After Field had rested enough, the three of them changed into fresh clothes.
Fortunately, they had brought underwear with them.
Otherwise, Liyakade would have had to go back wearing soaked panties.
After a brief moment of intimacy, Liyakade shed her earlier tenderness and spoke seriously to the other two about the suspicious points she had noticed.
“You both must have realized it too. This Storage Ring was found in that secret room upstairs.”
Liyakade displayed the Storage Ring temporarily worn on her ring finger.
“This doesn’t match what Darkness said about losing it. And there’s no way a monster could have entered that secret room.”
“Yeah, Liyakade, you make a good point.”
Field nodded.
In fact, she had noticed it when entering the secret room as well.
But at that time, dealing with Manuel’s group took priority, so they temporarily ignored this suspicious detail.
“You’re saying… that Darkness is suspicious?”
“Yes. That secret room connects directly to this BOSS room. If we hadn’t been fully prepared, facing that Shadow Reaver immediately after falling would have been truly dangerous.”
Of course, everything Liyakade said applied only if she didn’t have Demon Bloodline.
If she factored in her Demon Bloodline, the danger would have been almost zero.
Not to mention, Liyakade’s flight ability could completely counteract the falling Trap, and after Demonization, her stats would overwhelm the BOSS.
Even if the BOSS could attack and dodge from unexpected angles through shadows, Liyakade’s Blood Magic had its own special mechanics.
Even without Alice’s Light Magic, with the balance shifting, Liyakade could nearly heal infinitely, and the BOSS would only get worn down.
Moreover, if the area covered by blood was large enough, no matter which direction the BOSS emerged from, Liyakade could immediately manipulate the blood to attack the BOSS.
So, the person who set up the scheme to frame them clearly hadn’t considered Liyakade’s Demon Bloodline.
“That Darkness is definitely suspicious. She might be trying to harm us.”
Liyakade continued with her deduction.
She infused magic power into the Storage Ring and checked it, only to find it empty inside.
This further confirmed that Darkness was up to no good—the commission was completely fake.
“There’s nothing inside the ring.”
“That bastard…”
Field bit her pink lip, realizing they had fallen into Darkness’s Trap.
“No wonder she said she wouldn’t come along at the time. She had it all planned out from the start.”
“Come to think of it, she didn’t leave any information about herself, either.”
Alice lightly tapped her own cheek with a slender finger, her golden eyes spinning as she recalled.
Normally, previous clients would leave their class or dormitory number, but Darkness provided no information at all—just her name.
Maybe they assumed Darkness would contact them directly, so they happened not to ask for such details this time.
But even if they had asked, Darkness could probably have given any answer, making it impossible to confirm the truth.
“She wanted us dead…”
Field furrowed her brows, and after analyzing Darkness’s actions and intentions, she arrived at this chilling conclusion.
“Miss Darkness… Who exactly is she?”
Alice was also puzzled.
“In any case, let’s head back first. Let’s check the Records Room at the School to see if such a person exists. If not, we can consider other possibilities.”
Liyakade suggested.
“Yeah.”
Alice and Field nodded simultaneously.
With their decision made, the three left the BOSS room.
After only a few steps forward, light shone down from the sky.
Above their heads was a massive sinkhole.
It was the faint light of dawn.
They were at the very bottom of the deep pit they had seen from above at the beginning.
They made their way up the steep path along the edge of the cliff.
Most of the monsters they encountered on these levels were of the shadow attribute.
They resembled animals in size and shape, but their bodies were pitch black with glowing red eyes.
The Shadow Wolf they had seen earlier was one type.
On these floors, hordes of Shadow Rabbits and solitary, large Shadow Tigers were even tougher opponents than the Shadow Wolves.
The dense swarm of Shadow Rabbits rushed at them like a plague of locusts.
Their bodies were small, about the size of regular rabbits, but much faster, and because of their small size, they could slip into shadows at incredible speed.
However, such monsters, numerous but weak individually, were no match for someone like Alice, a Light Element Magic User.
Alice stood protectively in front of Liyakade and Field, pressed her hands together in a Prayer Stance, and gentle holy light rained down from the heavens.
With the Light Element’s blessing, even hiding in the shadows offered no protection.
Shrill screeches echoed from the swarm of Shadow Rabbits, and soon, only heaps of black sludge remained.
“Hehe, Liyakade, Field, how was that? Wasn’t that move pretty good?”
Alice turned her head with a grin, looking at Liyakade and Field behind her, clearly seeking praise.
“As expected of a Light Element Magic User. Impressive, Alice.”
Field looked at the scene and patted Alice on the shoulder, encouraging her.
“Not bad, not bad. Very powerful, Alice-chan.”
Liyakade’s praise was even more direct.
In the game before they transmigrated, Liyakade had Alice use this very move.
Not only did it restrain Demon-kind, its area of effect was enormous.
Even if its power wasn’t enough to kill outright, it could apply a Light Element Buff to all enemies in sight—a DEBUFF for Demon-kind, of course.
If the Shadow Rabbit swarm had been stronger individually, Alice’s move might not have wiped them out completely.
But since they were weak and numerous, Alice’s ability was a perfect counter.
The Shadow Tiger they encountered next became Field’s training partner.
The Shadow Tiger stood two meters tall and two meters wide.
Though not as huge as the Reaver at the very bottom, it was still much bigger than Field.
Field held her sword in one hand, flames dancing along the blade.
Each strike scorched the Shadow Tiger’s black fur even darker.
Of course, such subtle differences might be hard for others to notice.
Field moved swiftly.
Though she was a Magic Swordswoman, she wasn’t the type to fight head-on.
Her movements were light and nimble, darting around the Shadow Tiger, whose attacks couldn’t even graze her clothes, while her sword landed solid blows every time.
As Field poured more magic into her sword, the flames blazed higher.
She sidestepped and slashed horizontally, igniting the Shadow Tiger completely.
The beast tried to slip into the shadows to reset its status and shake off the burning effect, but before it could act, a ring of light locked its paws in place.
The Shadow Tiger, having never encountered this before, stood dumbfounded.
It tried to block the descending blade with its paw, but the limb was severed in an instant.
Then came a swift, fatal slash to the throat, slicing the Shadow Tiger’s dark head clean off.
Black liquid spurted from the wound, and the body collapsed into a pool of black mud.
“What a cool strike, Field!”
Alice clenched her small pink fist, gazing admiringly at Field as she elegantly sheathed her sword.
“If not for Alice pinning it down, it would’ve gotten away.”
Field smiled, flipping her hair as she praised Alice’s contribution.
“Is this the mutual flattery part?”
Liyakade joked with a smile.
It seemed that the teamwork of Liyakade’s trio hadn’t caused any discord; instead, it made their bond even more subtle and harmonious.
After a while, the three of them reached the fourth floor.
At that moment, they suddenly heard a familiar voice.
“Princess Field! I finally found you!”
