Su Chun immediately sucked in a breath of cold air.
The Ancient Immortal Era was such a distant age, at least 1,000,000 years ago.
In other words, this place had existed for 1,000,000 years.
The Ancient Immortal Era was a golden age where gods and demons coexisted, and countless experts emerged, but it was also the most chaotic and cruel era.
It was precisely because the war between the various races of that era was so tragic that the original Immortal Domain Continent was shattered, resulting in the current Nine Heavens and Ten Lands.
It was also because the casualties among the various races were so severe at that time that the current era of coexistence for the myriad races began.
As the saying goes, peace is not negotiated; it is forged through battle.
Only when both sides feel the pain do they understand how precious peace truly is.
After the Great Ancient Immortal War ended, the various races signed the Ancient Immortal Covenant, formally bringing the Ancient Immortal Era to a close.
The first article of the Ancient Immortal Covenant was the coexistence of the myriad races and mutual non-interference.
If any race provoked a war, they would be in breach of the covenant, and the other races could rise up and attack them together.
As for small-scale scuffles over treasures in a Secret Realm, those were unavoidable.
Where there are people, there is society — not to mention that with the myriad races living in one world, friction was inevitable.
‘It is no wonder the aura here is so oppressive,’ Su Chun thought.
Su Chun felt as if she were having some difficulty breathing.
Seeing her rapid breathing, Luo Li immediately asked, “Husband, are you feeling a bit uncomfortable? The killing intent from that ancient war still lingers in the air here, which affects living beings. Although you have treasures to protect you, you still have a Mortal Body. If you feel unwell, just say so.”
The moment Su Chun entered this space, the beautiful purple treasure robe she wore began to emit a mysterious aura, isolating her from the surroundings.
This garment was called the Zixia Immortal Robe, a heavy treasure of the Tantai Family.
It had the effect of resisting negative energy and could also withstand energy impacts; it had many uses.
“I am fine. It is bearable,” Su Chun said, shaking her head to indicate she was okay.
“Enough. The Secret Realm is fraught with danger. Not only are there powerful restrictions, Formations, and a large number of fierce beasts, but there are also the lingering malevolent souls of fallen experts and competitors from other races. From now on, the disciples of the Nine Branches must stay close to their elders. Do not leave the group without permission; follow the instructions of your elders for every action,” Tantai Xuan ordered in a deep voice.
After the order was given, the Nine Branches began to separate.
It was impossible for several hundred people to move together, as that would not be conducive to finding opportunities.
Su Chun stayed close to Luo Li, Luo Yu, and Wang Xi. Although Wang Xi was young, she possessed the Wang Family Bloodline and had a cultivation at the Spirit Sea Realm, Level 3.
Su Chun had come purely to find the Chaos Spring.
Chaos Spring Water was difficult to preserve, so the best way to utilize it was to jump directly into the spring and let the water nourish one’s body.
Otherwise, there would have been no need for Su Chun to take such a risk.
Su Chun looked around curiously.
Occasionally, she could see massive fossilized bones left behind by unknown creatures.
Some even flickered with faint glimmers of energy, clearly having belonged to beings with impressive cultivation during their lives.
“Husband, look there,” Luo Yu suddenly pointed to a collapsed, massive stone statue nearby.
The statue was in ruins, with only half of its torso remaining, yet one could still sense its former grandeur and majesty.
The material of the statue was neither metal nor stone, and it was covered in blurred ancient runes that pulsed with faint energy fluctuations.
“These are diagrams and texts from the Ancient Immortal Era.”
Tantai Qiong Hua stepped forward and observed for a moment before quickly shaking her head.
“Unfortunately, too much time has passed. The energy has completely drained away, and most of the runes have been eroded. It has no value left. Let us continue forward. Our primary goal is the Chaos Spring. Until we find it, everything else must take a backseat.”
The Tantai Family had notified almost all their allied powers to help search for the Chaos Spring.
This Chaos Spring would not appear in a fixed location; it changed positions almost every interval of time.
As the team ventured deeper, the oppressive aura became increasingly intense.
A gemstone necklace hanging around Su Chun’s neck lit up with a verdant light of life; this was the Purity Warding Jade.
It also had the effect of resisting evil and baleful auras, allowing the wearer to remain clear-headed at all times.
It had not taken effect earlier because the Zixia Immortal Robe was sufficient to protect Su Chun, but now that they were here, the power of the robe was clearly no longer enough.
Su Chun had no power of her own and relied entirely on the strength of these treasures to resist the baleful aura of the Myriad Races Secret Realm, putting a heavy strain on the items.
*Roar!*
As they walked, a world-shaking beast roar echoed in their ears.
It seemed there was trouble ahead.
Everyone immediately became alert.
Tantai Qiong Hua and the others instantly moved to the front of the group.
The ground shook violently as a thick, malevolent aura rushed toward them from the front.
“Fierce beasts.”
“And more than one.”
Su Chun also grew tense and gripped the Divine Pen of Creation tightly.
She could feel several powerful auras hidden in the canyon, each one capable of easily crushing her.
A moment later, several ferocious-looking beasts charged out of the canyon.
They resembled hyenas but were the size of cattle, covered in black scales with their fangs bared.
Their blood-red eyes stared fixedly at the Tantai Family’s team, filled with a bloodthirsty desire.
“They are Soul-Devouring Blood Beasts. Watch out for their sonic attacks. Those with low cultivation might have their souls knocked right out of their bodies by their roars,” Tantai Qiong Hua recognized the species and quickly warned everyone.
“Pah! What is there to be afraid of? Just a few little dogs daring to block the way. Watch me deal with them.”
Tantai Qing let out a cold snort and, with a flicker of her silhouette, appeared at the front of the group.
She did not even use a magical treasure.
She simply joined her fingers like a sword and made a light slashing motion toward the Soul-Devouring Blood Beast charging at the very front.
A purple sword light flew out silently, piercing through the head of the Soul-Devouring Blood Beast in an instant.
Bright red blood sprayed out as the massive body crashed to the ground, its life force extinguished.
The remaining Soul-Devouring Blood Beasts seemed enraged.
They let out piercing roars and opened their maws wide, sending waves of gray sonic energy sweeping toward Tantai Qing.
“Courting death.”
Tantai Qing curled her lip in disdain as purple light flared around her, forming an invisible barrier that blocked all the sonic waves.
She moved again, weaving between the Soul-Devouring Blood Beasts like a ghost.
Several dull thuds followed as the beasts were decapitated one after another, unable to even let out a final cry.
The entire process was clean and efficient, taking no more than several seconds.
Su Chun watched, dumbfounded.
The strength of an expert in the Sendai Realm was truly terrifying!
“Sister is so amazing,” Su Chun praised sincerely.
In reality, the strongest of these Soul-Devouring Blood Beasts was only at the Four Poles Realm, so they were naturally no match for someone in the Sendai Realm.
Upon hearing Su Chun’s voice, Tantai Qing immediately turned back with a proud grin and winked at her.
Then, she looked toward Tantai Xuan as if seeking credit.
“Mother, how was that?”
Tantai Xuan gave her a flat look.
“Just a few beasts at the Four Poles Realm. Do not be careless. Continue moving forward.”
The team set off once again.
With so many elders present, the fierce beasts they encountered along the way were handled with ease.
Su Chun was happy to enjoy the leisure, observing the surroundings and sketching the forms of the various beasts and ruins in her mind, treating it as a way to gather material for her paintings.
