The White Dragon was known as the disgrace of the dragon race.
Other dragons, upon hatching, possessed the intelligence of a seven- or eight-year-old human child.
They even had Inheritance Memory to enlighten them.
But White Dragons generally only developed wisdom close to adulthood; before that, they acted entirely on instinct, just like magical beasts.
Yet this little White Dragon before her had food set in front of her, and she still had the mind to worry about what was happening behind her?
“This isn’t right. Not right at all, it’s twelve times more off than ten. Hey, if you understand what I’m saying, make a sound.”
Little White Dragon: (O△0)
No answer. She just looked at Gernasa with that expression.
This made Gernasa scratch his head in mild annoyance.
“Could it be a language barrier? Or maybe it’s got some intelligence, but not much?”
With this thought, Gernasa decided to temporarily lower his own intelligence to better match the other party:
“Ahem, you de, little-little White Dragon miss, no need be scared, me de, big-big good dragon.”
The little White Dragon still had the same look, but finally spoke:
(口△U)“Are you an idiot?”
She spoke, but those words…
“What did you just say?! What kind of words are those! Damn, you can talk?! Wait, if you could talk, why didn’t you say so earlier? Are you looking down on me?!”
“I’m lazy.”
Her voice was listless, carrying a faint aura of death.
“Fine, fine, just eat. Come out when you’re done.”
Gernasa didn’t feel like dealing with this somewhat annoying hatchling for now and walked out of the incubation chamber.
He was still muttering as he went.
→_→
“So weird. Have White Dragons evolved? Can they now produce hatchlings with intelligence?”
With a huge question mark hovering above his head, more than ten minutes passed by.
After finishing the ice cream and eggshell, the little White Dragon walked out of the incubation chamber.
Her body had grown a bit sturdier and she now had the strength to move freely, but perhaps because of her race, her size hadn’t changed much—she was still extremely tiny compared to Gernasa.
She glanced around the Crystal Palace, and her half-lidded eyes showed a hint of curiosity.
Then, Gernasa’s big dragon face suddenly appeared right in front of her.
“Do you have a name?”
“Say something. If you don’t, I’ll give you one. After all, you were brought here as my pet.”
“My name is Aish. What do you mean by pet?”
“Aish? Hmm…”
Gernasa felt a strange sense of familiarity with that name, but not much more than that.
“I’ll give you a quick rundown of what’s going on.”
After Gernasa explained Golly’s situation, the little White Dragon named Aish had a look of anticipation in her eyes.
“That’s not so bad.”
“Yeah, for a five-colored dragon that no one cares about, being adopted by a Crystal Dragon is pretty lucky—as long as you don’t go looking for trouble. That one’s a little odd, but does have real skills.”
After he finished, Gernasa changed the subject, raising his claw to poke Aish lightly on the head.
“So, you’d better behave and don’t do anything stupid, understand? She’s adopted a lot of your kind before, but most of them ended up getting themselves killed out of stupidity.”
Aish glanced at him coolly, then turned away without a word.
At that moment, a book appeared on the floor within her line of sight. Her eyes brightened noticeably with excitement, and she walked forward to look through it.
Gernasa took a look—it was the Magic Potion Recipe Book he hadn’t had time to put away.
“Can you read that? You look the part, at least.”
“I have Inheritance Memory. I can understand it.”
Her tone was still as listless as ever, but she lay down and began scanning the book.
“A juvenile White Dragon with Inheritance Memory, reading books? Tsk… Am I losing my mind, or is this world? Whatever, I’ll just go make another serving of ice cream.”
Gernasa, who hadn’t had his ice cream, turned to get the ingredients, planning to make another batch.
Meanwhile, Aish was greedily absorbing the knowledge from the book, quietly staying there.
Until…
“How’s it going? Hm, not bad.”
Gernasa, holding a basin of ice cream, ate as he came over to ask, instantly drawing Aish’s attention.
She looked up at the basin, drool helplessly leaking from the corner of her mouth.
Gernasa glanced at her, then at the basin in his hand.
He tried shaking it temptingly in front of her, and Aish’s gaze followed the basin intently.
Seeing this, an evil smile appeared on Gernasa’s face.
“Want some?”
“Yes~” she answered weakly, but with obvious excitement.
“Call me something nice and I’ll give you some. Call me big brother.”
He really wanted to see how the usually indifferent Aish would react in such a situation.
The result—
“Big brother~ big brother, big brother~ big brother~ is that enough?”
“Can’t you at least put some emotion into it?”
Aish said nothing, but her eyes seemed to say everything.
(口△U)I think you’re making things difficult for me, Aish.
“Tsk, fine. Anyway, just behave in the future, got it?”
He reminded her again as he put down the basin. Aish nodded in response.
“Oh right, I’m Gernasa, and this stuff is called ice cream. If you want more, just come to me.”
A gentle smile appeared on his dragon face, causing Aish to momentarily freeze.
“Gernasa… Hm… Then, can I try experimenting a bit?”
Aish pointed at the Recipe Book as she made her request.
Gernasa gave her a suspicious look, eyeing her up and down.
“You? Are you sure? Magic potions are dangerous. They can explode.”
He even pointed at the scorch marks on the ground—remnants of his last failed attempt, still not cleaned up.
But Aish showed no fear at all.
“I’m sure. I have confidence in myself. Anyway, if I fail, it’s not like you’ll lose anything. Even if a magic potion explodes, it won’t be enough to kill me.”
Seeing her expression, Gernasa frowned and thought for a moment.
“Well, we’re not busy, so I guess it’s fine to let you play with it. Make these two potions and let’s see what happens.”
Gernasa flipped open the Recipe Book, showing her his two favorites.
“Aphrodisiac and laxative? Can I refuse?”
“What do you think?”
“And let me correct you—what aphrodisiac and laxative? How crude! Let’s be proper, these are called Potion of Eternal Love and Cycle of Five Grains. Just imagine using both on an enemy at the same time—the scene, hehehe~”
Looking at the smirking Gernasa, Aish felt like she’d boarded a pirate ship.
Noticing her expression, Gernasa quickly returned to normal and cleared his throat.
“Don’t overthink it. Just see if you can actually make them. Magic potions really require talent. Even I blew mine up earlier.”
“Maybe… you’re just especially suited for making explosive potions.”
“What did you just say! What are you saying?!”
Beep—
“Damn, did you really succeed? Are you sure you’re a White Dragon? Both potions in one go?”
Gernasa nearly dropped his jaw as he stared at the pink and dark green potions before him.
Both were completed in one try, and she’d only read the recipe once.
Aish remained expressionless, showing no hint of joy.
“Just lucky.”
“You call that lucky? Something’s really off—this is way more off than normal.”
This White Dragon, Aish, was displaying intelligence and talent far beyond the norm.
Not only did she have Inheritance Memory, but she also showed a remarkable gift for the highly demanding art of potion-making.
While Gernasa was still shocked, Aish opened her mouth without a hint of shame:
“Big brother.”
“Huh?”
“I helped you make potions. Give me another ice cream.”
“Alright then.”
“Hurry up, Gernasa.”
“You little—no, wait, girl, you…”
