As soon as they approached, the Lizardman sentry immediately dashed back into the tribe.
Not two minutes later, he came out carrying the White Lizard Priest on his back, and set him down in front of Genasar.
Genasar was left speechless at the sight.
“What are you all doing now?”
The Priest, after a dazed two seconds, instantly wore a fawning expression, rubbing his hands and bowing low before Genasar:
“Uh… My lord, have you eaten? Had anything to drink? Gone to relieve yourself? Had a—”
Standing up, Genasar gave him a slap, but the force was much lighter than usual, just enough to tilt his head a little.
“Don’t think I won’t hit you just because you’re older than me. If you have something to say, just say it.”
However, despite taking a slap, the Priest didn’t show a hint of negative emotion. On the contrary, he flattered eagerly:
“As expected of my lord, even your slaps are so dashing and powerful…”
As he kept rambling and buttering Genasar up, seeing Genasar raise his claw again, he hurriedly got to the point:
“My lord, it’s like this. I was wondering if you still need any attendants to massage or scale you? All the young ones in my tribe—”
“Stop, stop, I know what you’re after. I don’t need it, not interested. I just came to tell you, that necromancer has already been dealt with, but that land won’t be habitable for another ten years or so. You can move your tribe back to the neighboring forest, but remember, stay away from that area.”
Land contaminated by death energy could recover with time, but it would take a very long time.
Yet the Priest didn’t seem to care about this at all, continuing to pester Genasar with endless flattery by his ear:
“My lord, truly, you should consider it. Under my teaching, every tribesman is skilled—hunting, fishing, forging, farming…”
“I already said I’m not intere… Wait, farming?”
Genasar, who’d been completely uninterested, suddenly caught on this fresh word since his reincarnation, and an idea popped into his head.
But the Priest looked a bit flustered.
“Y-yes, what’s wrong? My lord doesn’t like it?”
“Ahem, I’ve changed my mind. Following me isn’t out of the question. That’s settled. In a couple of days I’ll send you some plant seeds. You’ll be responsible for planting them. If you do a good job, I might even give you some small rewards.”
Hearing this, the Priest was overjoyed and knelt down on the spot before Genasar.
“Thank you for your trust, my lord! We definitely won’t let you down!”
“Don’t kneel at every little thing, I told you I don’t like that, really.”
“Yes, my lord doesn’t like it, so we won’t do it anymore.”
Looking at this sycophant, Genasar pursed his lips, but sighed helplessly, expressing understanding.
The life of wild beastmen could only be described as primitive and harsh, and for them, a powerful dragon was an exceptionally rare target to follow.
All for survival. Although it originally had nothing to do with him, helping out a bit while in a good mood was fine, too.
“Alright, that’s that. Oh, right, there’s a very fertile plain there, with plenty of cattle, sheep, and horses. You can move over and farm, maybe even raise livestock if you want.”
Genasar casually pointed, making the Priest a little hesitant:
“But… I heard that’s the territory of a powerful being, so I don’t dare go near. That’s why I only settled with the tribe here.”
“That’s true. I’ll go back and ask her, then let you know.”
“Hmm?”
The Priest was stunned, his heart surging with uncontrollable excitement.
He wasn’t just a dragon, he was actually connected to that powerful being as well?
He watched Genasar leave, only then realizing that Karu and Aishe had been with Genasar the whole time.
“Huh? Two more dragons? Hiss… terrifying, just terrifying! His background must be immense. My decision was definitely the right one, hahahaha~”
The Priest threw his head back and laughed.
On the other side, Genasar and the others gazed up at the towering snowy mountain, feeling their own insignificance.
“Damn! How are we supposed to get back up? Isn’t she coming to pick us up?”
No matter how they thought about it, there was no way to get up. Even if Genasar lived at the foot of the mountain until he learned to fly, he still might not be able to reach the summit safely.
And after wandering around for half a day, there was still no sign of Goli coming to take them home.
Infuriated, Genasar cursed as he walked:
“That old pervert never does anything serious, always just messing with us, always relying on her… her… That’s a miraculous sky road, you know~”
Just as he was about to curse further, he suddenly saw a patch of barren land not far ahead, with a smooth, large stone set in the middle.
It shimmered with magical light, drawing the curious Genasar over for a closer look.
“Has that stone always been there? Why didn’t I see it just now?”
Suspicious, he backed up to his previous position.
Sure enough, as soon as he got some distance, the stone vanished entirely.
At this moment, Aishe figured something out.
“It’s a barrier set by Master. It only appears when we’re close. She probably prepared it for us in advance. That stone with the magical flow has a teleportation array on top.”
“Oh, so that’s it. It’s definitely hers, right? If you’re sure, let’s go in.”
The three dragons stood atop the stone and infused it with magic, activating the teleportation array.
As a bright light flashed before their eyes, Genasar felt a wave of white mist and a faint dizziness.
It was just like riding an elevator before—his body shifted, and his mind went blank for a moment.
After a brief moment of adjustment, all discomfort vanished. When his vision cleared, they really were back in the familiar Crystal Palace.
“We’re back already? Hmm… Hmm? What’s that smell of alcohol?”
The air was filled with a rich aroma of wine, mixed with fruity and floral scents.
Genasar looked around in puzzlement, his eyes narrowing at the center of the hall, then relaxing in resignation. (ㅍ_ㅍ)
There was Goli, sprawled out on the sofa bed in the hall, holding a copy of in one hand, and a jade bottle in the other.
Her flushed face alternated between crying and laughing, who knew what she was reading.
Karu, seeing her, cheerfully dashed over and leapt onto her.
“Master, we’re back~”
Whether it was from drunkenness or being too absorbed in her book, Goli didn’t dodge or put up any defense, and Karu landed squarely on her.
“Pfft—Why are you back already?”
Although it didn’t hurt, the wine she’d just sipped all sprayed out.
She hurriedly stood up, hiding the wine and the book behind her.
At this moment, Genasar also walked over.
“What are you flustered for? I’ve seen you reading that book ages ago. Or are you afraid we’ll steal your wine?”
Somewhat tipsy and muddleheaded, Goli blurted out:
“That’s not it. Weren’t you all just out for a bit? I was just about to have a little drink, then… hic~ come protect you.”
(ᗜ△ᗜ)(ㅍ_ㅍ)(O⩊O)
“So you™ were home drinking the whole time!”
Beeep—
Genasar felt a chill down his spine. All this time, he’d thought Goli was secretly protecting them.
Seems like he’d need to be more cautious in the future.
“Wait, if you’ve been drinking all this time, when did you set up the teleportation array?”
Still puzzled, the dazed Goli waved her hand dismissively:
“That? I saw you guys on the way and got bored, so I came back to set it up, and then… You definitely haven’t tried this, it’s a wine the Elves only make once every two hundred years. I’ve waited forever for a sip. Hic~”
