Iris was in an incredibly good mood today.
Ever since that clingy Holy Knight Captain suddenly popped up at Anya’s side, things had gotten a lot better for her— now Anya didn’t have the time to visit her System Space at all.
“Anya!” Lina stripped off her armor, which glimmered with a silvery sheen, and waved at Anya excitedly, holding a Plush Bunny she’d somehow picked up.
Her room was just two doors down from Anya’s—really close, just a few steps away.
Anya was genuinely startled to see Lina without her armor.
The two of them were about the same height, a little over 1.6 meters, and Lina’s skin was as white as snow.
If she didn’t already know Lina’s identity, who would ever think that this blonde girl was actually the Holy Knight Captain?
She looked much more like a soft, sweet next-door little sister.
“You’ve been putting me off all day! Now you finally have to let me see what your room looks like, right?” Lina hugged the Plush Bunny and shook it gently, her tone just a bit coquettish.
Watching this scene, Iris couldn’t help but mutter from the side, “Little Anya, this new friend of yours is really something—she sure sticks to you.”
Despite saying this, Iris was secretly delighted. After all, with this girl around, little Anya wouldn’t be able to come to her System Space—which meant today she could finally read her comics with a clear conscience.
Anya was at her wits’ end. She didn’t actually dislike Lina’s personality, but being stuck to like this all the time was just a bit overwhelming.
“Lina, there’s really nothing much to see in my room.” She spread her hands, her tone full of helplessness.
“Come on, let me see~! I’ve never seen another girl’s room before!” Lina kept up her coaxing, “You don’t know what it’s like, always hanging around with a bunch of rough guys—I’ve always been curious about what other girls’ rooms look like.”
Anya usually wasn’t affected by this sort of thing—unless it was Iris acting coquettish, then maybe she’d actually enjoy it.
But Lina was just too good at sticking to people, and Anya finally had to give in, “Alright, but Lina, you can’t mess with my stuff.”
“Do I look like the type to break the rules?” Lina stuck out her tongue playfully as soon as she heard Anya agree, and immediately pushed open Anya’s door.
You really do, Anya thought to herself.
“Whoa, Anya’s room is so plain!” Lina couldn’t help but exclaim as she took in the layout—it clearly wasn’t what she’d been expecting, and she pouted a little.
She wandered around the room, and suddenly her eyes fell on a few books. The books were beautifully printed, a style she’d never seen before.
“Anya, what kind of books are these?” She didn’t reach for them, just turned to Anya and asked.
Anya’s gaze fell on the stack of comics, and she inwardly groaned. But her face stayed calm. “Just some random books, nothing much to see.”
“Nothing much? Then why do you read them every day, over and over?” Iris clicked her tongue and exposed her without mercy, “Little Anya, you’re such a hypocrite.”
Anya ignored her and quickly went to tidy up the stack, arranging the comics one by one.
“Can I take a look, Anya?” Lina’s interest was suddenly piqued, her gaze fixed curiously on the comics.
“No, you really can’t.” Anya refused without hesitation.
If anyone else saw what was in these, she’d die of embarrassment! Besides, Iris had given these to her as treasures—how could she just let anyone see them?
“Fine, fine, I’m not that interested in books anyway.” Lina didn’t push it this time, and turned around to slip into the bathroom inside the room.
“Anya, your room really doesn’t seem like a girl’s room at all.” She poked her head out and commented with a grin.
“So have you seen enough, Lina?” Anya said, somewhat exasperated.
“Alright, alright. Then you should get some rest. I won’t bother you anymore.” Lina finally left Anya’s room and didn’t pester her further.
“That Lina girl really is interesting.” Seeing Lina leave, Iris still felt a little regret—why couldn’t she have hung around just a bit longer?
“Is that so, Iris?”
Iris suddenly felt a chill run down the back of her neck, an eerie presence sweeping over her, making her shiver.
But when she turned around, Anya was still looking at her with a gentle smile. Iris scratched her head—was she just imagining things?
“Then you should get some sleep too, little Anya. I’ll go back to my space.” Iris figured it was time to make her exit.
“Wait, Iris.” Anya stopped her.
Iris turned around, puzzled. She muttered to herself: Is this girl about to pull some kind of stunt again?
“Let’s play a game, what do you say?” Anya smiled, her eyes curved into crescents.
“What game?” The moment Iris heard the word “game,” her spirits lifted and her eyes sparkled.
“There’s got to be a winner and a loser, right?” Anya smiled lightly. “The loser has to grant the winner a request—how about it?”
“Sounds good to me.” Iris nodded in agreement.
“Let’s play a Guessing Game, then.” Anya’s lips curled into a mysterious smile.
“Guess what?” asked Iris.
“Guess how old Lina is,” Anya coaxed, “If you get it right, I’ll grant you any request you want.”
“Any request?” Iris’s eyes shone even brighter.
“Yes, any request.” Anya nodded. “But if you get it wrong, then I get to make a request of you—one you can’t refuse.”
“I don’t have to guess her exact age, do I?” Iris hurriedly asked, wanting to maximize her chances.
“Nope,” Anya replied with an innocent smile, “Just a rough guess will do.”
“Alright! I’m in!” Iris’s eyes gleamed—it was a surefire win for her.
With Lina’s baby face, guessing her age should be a piece of cake, right? She was certain she’d win this game!
“So, what’s your guess?” Anya propped her chin in her hands, a sly smile in her eyes.
“I guess Lina isn’t even twenty yet!” Iris blurted out without hesitation.
“Nope~”
“Then… she can’t be older than twenty, right?” Iris was starting to panic, her tone weakening.
“Still not right.”
“Don’t tell me she’s twenty-five?” she asked, biting her lip.
“Three guesses, Iris. You’ve already lost~” Anya gently shook her head, her face full of “what a pity.”
“Little Anya! You tricked me on purpose!” Iris’s face turned red, a single strand of hair inexplicably sticking up on her head—she looked both frustrated and silly.
“I swear, I didn’t,” Anya shrugged, “Lina’s twenty-nine this year—almost hitting thirty.”
Iris was frozen in place.
You’re telling me that the little blonde girl, just over 1.6 meters tall with a loli face, is almost thirty?
Iris felt like the sky was falling. So she’d been caught in little Anya’s trap after all!
“So… can I make my request now, Iris?” Anya leaned in, smiling delightedly.
“A true… woman of honor knows when to yield and when to stand tall!” Iris stiffened her neck, clearly miserable, but still unwilling to go back on her word. “I’m not someone who breaks promises!”
“Then I want…” Anya deliberately drew out her words, “the right to enter and leave your System Space whenever I want.”
When Iris heard this, her face fell completely, and she wailed inwardly: It’s over, it’s all over… I’ll never have a moment’s peace from now on.
