“My stomach…”
“Huh?”
The three present were stunned when they heard Liyami’s confession.
Laviniya immediately asked,
“Huh? You did it? What do you mean?”
Liyami gave an embarrassed smile, her gaze flickering as she slowly said, “Those disturbances you mentioned…I actually caused them.”
“Brother, why would you do something like that?”
Colin frowned deeply as he spoke.
Liyami took a deep breath to steady herself, then closed her eyes tightly.
She slowly lifted her clothes, revealing a slightly bulging area on her lower abdomen.
Colin was about to ask why she raised her clothes, but when he saw the mark on her skin, realization dawned on him.
Laviniya and Sifney also noticed the pattern on Liyami’s lower belly, and the three of them immediately fell into a heavy silence.
Liyami waited with her eyes closed for a while, but no response came.
She slowly opened her eyes and found the three staring intently at the Silver…
Assassin’s Mark on her abdomen, lost in thought.
“Y-You guys…say something!”
Unable to bear the silence any longer, Liyami tried to snap everyone out of their daze.
Sifney spoke first, “What do you want us to say? Congratulations on becoming a charming succubus?”
Laviniya looked at Liyami with pity, sighing now and then.
Seeing this, Liyami couldn’t hold back anymore.
“No! It’s not a Silver Mark, this is my Assassin’s Mark!”
Sifney twitched at the corner of her eye and reexamined the pattern on Liyami’s lower abdomen.
“No, no matter how you look at it…that’s definitely a Silver Mark!”
“Yeah! And Assassin’s Marks don’t look like that, plus isn’t your mark supposed to be on your arm?”
Laviniya chimed in.
Liyami looked at the two helplessly and insisted heavily, “It really is my Assassin’s Mark! If you don’t believe me, ask Colin. He knows about this too!”
All eyes turned to Colin, who snapped out of his thoughts.
“She’s right. That is indeed her Assassin’s Mark.”
“That’s correct! I already verified it. Its functions are still intact. It looks like the Magic Circle caused it to change like this!”
Liyami added in agreement.
But before Liyami could feel any relief, Colin’s next words froze her expression.
“But that pattern does have effects similar to a Silver Mark. It can easily make men feel affection toward the bearer and even want to give everything for them. So, while it’s not a Silver Mark, it’s very likely something similar.”
Colin then added a few more words.
Sifney frowned and said, “Similar? That’s not ‘similar’—it’s definitely something way more advanced than a Silver Mark.”
“Right, isn’t a Silver Mark just an energy converter for succubi? Even if you wanted to do what you said, it would have to align with the succubus’ own traits and charm magic, and only after actually doing…those things together,” Laviniya added in confusion.
Liyami was startled and quickly said, “I haven’t done that kind of thing with any guy!”
“Then that’s strange. You haven’t done it, so why is the Silver Mark’s effect so strong?”
Sifney asked suspiciously.
“That’s why I said it’s because of that Magic Circle! And it’s not a Silver Mark; it’s an Assassin’s Mark!”
“Magic Circle, huh…”
Sifney looked up and sighed.
The situation was stuck again.
Without clues to that Magic Circle, they couldn’t change the current state.
At that moment, Colin suddenly spoke, “Right, brother, Sifney and I found some clues about the Magic Circle.”
At those words, Liyami’s eyes lit up.
“Really?! What is it?!”
“The Magic Circle originates from a labyrinth called the Labyrinth of Yiqiu. Alek found it there and brought it home to study.”
Colin said slowly.
“But we’ve never heard of the Labyrinth of Yiqiu, so we can only look for clues at Alek’s house,” Sifney took over Colin’s words.
“Although I have some idea where Alek lives, it will take some time to confirm. Until then, we can’t do anything.”
“I see…”
Liyami was a bit disappointed but relieved that there was at least some progress. Better than nothing at all.
“But…”
Sifney changed her tone, looking at Liyami’s Assassin’s Mark, “I actually have a bit of a solution for this.”
“A solution? What is it?”
Liyami immediately perked up.
Colin and Laviniya also looked over curiously.
“Although I don’t know what that Magic Circle is, I do know quite a bit about Silver Marks. Since this pattern resembles a Silver Mark, I can find a way to reduce its influence. But it will take some time. Before I develop something to weaken its effect, you can’t just appear anywhere on the streets.”
After hearing Sifney’s explanation, although the problem couldn’t be solved immediately, having a viable solution made Liyami feel the future was no longer gloomy but as bright as the dawn’s first light.
Colin then spoke, “Great. Since that’s settled, let’s put this matter aside for now. Laviniya, do you want to come eat some barbecue with us? Liyami bought it; it tastes pretty good.”
“Barbecue? Sure! Let me have a few skewers too. I’ve been busy since afternoon and haven’t eaten much,” Laviniya grabbed a skewer and took a bite.
“Mmm! Delicious!”
Seeing this, Colin smiled slightly and prepared to eat.
But Sifney asked at that moment, “By the way, Colin, what are you going to do these days?”
Colin was slightly taken aback.
“Me? Of course, I’m here to help you.”
“You’re helping me? How? Do you understand magic? Do you know the Demon Race’s language and writing? You can’t really help me. Besides, when was the last time you properly rested? Take this chance to rest a few days.”
Sifney advised.
Colin frowned and looked at Laviniya.
“Why are you looking at me? Anyway, today’s incident was just an accident. Tomorrow I’ll report it to the City Guard. After that, I want to buy some local specialties and then go back to the Elven Forest. Thanks to Liyami, I didn’t spend much today. Or are you coming with me to the Elven Forest?”
“Uh, no thanks.”
Colin glanced at Liyami again.
Liyami gave Colin a sidelong glance.
“I have an assassination mission. I can’t move with you.”
“Then let me help…”
“No need. The mission isn’t difficult; I can handle it alone. More importantly, why don’t you take this chance to rest?”
Seeing all three women urging him to rest, Colin could only weakly protest.
“But I’m not tired…”
“You still need to rest!”
The three women said in unison.
