“Xiaoxi! Are you alright? Did you run into any danger just now?”
Yeli Lan anxiously clenched the hem of her skirt, but still remembered to check on Xiaoxi.
Fortunately, Xiaoxi appeared before her safe and sound, seemingly unharmed… though for some reason, she kept holding her waist. Was her back hurting?
“Of course I’m fine. The Association had a sudden operation that needed me just now, so I had to help out a bit. But I’m just a D-rank Magical Girl, there’s no way they’d give me any big responsibilities. What could possibly happen to me?”
Xiaoxi shrugged, noticing that Yeli Lan seemed a bit off tonight. Why did the little rich girl look so nervous? Something felt fishy here.
“What’s wrong, Xinglan? What were you up to just now? I called for you several times after I got home, but you didn’t answer.”
“I—I wasn’t doing anything,” Yeli Lan instinctively averted her gaze, “I just finished gaming and was about to take a bath, maybe I didn’t hear you…”
“Liar, I went to your room just now—your PC case was cold. How could a computer be ice-cold right after gaming?”
Xiaoxi crossed her arms. Clearly, Yeli Lan wasn’t good at lying at all—compared to her, a seasoned veteran in the art of deception, she was way out of her league… not that this was anything to brag about.
But Xiaoxi really felt she was a pro at lying.
As a kid, she’d outsmart her mom just to sneak in some computer time; as she grew up, she’d spar with both her mom and her little sister to hide her identity as a Magic Girl.
Now, she was playing mind games with her girlfriend… Did this mean she’d never picked up any good habits growing up?
“Xinglan, you went out just now, didn’t you? Why not just tell me about it?”
At first, Xiaoxi hadn’t thought much of it, until she noticed the bloodstain on Yeli Lan’s skirt.
The wound on her thigh hadn’t fully healed yet, and that patch of red was still spreading.
Xiaoxi immediately felt distressed. “Xinglan, you’re hurt? Are you alright? Let me take a look!”
Yeli Lan cursed inwardly. If she’d just tended to the wound instead of dithering, she wouldn’t have been caught like this. What now?
As the saying goes, what goes around comes around. Usually, it was Xiaoxi hiding things from Yeli Lan; now, their roles had reversed.
“No, I’m not hurt at all…”
“Still being stubborn! It’s not like I’m blind. Come on, let me see how bad it is!”
Yeli Lan found herself in a dilemma.
She could take this chance to confess everything to Xiaoxi, but… deep down, she still worried Xiaoxi wouldn’t accept this side of her.
She wanted to be fully prepared before bringing it up.
Xiaoxi was anxious, but afraid of hurting Yeli Lan’s wound, so she didn’t dare grab her by force… Wait a minute!
That wound’s location… From the blood on the skirt, Yeli Lan must have been injured on her thigh?
Xiaoxi’s thoughts stalled, like a machine suddenly jammed by a stray screw, as an improbable idea took root in her mind.
The Blood Moon Witch is a tentacle-type Fantasy-type Monster, and Yeli Lan seemed to share that trait.
If she remembered correctly, her attack had hit the Blood Moon Witch’s thigh before, so…
So, could Yeli Lan actually be… the Blood Moon Witch?
After reaching this conclusion, Xiaoxi’s brain froze for several seconds. The answer was just too absurd to her—every instinct screamed to refute it.
No, no, no, the Blood Moon Witch was a remnant of the Divine Summon Order: dangerous, malicious, cunning… none of those words should describe her own girlfriend!
Xiaoxi really didn’t want to believe something so unlikely, but the method of confirmation was simple—just check Yeli Lan’s thigh.
“Come on, baby, let me take a look and make sure. You can’t expect me to just sit here and worry about you, right?”
“I really didn’t—”
But at this point, Yeli Lan couldn’t win against Xiaoxi. After a few seconds of tugging, she bit her lip and let go of her tightly-gripped skirt.
Xiaoxi was even more nervous than Yeli Lan. Bracing herself, she suddenly lifted Yeli Lan’s skirt—revealing a smooth, flawless thigh, with no sign of injury at all.
Yeli Lan breathed a sigh of relief. She couldn’t see if the wound had healed, but it seemed to have closed enough for her to relax.
Now it was Xiaoxi’s turn to be stunned. Yeli Lan really wasn’t hurt? Sure, the Blood Moon Witch could self-heal, but didn’t she need to absorb Magic Power to recover quickly?
As it happened, Xiaoxi had just done a thorough cleaning of the house recently.
She was certain there wasn’t a single Blood Pack or any other vessel for Magic Power hidden anywhere.
If there were, her sensitivity to Magic Power would have detected it, even if she didn’t find it directly.
During her cleaning, Xiaoxi never once suspected that Yeli Lan had hidden the Blood Pack in her own wardrobe.
Sometimes, the most dangerous place is the safest—Yeli Lan had tucked it away with the mementos from Xiaoxi’s former teammates in a drawer Xiaoxi rarely opened.
“You look just like a pervert right now. Haven’t seen enough?”
Only then did Xiaoxi snap out of it, blushing as she let Yeli Lan’s skirt fall, though her doubts weren’t fully dispelled.
“Xinglan, then where did the blood on your skirt come from?”
As it turned out, acting skills were contagious. Yeli Lan’s eyes sparkled mischievously as she suddenly winked.
“Oh, you’re so annoying… Do you really have to ask in such detail?”
“Uh… huh? What’s the problem?”
“Honestly, most girls wouldn’t be as tolerant as me, you know. It’s just that… my period came these past two days, and when I went out, it got on my skirt by accident, so…”
Yeli Lan’s voice grew softer. Watching the little rich girl bashfully clutch her skirt, Xiaoxi suddenly realized something, and the screw in her brain finally loosened—her thoughts clearing all at once.
No wonder there was blood but no wound, and it was at thigh level… cough, cough, she really hadn’t thought it through.
“Sorry, baby, I’ll get you some brown sugar water. So where did you go just now?”
“I went out to buy something I’ll need later. I wanted to surprise you, so I lied… You’ll find out soon enough.”
Having found a perfect excuse, Yeli Lan grinned mysteriously and pushed the bewildered Xiaoxi out of the bathroom.
While making the brown sugar water, Xiaoxi remained absent-minded. Yeli Lan’s explanation was flawless, but then again, her own old lies had been flawless, too.
No, no, that wasn’t fair. After all, she still couldn’t rule out the possibility that Yeli Lan was a tentacle-type Fantasy-type Monster, right? Miss L hadn’t sent any feedback yet, either.
Fine, Xiaoxi admitted she was just avoiding the issue—ever since the thought had entered her mind, she’d been making excuses for herself.
This distracted state lasted until Yeli Lan finished bathing and entered the room.
In front of her, she dropped her towel… Xiaoxi immediately shut her eyes, choosing to see no evil, even though it was her own girlfriend.
“You were just chasing me about private matters a moment ago, and now? Embarrassed already?”
Yeli Lan blew softly on Xiaoxi’s reddened earlobe. Under the towel, she wore the Victory Set she’d bought but never had a chance to try on.
No wonder Xiaoxi’s first reaction was to close her eyes; it was a pretty… intense sight.
Yeli Lan smirked, turned off the lights, and set out some aromatics and a mood lamp.
In the dim, rosy glow, Xiaoxi sat at the edge of the bed, looking every bit like a lamb to the slaughter.
“Xinglan, is… is this the surprise? Don’t tell me you went out just to buy these…”
“What else? I planned to make a quick trip and ran a bit, but I ended up leaking. I just wanted to fix it quietly, but you came back.”
For a moment, Yeli Lan was quite proud of herself—she’d found such a perfect excuse to gloss things over, and since the props hadn’t been used last time (thanks to Xiaoxi being too enticing), she could claim they were new and not worry about being caught.
Plus, it gave her a perfect pretext to go another round with Xiaoxi tonight—a win-win!
“But, but you said you were on your period… maybe we should rest…”
“I don’t mind, and didn’t you already make me brown sugar water?”
Yeli Lan raised the cup and drained it in one go, exuding bold confidence.
Xiaoxi kept her eyes tightly shut. The next instant, she felt Yeli Lan grasp her hand, guiding it down a piece of smooth, jade-like skin. Little rich girls really did have money to spare.
“Honestly, it’s not even your first time. What’s there to be shy about?”
Miss L had been right—Xiaoxi was indeed an innocent little chef.
She could write all the spicy webnovel scenes she wanted, but when it came to the real deal, all she could do was close her eyes and turtle up.
But Xiaoxi thought she couldn’t be blamed—after all, last time… she barely remembered anything from “playing games” with Yeli Lan!
And the after-battle replay function was broken too; all she recalled was the soreness all over.
Now, with her at the controls again, playing a round with Yeli Lan from the first-person perspective, it was only natural to be nervous, right?
Dazed, Xiaoxi trembled at the warmth under her fingertips, as Yeli Lan’s voice whispered devilishly in her ear.
“And… don’t you want to do it again? If you say no, I’m sleeping in my own room tonight~”
