The next morning, Su Ran didn’t come to deliver breakfast.
Lin Mo was woken by his alarm. When he sat up, his head still felt sore and heavy.
Probably the latest he had ever stayed up and the longest “session” in his life.
He really didn’t want to admit it, but Su Ran had gone crazy—and he had gone crazy right along with her.
Listening to those barely suppressed low moans through the phone, looking at the sexy photos on his screen, thinking back to the intimate kisses in the Lijing apartment, and on top of that, knowing the whole thing was being monitored…
Honestly, this kind of outrageous indulgence really did multiply the pleasure.
The price? Feeling completely drained, and now proudly sporting two dark circles.
“Morning… Day two with no breakfast…”
He mumbled a greeting to the empty room. Almost immediately, his phone buzzed.
It was Su Ran’s reply: ‘I made it. I’ll bring it to school for you to eat.’
“Holy shit, we went until past four last night—you didn’t sleep at all?”
‘Mm… I’ll nap at noon, it’s fine.’
“My bad, my bad. Won’t drag you into that again.”
‘NO!!’
The text had barely arrived when the phone call came right after.
Lin Mo laughed and hung up, then looked up at the ceiling and said aloud: “Just teasing. If I don’t play with you, who else am I gonna play with? But we gotta show some restraint from now on. Can’t go that hard again like last night.”
Su Ran: ‘Okay… Are you very tired?’
How could he not be tired?
Six times, missy!
Six goddamn times, you little demon!
“Still okay, just… that kind of thing is bad for the body.”
Lin Mo got up to wash his face. He was about to set the phone down, then picked it up again. “By the way… how about we buy a couple of walkie-talkies? Would the range be enough?”
‘Sure. MTO3150 Bluetooth walkie-talkies, very convenient. I’ll buy them right now.’
“No need, I’ll handle it.”
Morning sunlight poured in through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The huge apartment was dead quiet except for the occasional sound of a young man talking to thin air.
If anyone else were in the house, they’d probably think Lin Mo had lost his mind.
…
Today, Chen Yu unusually woke up very early. It was as if some mysterious intuition had dragged him to school ahead of time.
He didn’t even know why he came so early. He sat alone in the classroom for a while, couldn’t focus on reading, so he simply got up to go shoot some basketball.
Just as he stepped out the door, he saw Su Ran walking toward him with unsteady steps.
She had put on light makeup and still looked impeccably delicate, but the moment she opened her mouth, the illusion shattered.
“Thank you for yesterday…”
!?
Chen Yu was just about to say good morning when he froze. “Did you eat bullets for breakfast? Why is your voice so hoarse?”
Su Ran lowered her head and hurried past him.
Chen Yu’s gaze followed her. He suddenly noticed her face was flushed red, like she had a fever.
It took him a second to process. Then he turned back toward the corridor, took two steps, abruptly spun around and rushed back into the classroom—just in time to see Su Ran sit down at Lin Mo’s desk and softly collapse forward onto it.
Su Ran was startled by him and instantly shot upright, sitting ramrod straight. Her face turned even redder.
She lowered her eyes and began tidying Lin Mo’s desk, clearly trying to cover her panic.
Chen Yu stood at the doorway, pinching his chin and squinting. A wicked, playful smile slowly curled his lips.
“You two… last night…”
Su Ran pressed her lips tightly together and shook her head. “It’s not what you’re thinking.”
As she said it, she subtly clenched her thighs together in self-punishment.
It hurt a little—but not the kind of hurt she wanted.
Chen Yu felt it wouldn’t be right to tease a girl about something like this and hadn’t planned to pry further. But just as he turned to leave, he caught a glimpse of what looked like disappointment on Su Ran’s face.
He stepped out of the classroom—and his brain immediately went into overdrive.
What the hell?
Could it be… Lin Mo can’t perform?
No way. If he couldn’t perform, how would her voice end up that hoarse?
So… he performed too well?
Is he the real pervert?
Just as Chen Yu was lost in thought, he saw Lin Mo coming up the stairs, rubbing his waist.
The two of them locked eyes—one going up, one going down—and both froze at the same time, staring wide-eyed at each other.
Lin Mo reacted first. The hand that had been supporting his waist shot into his pocket at lightning speed. He straightened his back instantly. “You’re here so early today?”
“Oh… yeah.”
Chen Yu glanced at Lin Mo’s hand, then at his waist, and finally at the two dark shadows under his eyes. Suspiciously, he said, “Bro… you really opened my eyes. Knife up the ass level.”
Lin Mo’s pupils shrank. For a split second he thought Su Ran had told Chen Yu everything about last night.
Then he realized—there was no way in hell she would ever talk about that.
He immediately frowned. “What do you mean?”
Chen Yu walked down toward him. As he passed, he patted Lin Mo on the shoulder and said earnestly, “Sometimes being too fierce scares girls. Makes them think you’re a pervert… Life is long, man. Gotta pace yourself.”
With that, he headed downstairs, leaving Lin Mo standing there completely bewildered.
What the hell?
Thinks I’m a pervert?
Who?
Su Ran?
She’s the main culprit—where does she get the right?
Full of confusion, he walked into the classroom—and immediately saw Su Ran lying face-down on his desk.
He was just about to greet her when—swish—Su Ran suddenly stood up and bolted out the other door of the classroom so fast it made him wonder what exactly she was afraid of.
Afraid of embarrassment?
Or… actually afraid of him?
Lin Mo scratched his head, inexplicably feeling a little pleased.
He didn’t think too much about it—because a lovingly prepared bento box was already sitting on his desk, along with a thermos.
Ever since that first time, Su Ran had religiously taken over both his breakfast and lunch. If she didn’t have piano practice after school, she’d probably try to cover dinner too.
Lin Mo didn’t mind, but the auntie at home was extremely nervous, worried she’d get fired one day.
While no other classmates had arrived yet, he unscrewed the thermos and peeked inside—then froze.
It was a pot of soup.
A carefully brewed tonic soup.
Floating in the glistening oil were a shocking number of goji berries—so red it instantly gave him a bad feeling.
“No way…”
Lin Mo suddenly got nervous and hurriedly opened the bento box.
Holy crap—chives, oysters, black beans, black sesame. A full-on yang-strengthening set meal!
And somehow it was oddly thoughtful?
In his mind, short videos from his past life automatically popped up: a husband hiding and trembling with a pale face while his glowing, radiant wife searched everywhere like a demon—playing hide-and-seek or hunting for her personal “beauty wand,” who could tell?
Was this his future?
At first Lin Mo resisted.
He was an eighteen-year-old in his prime—what did he need tonics for?
Did he have no shame?
But then he remembered Su Ran’s soft, coquettish voice from last night—“more, more”—and suddenly the pressure doubled. His hand holding the chopsticks even trembled a little.
No helping it now. Might as well eat.
His girl was a bit special anyway. Toning up in advance wasn’t exactly shameful… right?
Outside the classroom, Su Ran leaned against the wall, clutching her violently heaving chest. Her whole face burned so hot she could barely breathe.
Like Lin Mo, she too remembered how she had acted last night—soft and spoiled, begging for more. But the more she thought about it, the more ashamed she felt, the more embarrassed, especially when she recalled how she had actually prepared a yang-tonic meal for him… first thing in the morning.
Pervert!
Total pervert!
What if classmates saw this, Su Ran you absolute pervert!
The more she thought, the more chaotic her mind became, the more anxious she grew—afraid someone would come at that moment, afraid Lin Mo would despise her, even more afraid he’d end up saddled with bad rumors again because of her.
The anxiety quietly fermented. Her messy thoughts overwhelmed her reason until the terror of gain-and-loss broke through the tipping point—just as a female classmate walked toward her from the opposite direction.
Su Ran’s pupils shrank sharply. She immediately wanted to rush in and snatch the bento away.
But the moment she turned toward the classroom, she saw Lin Mo tilt his head back and chug the entire thermos in huge gulps. His Adam’s apple moved sexily with every swallow. Watching it made her face burn crimson—she wanted to throw herself at him right then and bite it twice.
Finally, the whole pot of soup was gone.
Not a single goji berry left.
The bento box was also cleaned out.
Lin Mo shook his head like he was a little drunk on yang energy. When he turned and looked at Su Ran, his face was just as red as if he had a fever. He even gave a silly, goofy smile.
“Not sure if it’s my imagination, but it feels kinda strong… like I’m about to explode…”
Before he could finish, and before Su Ran could signal him to shut up, the female classmate walked in from behind Su Ran and asked curiously, “What’s about to explode?”
“Huh? Why are both your faces so red?”
