In the middle of the night, Penelope, who hadn’t been able to hold her hug pillow before bed, was startled awake by a strange nightmare.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Su Mengdie lying quietly beside her.
“Su Mengdie…”
Penelope softly murmured Su Mengdie’s name and scooted bit by bit toward her, then reached out and took her into her arms.
A sweet scent wafted over her, instantly putting her somewhat at ease.
As expected, it was still more comfortable to sleep while holding something.
Besides, Su Mengdie smelled a bit too good today—so good that she actually felt a little dizzy.
Without realizing it, Penelope fell back into a deep sleep once again.

By the time she woke up again, the sun had risen as usual, and Su Mengdie had already changed into her School Uniform.
“Young Lady, it’s almost breakfast time. Wake up quickly!”
“Mm… Eh!? Su Mengdie, why didn’t you remind me earlier!”
The clock hanging on the opposite wall already pointed to seven-forty.
In a few minutes, the Head Maid would be coming to the door.
After jumping out of bed in a panic, Penelope rushed toward the Wardrobe while throwing her Pajamas into the air.
After catching the Pajamas, Su Mengdie explained what had happened that morning.
“It’s not that I didn’t try to call you, but you just wouldn’t wake up! No matter how I pushed you just now, you didn’t react… For a moment, I was so angry I wanted to just come over and give you a kick…”
“That last sentence was clearly unnecessary, but did I really sleep that soundly?”
After haphazardly pulling on her Uniform, Penelope immediately took a blue hair tie from the dressing table and held it in her mouth, then picked up a comb to brush her messy black hair.
Lately, the Young Lady’s progress had been rapid.
Not only had she learned how to dress herself, she didn’t even need Su Mengdie’s help with her morning washing and makeup anymore.
At this moment, Su Mengdie stood beside her, helping her tidy up the Uniform.
“Yes. Otherwise, why would I have been unable to wake you?”
“…That’s really strange. I don’t think I used to be this lethargic?”
Could it be that the recent training was too tiring?
“You haven’t been. Why not find some time to go see a doctor? We should make sure nothing is wrong with your body.”
“I’m not going! Even if there’s a problem, it would be with Su Mengdie’s body. What does it have to do with me?”
“Young Lady… you couldn’t possibly be afraid of going to the hospital, could you?”
When Su Mengdie asked this out of the blue, Penelope’s voice suddenly trembled slightly.
“Who’s afraid of going to the hospital! I just hate the smell of disinfectant there… Hmph~, I am the dignified Young Lady of the Jinzhi Family. To say that I’m afraid of the hospital, what a joke~!”
Since she went out of her way to explain so much, it seemed she really was.
To think the Young Lady would actually be afraid of the hospital!?
As if she had discovered something interesting, Su Mengdie kept repeating this fact in her mind, trying to memorize it.
“If you don’t want to go, then don’t go. But if I still can’t wake the Young Lady up tomorrow, I’m going to step on your face.”
“You dare!”
“What does it matter? Would the Young Lady actually be disgusted by her own feet, right?”
“Hmph~! I’m not going to argue with you. If Su Mengdie dares to do that, I’ll hang you up and beat you!”
Penelope let out a cold snort and picked up the Mobile Phone from the table.
Suddenly, she furrowed her crescent-moon-like eyebrows.
“Su Mengdie, you go ahead. I’ll be there in a moment.”
“Mm~, then hurry up, Young Lady. Breakfast won’t taste good once it gets cold.”
As soon as Su Mengdie left, Penelope immediately dialed back the missed call on her Mobile Phone.
Although it was an unknown number, Penelope recognized it.
“Violet, have you gone mad? Is there something you couldn’t say on Owl that you had to call me?”
Unlike Lu Wei and Qin Qixin, Violet had no surface identity.
In society, she was a non-existent person without a record.
Therefore, her call was actually very dangerous.
“There is a very urgent matter that can’t be explained clearly over the phone. The Young Lady wants you to find time to come over right now.”
“This urgent?”
To be summoned personally by the Oldest, it seemed things were truly pressing.
“You’ll know when you get here. You’d better hurry!”
Violet gave one last reminder in a voice full of pressure, then hung up the phone.
Even though Violet was urging her so insistently, Penelope didn’t act immediately.
While she deleted the call record, she guessed the reason why Gehronna had summoned her this time.
Thinking it over, the only thing recently that could be related to her was probably the Defeat in luring Swallowtail yesterday.
But that shouldn’t count as some particularly urgent matter, right?
Was it worth a personal summons from the Oldest?
Although Penelope thought it unlikely, she still prepared her talking points in advance before sending a message to Su Mengdie.
‘Su Mengdie, help me ask for half a day off.
There’s an urgent matter at the Company, and I have to go there immediately.’
Seeing this message from the Young Lady, Su Mengdie’s head suddenly buzzed.
An urgent matter at the Company… The Young Lady is going personally, and she’s using her body!?
What on earth is the Young Lady thinking!

“You’re finally here. We’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”
Seeing the transformed Penelope walking from the end of the dark, deep corridor, Violet immediately pulled open the door behind her.
“Urging me is useless. Do you know what time it is? You called me during the morning rush hour. Do you know how much trouble I went through to hide my tracks?”
“Sorry, I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”
She was just someone who guarded the door at the base.
She never left the front gate, and she knew nothing of the situation outside.
But Penelope felt like she was intentionally trying to annoy her.
“Then you should find some time to go out more. Look at how idle you are; mushrooms are about to grow on your body.”
“My duty is to protect the Young Lady. This isn’t an idle job…”
Violet wanted to continue arguing, but Caroline suddenly poked her head out from inside the door and interrupted her impatiently.
“Fine, fine, how much longer do you two plan to bicker outside? If you don’t come in now, the Oldest is going to fall asleep again!”
She didn’t interrupt sooner or later, yet Caroline chose to interrupt exactly when Violet was about to defend herself.
If this wasn’t intentional, no one would believe it.
After the two entered the room, Penelope discovered there were quite a few people inside.
Almost all the cadres in the organization were actually present!?
Looking at it this way, it probably had nothing to do with the Swallowtail incident…
Holding a teddy bear, the Oldest covered her mouth and let out a yawn before she began to explain the situation in a soft voice.
“I called you all here today because many of our people have mysteriously disappeared recently. At the scenes, not only was there no Magic Power residue, but there were also no signs of a struggle. It’s as if they vanished into thin air. You all must be extra careful, and also…”
Vanished into thin air?
This made Penelope think of the new Magical Girl she had encountered recently.
That Mark engraved on her lower abdomen had also disappeared for no reason…
She tilted her head toward Caroline and asked in a low voice.
“Do you know about the ‘Demon King’?”
