Night fell.
Krexia lay quietly on the bed, her small head sinking deep into the soft pillow.
The blanket covering her was thin—so thin that it accentuated the shape of her body, the gentle curves appearing especially beautiful in the moonlight streaming through the window.
Krexia had drunk three or four mugs of beer at the bar, and perhaps because the Barrel Mug was so large, her head felt a little hazy now.
Hazy, yet incomparably clear.
The reason was simple: those four Bandage Patches still faithfully guarded their posts.
Lying under the thin blanket, Krexia could feel the strangeness very clearly. The sensation was completely different from the touch of the sheets against her skin.
She had tried to fire them from their positions, but they were like hooligans popping up from nowhere, impossible to drive away.
As soon as she took them off, they would suddenly vanish, only to reappear back at their posts, clocking in and out as usual.
The instigator, Coutia, had made her intentions clear: she was playing around, and would only let her go when she was done.
“Didn’t you say you wanted me to feel that power? Is your so-called ‘feeling’ just making me sleep?”
“Don’t worry about it. Just sleep.”
Although Krexia was suspicious, she obediently pulled up the blanket and closed her eyes.
Soon, the hazy feeling in her mind enveloped her like a thick fog.
Within minutes, her consciousness vanished.
She fell into a deep coma.
Once Krexia had completely fallen asleep, a translucent Soul Form suddenly appeared out of thin air beside her.
The Soul Form bore a three-tenths resemblance to Krexia, with the same long silver hair, but her aura seemed more mature.
It was Coutia—the same being Krexia had seen before in that Mysterious Space.
Coutia, now in a transparent state, circled Krexia once, a trace of confusion flashing across her face.
Then her gaze fell on the scarlet Storage Ring placed on the bedside cabinet.
She stared at it for a while, a thoughtful look crossing her face, which quickly turned into a slightly mischievous smile.
Then, without doing anything else, she dove headfirst into Krexia’s mind and vanished.
***
A long-lost, four-sided light screen.
Krexia stood blankly in this familiar yet unfamiliar space.
She had been here before—she remembered clearly—it was just three days ago.
In front of her stood a familiar yet unfamiliar girl, one who resembled her resurrected self.
She had seen this woman before—she remembered it clearly—also three days ago.
It was this wicked… no, mischievous, little-girl-like God.
With a prankster’s heart from who-knows-where, she resurrected her in such a twisted way.
“It’s probably fine for me to call your name directly here, right, Ko-san?”
Looking at Coutia before her, Krexia didn’t shrink back; instead, she greeted her boldly.
She had wanted to elbow this bad woman countless times, but when the real thing stood before her, she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Was it out of fear?
Yes, it was fear.
If this being could whimsically resurrect her as a woman, she could just as easily, with a snap of her fingers, restore her male parts without touching any other features.
That would truly be a horror story, brother.
Now she was a woman, but at least physiologically, she still had over ninety percent similarity to a human.
“Oh, of course, little one. You know, I’ve never been a strict God. I’m quite tolerant of my believers’ actions.”
“Says the one who threatens me into obedience by stripping me?”
“It was just a whim.”
“And the Bandage Patch was a whim too?”
“Yes.”
“Even making me call you ‘Mom’?”
“Yes.”
“Great God.”
“What is it, my faithful believer?”
“Your faithful believer now prays to you. She wishes to deliver her divine elbow, granted by the Almighty God, upon your merciful and compassionate face to express her fervent faith and love.”
This time, Coutia didn’t reply. Instead, she looked at Krexia kindly.
Her gaze made Krexia feel uncomfortable all over.
Then, in the empty, spotless space, the crisp sound of slapping flesh echoed, accompanied by someone’s cry of anguish.
A few minutes later, Krexia stood trembling before Coutia, clutching her aching backside, her face twisted in pain.
Coutia looked the same as when they first met, her expression unchanged.
“Spanking too? Are you raising me as your daughter now?”
“Already beginning to see yourself as a girl from the heart, huh? Not a bad start. When you try to adapt to your powers later, you should get good results.”
Coutia looked at Krexia’s Soul with satisfaction.
Krexia’s Soul had been thoroughly modified by Coutia upon resurrection. To help her adapt to her new body, Coutia had even reshaped Krexia’s Soul to match the appearance of the new vessel.
Because of that, Krexia’s Soul could now be described as “utterly unrecognizable” compared to the lively young master she used to be.
In human terms: identical to the body’s outward appearance.
Even if a familiar face appeared before her, no one would recognize her—no chance.
The difference was too great; they simply weren’t the same person anymore.
“Alright, let’s not waste time. The night is short, so let’s get to the point.”
Coutia stopped teasing Krexia and produced a beaker filled with a purple, smoking liquid from who-knows-where.
“Since there’s still a barrier between your Soul and your body—meaning you haven’t subconsciously accepted your new body yet—if you unseal the Witch’s Power in reality, your Soul could easily be swallowed up.”
“That’s why I waited until you were asleep to extract your consciousness, letting you come into contact with this power under my absolute control, in relative safety.”
The Witch explained seriously, and Krexia felt a bit suspicious of her words.
Was it really so dangerous just to come into contact with it?
But that only proved how powerful the ability was. If she could fully absorb it, she’d gain enough strength to oppose them.
Damn it—if it weren’t for that foolish Third Princess, I wouldn’t have to take such risks and mental strain just to become stronger!
“Alright, introduction over. Let’s move on to the next step.”
Coutia stepped forward, smiling, holding that mysterious purple liquid.
Then she poured it over Krexia’s head.
