Gui Gui was quietly reckoning the sins he had committed in his past.
During his brief human life, he had behaved obediently and never rebelled.
Throughout his long existence as a Gui Gui, he remained as apathetic as ever, never rising to action.
So what exactly had he done in his previous life to deserve being kicked out like a ball by this inexplicable kid?!
Feeling the gust of wind pass over his shell, an immense sense of weightlessness overwhelmed Gui Gui, causing tears to stream uncontrollably from his eyes.
The thick, hard tortoise shell carved out a neat arc, spinning as it was shot straight into the Dragon King’s wide-open, roaring mouth!
Dragon King: “Ah—”
Dragon King: “Gah.”
The Dragon King choked, rolling his eyes. The roughly two-meter-long shell-like object actually blocked his throat, bulging out like a lump on his dragon body.
Wang Yu smiled and nodded, “Good shot.”
He suddenly leapt up, the Jingchun Sword slicing through the water’s surface, emitting an excited sword hum.
Ripples spread, and with his throat blocked by the unknown object, the Dragon King swung his tail violently, thrashing wildly in the water, stirring up countless waves and surges.
Most of the ghosts in the Misty Soul Forest knew that Gui Gui had fought the Dragon King before. The Dragon King could do nothing against Gui Gui’s tortoise shell, but few truly understood the full story.
The reason was simply that damned human-skinned dragon had set its eyes on the tortoise shell, intending to raise Gui Gui and use his shell to forge scales.
Unfortunately, the Dragon King was adept at marketing his divine image, fooling humans in the Misty Soul Forest for hundreds of years.
But even this thousand-year-old tortoise Gui Gui knew the Dragon King’s tricks well and naturally had ways to counter him. He would never be fooled by the Dragon King.
It was just that, though their cultivation levels were close, a slow-to-mature tortoise could not compare to a Dragon King with an inherent mass base.
Both were immortal in a sense.
The Dragon King could not conquer Gui Gui’s shell, so treating Gui Gui like a pearl in his “Dragon Plays with Pearl” game was a perfect form of torment.
It was through this game of “playing with the pearl” that Gui Gui cultivated unparalleled patience and nurturing.
After being toyed with for hundreds of years, Gui Gui finally found a moment when the Dragon King let his guard down and escaped, retreating to a secluded place to refine himself, vowing revenge for the torment.
Both ghosts knew each other’s power; no drastic changes would come soon. By the time old Gui Gui advanced, the Dragon King would have long ascended.
So the Dragon King didn’t bother with the crawling bug right under his nose. Even if this old tortoise escaped, he posed no threat.
Who would have thought he would suffer a hidden loss here!
The Dragon King writhed angrily, retching, trying to spit the tortoise out of his throat.
Gui Gui thought to himself: since I’m kicked in here, I might as well settle down! Let this noisy roarer be quiet for once!
The Dragon King cursed the old tortoise fiercely.
“Damn you, you big stupid bug! Old tortoise got in, and you still want me out? Dream on!”
Gui Gui spread his ghostly claws, angrily digging into the Dragon King’s throat flesh, turning himself into a huge fishbone lodged in his throat.
A fishbone stubbornly stuck in a person’s throat can be deadly.
A tortoise-spike stuck in a ghost’s throat can be fatal to a ghost.
The Dragon King rolled in agony, his screams echoing through the dense mist across the Misty Soul Forest.
Instinctively, he began summoning his followers, hoping they would help remove the tortoise spike from his throat.
When a ghost sheds its mortal shell and becomes a ghost-spirit, its powers naturally evolve to some extent.
The Dragon King once ruled the Misty Soul Forest through a skill of manipulation, and one day, he discovered a divine relic at the forest’s center. Since then, this bolder ghost conceived a grander plan.
For a thousand years, he cultivated, using the mist to gradually convert the humans in the Misty Soul Forest into his followers, personally forging a ghost snake into a false god.
Where else in the world could a ghost have a mind like his? He was a god! He was the god of the Misty Soul Forest!
Rage instantly overwhelmed all his reason.
How dare a tiny little tortoise irritate a god!
The Dragon King’s scales bristled as an overwhelming tide of yin energy swirled into a vortex above, pulling in all the mist as if sucked into a cyclone.
The Misty Soul Forest revealed its grim, sinister face inch by inch beneath the dissipating fog.
Everyone in the forest was irresistibly drawn toward the center, like moths to a flame.
Rhythmic drumbeats echoed one after another. Everyone moved like puppets toward the central lake.
The Dragon King rose upright, claws opening and closing, tail swinging. All the water in the lake lifted into the air, exposing the dilapidated lakebed beneath.
The Dragon King inhaled sharply, gathering a tremendous airflow in his belly.
“Ah—”
He exhaled fiercely, the powerful airflow raging chaotically through his dragon body.
Gui Gui held his breath calmly, the yin energy swirling around his ghostly claws, tightening his grip.
The Dragon King shook his head, breathing out again.
The massive impact contorted Gui Gui’s face, but his claws clung desperately to the throat flesh, carving out a long gash.
The airflow intensified, crackling sounds echoed. Gui Gui’s claws began to snap under the pressure, but he endured until the concentrated airflow finally blasted him away!
The Dragon King flicked his tail angrily, the tailtip striking Gui Gui’s spinning shell like a flying bat.
Just as the Dragon King prepared to escalate the attack, a sudden chill ran down his back.
Time seemed to slow infinitely, all scenery freezing, the splashing lake water hanging like a curtain of beads.
In the Dragon King’s amber eyes, a human figure suddenly appeared.
The person’s long hair wildly danced, strands soaring as sharp eyes cut cold like frost.
A silver arc of swordlight slashed fiercely.
“Die, you sneaky snake—”
The Dragon King’s pupils contracted sharply.
A wave of searing pain surged like a tidal wave in the next moment.
The Dragon King let out a painful howl, his body collapsing outward, his left eye dripping black blood!
All the Shendizis rhythmically beat their hand drums, tri-colored ribbons fluttering wildly in the strong wind.
Using his followers’ combined effort, the Dragon King launched a massive spell of manipulation, creating a bizarre spectacle as if plunging the forest into hell.
Wang Yu, however, flipped his sword around, stepping on the Dragon King’s face and flipping over, seizing the opening to slide deep into the Dragon King’s throat!
The smell of blood, stench, and filth mixed together, but Wang Yu’s expression remained unchanged. Jingchun responded like an extension of his own arm.
Blood surged wildly, yin energy quivered chaotically.
The Dragon King completely lost his mind, thrashing like a wild beast in a cage.
Countless scratches appeared across his crude, ugly body, while numerous arcs of moonlight suddenly burst out from his belly!
“Bang!”
The swordlight was like snow, like frost, weaving into a cage.
A powerful shockwave radiated out, the intense sonic boom causing ringing ears that lasted a long time.
Everything fell silent.
In the bewildered gazes of everyone present,
A small figure emerged from the massive, limp body in the center of the lake.
He was covered in dirty blood, bits of flesh tangled in his hair, and his sword bore the same.
But the eyes he raised were as clear as ever, gathering countless radiances.
The lake water turned into a slow drizzle of blood rain.
The mist was dissipating, revealing the bright sun hanging high, shining down on the gloomy, damp forest of the Misty Soul Forest.
In a daze, someone gazed at the young swordsman in the lake’s center, whispering, “Who exactly is he?”
A faint, smiling, weak voice answered, “Just an ordinary person.”

【Age 16: You slayed the Giant Python in the forest, protecting the mountain villagers’ lives. The Embrace of Righteousness shone upon the land! Your morality greatly increased!
Your constitution significantly increased due to ingesting Snake Blood! Your reputation greatly increased!
You looked up at the sun. Your hands trembled slightly from the exertion, and your legs felt a bit weak.
Fortunately, the mountain folk were all kind. They helped you ashore as a hero who slew the snake. You shyly nodded, “Okay, okay, I get it, I know I’m amazing this time! Come on, praise me more, I love it!”
You sent them to find the great contributor in this snake slaying, Old Tortoise. You weren’t a stingy leader; Old Tortoise had put in great effort, and how could you forget his sacrifice?
You planned to find a feng shui spot to make a nest for Old Tortoise, with people coming to feed him—a good life all around.
Suiniang quietly came over and said Old Tortoise had left on his own. Before leaving, he said you were a good person and he respected you, but you’d better not look for him.
Let the old tortoise rest quietly, or he’d punch you in anger.
You were silent for a moment. Suiniang looked at you sincerely, her eyes saying trust her.
Forget it, be more tolerant of Suiniang.
In the end, you never found Old Tortoise and could only accept Suiniang’s words as truth.
The Dragon King was a sneaky snake, so naturally, there was no Dragon Palace.
You were not discouraged. After resting for a day, with Suiniang’s help, you swept through all the bandits and robbers in the Misty Soul Forest, but still found no sign of your brother.
You sighed helplessly, feeling a little disappointed.
The villagers in the forest were busy rebuilding their homes. Seeing your troubled expression, they immediately gathered around, chattering and giving advice.
You picked up a little girl nearby. Three-colored ribbons were entwined in her hair. Her innocent face was full of admiration for you, her cheeks rosy like a honey peach.
Her childish voice saying she wanted to be your follower was so adorable that you couldn’t help but laugh aloud, defending yourself, “I’m just an ordinary person, just a little stronger. Anyone can do it after hardships.”
Your brother wasn’t here.
But it was okay. If not here, then somewhere else. You would keep looking.
With your bow, your sword, your heart, and everyone’s Blessing.
The two hard Crystal Fragments you pried from the Dragon King’s eyes shimmered briefly in your pocket.】
Wu You smiled warmly, resting his chin on his hand, unable to help but sigh, “Even the hardest-hearted demon would be moved by this scene!”
“Decided! Time to pop open a bottle of cola to celebrate!”
On the table, the Simulator continued running.
【-】 Fate Shift
【Simulator is generating evolution!】
【You take out the two small fragments. At some unknown moment, they have fused into one. Something seems to have changed in the unseen realm.】
Wu You came out of the storeroom, chewing on a bag of chips, holding two bottles of soda. Passing through the living room, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
He stepped back a few steps, his puzzled face leaning closer to the coffee table.
On the table lay a glass brick about two fingers wide.
Wu You was certain he had never seen this thing before.
This glass brick had appeared out of thin air on his coffee table!
He couldn’t help but frown, a chill running down his spine.
The bag of chips slipped from his mouth and fell to the ground with a “pop.”
