“Uh…”
Seeing that this elf lady was ignoring her, Vellandelle could only smile awkwardly.
Unlike the common image of elves being warm and kind, Veronie, this female lead, was quite cold and focused entirely on studying and researching various Magic.
She didn’t care much about boring things and had a rather indifferent personality.
Maybe that’s also why many people found Veronie unapproachable, leading to this seat being left empty.
Those who were originally planning to watch a joke sighed regretfully when they saw that the one who sat there was a girl no less impressive than Veronie.
Vellandelle secretly glanced at Veronie’s flawless, cool face.
For some reason, she recalled Veronie’s CG animation.
After all, Veronie’s animation was the one Vellandelle watched the most.
In the animation, even as Seleste tried her best to please, Veronie maintained a cold and disdainful expression, until finally reacting, her face breaking into a ruined expression.
That kind of scene really poked at Vellandelle’s XP.
Veronie, sitting beside her, sensed Vellandelle’s gaze and was slightly displeased.
She finally spoke.
“Why do you keep looking at me?”
Hearing Veronie speak, Vellandelle already felt pretty good.
Normally, Veronie would just glare back coldly.
Come to think of it, as an elf, Veronie probably had a thing for attractive faces—at least her attitude toward herself was a bit better.
“I’m just curious. Does my deskmate dislike me so much she won’t talk to me?”
Vellandelle feigned grievance, pretending to be a completely pitiful little girl.
Veronie was, at heart, a very kind person.
If Vellandelle looked like a poor, pitiable girl, she might actually gain Veronie’s attention.
“No.”
Veronie opened her mouth, paused for a moment, then spoke.
After that, she withdrew her gaze and looked down at the book in her hand.
It was then that Vellandelle noticed that everyone had a textbook on their desks.
“Vivilian’s Magic Summary.”
Vellandelle tilted her head, feeling a strange sense of familiarity.
Thinking carefully, she remembered that this was the name of an Academy teacher.
A very gentle teacher, quite popular in the game, though she died later on.
She didn’t expect to actually end up in her class.
Vellandelle thought about it.
A teacher willing to print her Magic experiences in advance for her students—that was indeed something that gentle teacher would do.
She tried hard to recall Vivilian’s story.
She managed to piece together some details.
Like Rosasys, Vivilian was raised by a single mother in her childhood and grew up in the countryside.
Born from a Duke and a maid, she was naive and romantic, always listening to her mother tell sweet stories about her and her father.
Later, she was found and brought back to the palace.
Because her father already had a legitimate wife, mother and daughter were looked down upon.
Yet Vivilian remained kindhearted.
Thanks to an accidental event, her high Magic talent was discovered and she was sent to Aurora Academy.
After returning, her mother passed away.
With nothing left to tie her down, she became a teacher at the Academy.
Vellandelle remembered that, in the future main storyline of the game, it seemed that Vivilian was the one who triggered the opening of the plot.
Because the nations of the Succubus Clan, Ka Jielielun and Aoluowei Sa, were about to go to war.
During that time, Vivilian’s siblings in her family died due to various accidents.
As the last remaining daughter, she hurried to inherit the title at her gravely ill father’s deathbed.
In the story, the war was one-sided.
Since both nations worshipped the same god, there weren’t many powerful followers appearing.
Aoluowei Sa practically advocated surrender as a nation.
The new emperor, facing reality, was powerless.
Although Vivilian had lived a life full of pain since childhood, her kindness made her mourn the slaughtered people who died in the war.
Her heart was full of compassion.
She stood up to face this crumbling country—a country that had never given her happy memories—and wanted to raise it up again.
She lifted the flag of Aoluowei Sa, sang, and led those who refused to give up to stand against Ka Jielielun.
Even at the end, dying on the battlefield, she remained half-kneeling on the ground, gripping the flag.
That scene moved every player in the main storyline.
“Ah…”
Vellandelle sighed.
Vivilian was a person of deep personal charm.
Despite enduring pain since childhood, she maintained a romantic and kind nature.
Before her father died, he begged her to accept the title.
Even in the face of her father’s sins—abandoning her and her mother, then letting her mother die after taking them back—she still chose to forgive.
When all the nobles fled from the flames of war, she stood alone, saving one civilian after another.
When all the Dukes were indifferent to the people’s deaths, she personally stood up to inspire people to fight.
“Forget it. No point thinking about it. Anyway, both countries are the culprits who hurt Mother and the others.”
Vellandelle flipped through the book, her mind wandering.
She felt uncertain.
She didn’t even know who was really responsible for her mother’s death and her family’s suffering.
Should she blame innocent people?
Although she knew that in the future, the two countries would go to war and countless people would die, she couldn’t feel happy about it.
As she was lost in thought, a figure stepped onto the podium.
She had blue hair cascading over her shoulders, wore a tea-break French vintage dress, looked pure and lovely all over, and had a gentle smile.
Her blue eyes shone with clarity.
“Hi hi hi, everyone, I’m Vivilian Lucinda. From now on, I’ll be your teacher.”
Vivilian placed the scroll she was holding down and spoke with a playful tone.
Many students visibly relaxed upon seeing such a cute Vivilian.
They’d been worried some old stick-in-the-mud would teach the class, making Magic lessons incredibly dull.
Who would’ve thought their teacher would be such a beautiful girl?
All of them were from noble families, so they naturally hoped classes wouldn’t be too boring.
“Teacher, you look so young. Can you really teach us well?”
One student asked curiously.
With someone bold enough to speak up, everyone turned to Vivilian, wondering how she would answer.
“Ha, let’s just say I graduated in the top three of my class. I may not be as specialized as those old grandpas in Magic, but teaching you little ones is a piece of cake.”
“Teacher, your surname is Lucinda. Are you from the Lucinda Family of Aoluowei Sa?”
“Teacher, you look so young. Are you even older than us?”
“Teacher, do you have time after class? I’m the Second Young Master of the Sival Family. I think we could have a chat…”
Some of the noble students from Aoluowei Sa suddenly realized something and asked with curiosity.
Class hadn’t even started, but the atmosphere was already lively.
“tsk…”
Vellandelle snapped out of it, realizing that the sound had actually come from Veronie.
“Can such a teacher really be reliable?”
It wasn’t that Veronie was suspicious.
Although some Magic teachers among the elves were beautiful young women, that was due to elves’ longer lifespans.
Among humans, weren’t Magic teachers usually white-bearded old men?
This teacher was just too young.
Vellandelle listened to the sound Veronie couldn’t hold back and found it a bit funny.
She remembered that, in the story, Veronie had a great relationship with this teacher—so much so that she was depressed for a long time after Vivilian’s death.
“I actually think she’ll be a good teacher.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Aurora Academy is famous, and its teachers are the elite of the Magic world.
For Vivilian to be so young and yet stand alongside those 80- or 100-year-old geezers, her abilities and skills must be unquestionable.
She probably also has her own unique insights.”
“That’s true.”
Veronie nodded and looked at the “Vivilian’s Magic Summary” in her hands.
Although the content she’d seen so far was basic Magic knowledge, it would definitely make learning easier.
Taking advantage of Veronie’s willingness to talk, Vellandelle seized the chance to keep asking.
“By the way, I still don’t know your name.”
“Veronie Flynice.”
Veronie was silent for a moment.
But perhaps thinking it wasn’t a big deal, she said her name.
