Upon hearing this, Liyami was somewhat speechless.
“This is no different from usual, isn’t it? Normally, when there’s no incident, we stand by; when there is, we immediately set out to resolve it. Even though the Kingdom’s high-risk events have decreased a lot recently, there will definitely still be one or two in a month. It’s better not to have a vacation at all than to be dragged back to work halfway through.”
Hearing Liyami’s complaint, Colin smiled reassuringly: “You can rest assured, if a high-risk event occurs, other Special Event Response Squads will handle it. As long as there isn’t an event that even the other squads can’t handle, we’ll have an easy month off.”
As the name suggests, the Special Event Response Squad was established by the Kingdom 18 years ago—two years after the Hero and Demon King perished together—to handle those special high-risk incidents.
However, after the war against the Demon Tribe, the Kingdom’s senior combatants suffered heavy losses.
The few remaining elite fighters held important positions and couldn’t act freely.
So the squad members are mostly level 40 to 65. Even so, the numbers were still insufficient.
Because of this, despite the squad’s formation, high-risk incidents in the Kingdom didn’t decrease much.
It wasn’t until fifteen years ago, when the Sanctuary, the Shadow Society, and some other forces joined in, that the Special Event Response Squad truly became effective in name and practice.
More than three years ago, Paladin Colin and the current Saintess Eleanor also joined the squad.
Right after joining, they resolved many difficult high-risk events.
Then, with Lavinia, Sifni, and Liyami joining, Colin’s squad took on more and more dangerous incidents.
Now, Colin’s squad is the strongest among all squads.
Therefore, the Kingdom rewarded them with this special extended vacation.
After Colin finished explaining the vacation plans, the three present, along with Lavinia—who had just crawled out of the restroom—and Sifni, who had changed clothes, all decided what they would do for the next month.
Because of her duties as the Saintess, Eleanor must return to the Sanctuary for daily training and rituals even during her vacation, so she won’t be able to meet with Colin and the others during this month.
Lavinia planned to return to the Elf Forest to visit her family and, barring any accidents, would spend the entire month there.
She couldn’t accompany Colin and the others.
Sifni had no important matters but, due to Liyami’s situation, she needed to investigate the Magic Circle Liyami mentioned.
So most of her time wouldn’t be spent with the others.
Liyami intended to first contact the Shadow Society and then see if they had any assassination tasks for her.
Since Liyami had mostly been operating with Colin and the others for the past two years, she hadn’t done many assassination jobs for the Shadow Society.
If she didn’t take on some, her rank within the Society might drop. Hence, she also couldn’t spend much time with the others.
Finally, everyone turned their gaze to Colin—he was the only one who hadn’t said what he planned to do this month.
Colin looked around at everyone, lingering a little longer on Liyami.
“I’ll probably spend most of the time in Kit City, helping Sifni and Liyami investigate that Magic Circle, or assisting other squads. If any of you have urgent matters, you can come to me for help.”
Upon hearing this, Eleanor said with some concern, “Colin, aren’t you going back to the Sanctuary?”
Lavinia also chimed in, “Yeah, yeah. Colin, you should rest too. Take a vacation, like coming with me to the Elf Forest. The weather’s about to get hot, and it’s a perfect place to cool off.”
But Colin shook his head, “My master hasn’t told me to return yet, so I don’t need to go back now. As for taking a vacation, I’ll do that when I have time. For now, I need to figure out how to turn Liyami back.”
Liyami blinked and said lightly to Colin, “No need to rush. I’m just turned into a woman. I’m fine.”
Colin replied seriously, “‘Just’? How can it be ‘just’ when your body has changed so drastically? And since you turned out like this, it’s partly my fault. Don’t worry, brother, I’ll definitely turn you back!”
Hearing Colin’s serious words, Liyami could only sulk and shut her mouth.
Lavinia sighed helplessly, looking at Colin’s determined expression, knowing he had made up his mind.
Eleanor’s expression grew a bit gloomy but quickly returned to normal.
Finally, after discussing everyone’s plans, Colin ended the meeting and assigned rooms.
Liyami also received the clothes Eleanor had originally bought for her, so at least she wouldn’t have to wear the maid outfit anymore.
Late at night, as everyone gradually went to their rooms to rest, Liyami entered the room Colin had assigned her.
After stepping inside, she tossed the clothes she was holding onto the bed, then lay down herself.
She first picked up the replacement underwear to examine it and began recalling how it felt wearing them.
The bottom part was nothing unusual—just a different style.
As for the top, though she felt embarrassed when changing in the bathroom at first, she had already adapted by now.
Besides, the top underwear was very important.
She didn’t want her chest’s movement to interfere with combat. Also, without wearing underwear, her chest would look ugly.
Then, she picked up the clothes Eleanor had bought—a few plain, unisex casual outfits that were utterly ordinary and couldn’t compare to the cute maid outfit she had been wearing.
Compared to those casual clothes, Liyami actually preferred wearing the adorable maid outfit.
Thinking this, Liyami suddenly frowned.
When did she start adapting so well to being female?
Liyami recalled all the details since turning into a woman, and then she realized a big problem.
When she first changed, although she was a little despondent, she soon accepted the fact.
But that was strange—her body had changed so much, yet she behaved as if it were nothing.
Not only that, in the bathroom, whether looking at her body or changing into the maid outfit, she barely hesitated—only a moment of embarrassment, then it was fine.
Moreover, when Colin said he would turn her back, she wasn’t anxious at all.
In fact, she even had a fleeting thought of just staying a girl forever.
This was not the mindset a man who just became a woman should have.
She had adapted so quickly after changing, as if…as if she had always been a girl.
