him out of it, she said,
“Xia Yu, go back to the Male Dormitory to rest. We need to talk with Mo Yaofei alone.”
“Uh… okay.”
Xia Yu replied casually, brushing past Teacher Qiu.
From the corner of his eye, he caught the hateful yet reluctant look on Mo Yaofei’s face, and deliberately teased,
“Take your time talking. Hope you enjoy it.”
Just as Xia Yu stepped out, he saw a familiar figure waiting nearby, accompanied by Zhang Wenshan.
“Did you get him out?”
“Yes, brought him out.”
Before Xia Yu could greet or thank Mo Yidong, Zhang Wenshan poked his head inside to check the situation and then walked toward Xia Yu.
“We have solid evidence. Don’t worry.”
Zhang Wenshan looked at Xia Yu’s worried face and lightly patted his shoulder, offering encouragement.
Not knowing how to properly thank them, Xia Yu collected himself and forced a smile, trying to lift his spirits.
“Thank you both.”
“Don’t thank me.”
Zhang Wenshan said, raising his right hand, thumbs up, pointing toward Mo Yidong.
“Thank Mo Yidong. He came up with all the plans.”
Xia Yu lowered his head, not daring to meet Mo Yidong’s eyes, quietly acting like a well-behaved, obedient kid.
“Thanks, Mo Yidong.”
Zhang Wenshan ruffled Xia Yu’s hair.
“How come it feels like this kid went stupid after falling down the stairs?”
“That’s not true!”
Xia Yu immediately retorted.
“Can I touch your head too?”
Xia Yu was stunned, unsure if he had heard correctly.
With a questioning look, Xia Yu softly answered,
“Uh… sure.”
After he said that, he suddenly felt a cool yet strong hand rest on his head, gently moving through his hair.
A calm and steady voice came from beside his ear.
“I told you, you’re not alone. Have you forgotten that so quickly?”
Xia Yu buried his head, and the restless feeling inside him suddenly transformed into something else.
At this moment, he could feel Mo Yidong’s care and concern.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have shown up here.
“I haven’t forgotten, I just…”
“I guessed you’d say that. You’re used to handling things on your own.”
Mo Yidong had already anticipated Xia Yu’s words and took them in.
“Then try to rely on others a little. Can you do that?”
Xia Yu lowered his head and slowly nodded.
“Yeah, I’ll try…”
Just as the three were about to leave, someone called out to them from afar:
“Mo Yidong, our teacher is looking for you.”
Xia Yu saw a female classmate running hurriedly from the direction of the female dormitory, panting as she stopped in front of the three with an anxious expression.
