“Eh? This group chat…”
Mu Xingge stared at the group name appearing on Xiaoxi’s phone: “v Me 50 Crazy Thursday Discussion Group,” a genuine look of confusion crossing her face.
Could it be that Sirius was secretly reading her little harem novel? That just sounded too strange no matter how she thought about it.
Or even worse—what if Sirius herself was the author of this book…
With that thought, Mu Xingge couldn’t help but give Xiaoxi a suspicious once-over.
This is bad! Xiaoxi outwardly remained calm, but inside she was frantically brainstorming countermeasures. She absolutely couldn’t let Mu Xingge find out she was writing a little harem novel about her!
Calm down. Playing dead now definitely wasn’t a good choice. Mu Xingge had sent messages in the group yesterday; she knew exactly what the group was about.
So lying in front of Mu Xingge would only backfire. Xiaoxi had to take the initiative to expose the matter… but how to bring it up?
“That group chat name is pretty unique. What kind of group is it?” Mu Xingge cautiously asked from the other side.
“Well, this group is… a reader group for a little harem novel based on you, senior!” Xiaoxi closed her eyes and gritted her teeth, choosing to reveal everything all at once.
Then she immediately struck an indignant pose.
“I happened to come across this novel a couple of days ago, and its content really made me angry! Mu Xingge, senior, you’re a magical girl who protects the people—how could someone write such a thing using you as the prototype?”
“I joined this author’s reader group out of curiosity… not because I was interested in the content, but because I wanted to see what kind of person could shamelessly write something like that!”
Xiaoxi wore a face full of disgust. Mu Xingge stared at her for a few seconds, then nodded in agreement.
Well, that made sense. She’d only just met Sirius recently, so she definitely wasn’t that familiar with her. There was no way she could have written something like that.
But this girl actually wanted to defend her—that was pretty nice of her… A warm feeling blossomed in Mu Xingge’s heart.
“It’s fine. Just pretend you didn’t see that kind of stuff,” Mu Xingge smiled gently. “Besides, it’s not like they named me directly. I’ve always been indifferent to that kind of thing.”
Her current easygoing tone sharply contrasted with the gritted-teeth anger Mu Xingge had shown earlier in Miss L’s office. If Xiaoxi hadn’t known that Mu Xingge had secretly added the reader group with a private account, she might have actually believed her.
“I’ll add you as a friend first…”
Just as Mu Xingge was about to look down and click to confirm adding her as a friend, Xiaoxi suddenly realized something and grabbed Mu Xingge’s wrist.
“You can’t add me!”
Xiaoxi had spotted a problem—Mu Xingge could just open the group members list and see who the group owner was. Even if she hadn’t looked closely yesterday, that didn’t mean she wouldn’t later.
If Mu Xingge added her as a friend, it wouldn’t be long before she found out that Xiaoxi’s account was the same as the group owner’s!
Now Xiaoxi was full of regret—how could she have forgotten to use a different account to create the group? Things like this needed to be done in secret!
“Sirius, are you okay? Why can’t I add you as a friend?”
Seeing Mu Xingge’s confused look, Xiaoxi realized she’d overreacted and gave an awkward laugh, pulling her hand back.
“It’s just that… I suddenly remembered this QQ account is my alt. I don’t really use it.”
“I definitely wouldn’t want to use my main account to join such a shameless, disgusting group. I just forgot to switch back after joining with my alt yesterday.”
Xiaoxi added that explanation to make her excuse sound more reasonable.
“I see,” Mu Xingge nodded. “Then I’ll add your main account.”
But faced with Mu Xingge’s probing gaze, Xiaoxi stood frozen, hesitating.
Where else could she find another QQ account to give Mu Xingge now?
“I… I just remembered… I think I forgot the password to my main account. Maybe I’ll add you later, senior?”
A clumsy excuse—Mu Xingge wasn’t that slow. Xiaoxi’s repeated evasions were obviously suspicious.
Just as Xiaoxi nervously tried to think of what to say next, Little Red Riding Hood’s energetic voice came from the side.
“I’ve finished collecting all the monster seeds! The logistics team has started clearing the area. What are you two chatting about, senior?”
The sudden appearance of Little Red Riding Hood gave Xiaoxi a way out. She quickly shifted the conversation, telling her everything that had just happened—except for the reader group part.
“Is that so?”
Little Red Riding Hood frowned immediately, showing the same righteous indignation as Xiaoxi—except hers was genuine, while Xiaoxi’s was fake.
Since Little Red Riding Hood liked magical girls, she simply couldn’t tolerate something like this.
“I want to see which shameless person could actually do such a thing!”
She downloaded a Pineapple Novel app and started searching.
“This is the book, right? Let me see…”
Little Red Riding Hood angrily opened the first chapter… but after half a minute, she deflated completely and fell silent.
Is this the shameless, disgusting novel that Sirius and senior Mu Xingge talked about?
Why did it look so familiar? Wait… this was written by my sister before, wasn’t it?
So not only did my sister offend senior Mu Xingge, but senior also found out?
Haha, so the shameless person you guys were talking about… is my dear sister.
Little Red Riding Hood instantly wilted. Like Xiaoxi, the sisters shared the same thought in their minds.
We absolutely cannot let senior find out that I (older sister) secretly wrote a little harem novel about Xingge (senior)!
“Oh, right. I’ll add you as a friend too, Little Red Riding Hood.”
“Okay, okay, senior Mu Xingge…”
Mu Xingge added Little Red Riding Hood as a friend, then casually opened the “v Me 50 Crazy Thursday Discussion Group” chat to check the group owner’s profile.
She still remembered what Xiaoxi’s profile looked like just now. Looking now… hmm, the two didn’t seem to be the same person.
Xiaoxi, who was quietly observing Mu Xingge’s expression, breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, she had taken the chance when Mu Xingge added Coco as a friend to change her own name, avatar, and signature. Otherwise, she would have been exposed for sure.
Afterwards, Xiaoxi and Little Red Riding Hood both fell silent, not daring to look at Mu Xingge. Both were plagued by the same sense of guilt.
“Let’s go. We’ll leave the rest to the logistics team to handle.”
Mu Xingge felt the atmosphere was a bit strange but couldn’t quite say why.
“Senior Mu Xingge, aren’t you tired? Let me carry the monster seeds for you.”
“Senior Mu Xingge must be busy usually, so I’ll write this mission report.”
Seeing the two of them respectfully following behind, Mu Xingge even felt a bit defeated.
Is it really so hard to build a good relationship with teammates?
Though she knew she was a bit hot-tempered in private, honestly, her attitude just now was pretty approachable, right? So why did these two look so scared of her?
