On the other side, Lavinia was firing wildly at those black fireballs, trying to keep them from harassing Colin.
But there were simply too many of them, and Colin’s charging was still interrupted from time to time.
Colin had wanted to fight alongside Lavinia, but she merely gave him a look, signaling for him to keep charging—the rest, she would handle.
So, Colin had no choice but to try charging again and again, yet every time, he was interrupted before reaching full power.
With every arrow she shot, sweat beaded more densely on Lavinia’s forehead.
She was running out of strength—the earlier battle alongside the Knight Order had drained her too much, and now these black fireballs were just as endless as those previous enemies.
It was obvious she couldn’t hold out much longer.
The longer they dragged this out, the more the black mist around the “Endless Faller” recovered.
If this kept up, the “Endless Faller” would soon be fully restored, as if never wounded at all.
Seeing this, Lavinia grit her teeth, preparing to use an elven secret art to see if she could break the current deadlock.
Just then, the “Endless Faller” suddenly stopped moving, and the black fireballs frantically attacking Colin also paused for an instant before swiveling and flying in another direction.
The “Endless Faller” couldn’t help but turn to look that way, and even started drifting in that direction.
Seeing this, Lavinia was stunned for a moment. Then, when she spotted Liamy emerging from the shadows over there, she understood.
She didn’t know how Liamy had managed to attract the “Endless Faller’s” attention, but there was no time to care about that now.
They had to help Liamy hold the “Endless Faller’s” gaze and buy time for Colin to finish charging!
With that thought, Lavinia stopped holding back and unleashed the elven secret art.
One after another, green arrows appeared out of thin air, shooting out from her side and knocking down every black fireball flying at Liamy, greatly easing the pressure on her.
Seeing this, Liamy couldn’t help but feel elated.
Seizing the opportunity, she aimed the capsule in her hand at the “Endless Faller.”
That’s right—this was Liamy’s plan.
It was crude and maybe a bit silly, but practical enough.
As long as she used this capsule, the “Endless Faller” would have to focus its gaze on her, whether it wanted to or not—otherwise, it could expect to be sucked right into the capsule!
If she could keep using the capsule while fleeing, she could hold the “Endless Faller’s” attention and buy Colin the time he needed to finish charging!
As Liamy activated the capsule in her hand, the suction from it instantly drew the “Endless Faller” in that direction, and even the black line behind it, connecting to the abyss, started to loosen under the pull.
Seeing this, not just Liamy, but everyone present grew excited.
This was an unexpected boon—Liamy hadn’t thought the capsule could be used like this.
If the “Endless Faller” really lost its means of recovery like this, maybe Colin wouldn’t even need to finish charging to defeat it!
But unfortunately, things weren’t that simple.
Liamy was still feeling excited when suddenly she sensed an abnormal squirming in the shadow beneath her feet.
She immediately stopped what she was doing, gave up this chance, and quickly rolled aside, narrowly dodging the jet-black tentacle that shot up from where she’d just been standing.
Seeing this, everyone snapped back to reality—now was not the time to celebrate, the “Endless Faller” had not been defeated yet!
Seeing what happened, Colin immediately poured all his strength into charging, speeding up the process.
This time, he would use every last bit of his remaining power.
When he struck with this blow, he reckoned he might not even be able to stand afterward.
But there was no choice—this was the only way to make sure the “Endless Faller” was finished off completely.
As long as this strike landed, it would be enough!
After dodging the jet-black tentacles, Liamy quickly merged into the shadows again and sped off in another direction, putting distance between herself and the “Endless Faller’s” line of sight.
She didn’t regret missing the previous chance—instead, she pressed on with her task.
After all, all she needed to do was keep the “Endless Faller’s” attention on her; there was no need to cut off its recovery completely.
As long as she held out until Colin finished charging, even if it recovered completely, one strike would be enough to settle it!
With this in mind, Liamy emerged from the shadows once more, turning to aim her capsule at the “Endless Faller.”
But when she turned, what she saw wasn’t the “Endless Faller,” but several black fireballs, right in front of her.
Liamy’s face went pale at the sight, but she didn’t panic.
She immediately dropped to the ground, letting the first black fireball whistle past above her head, while the rest were picked off by Lavinia’s green arrows.
Once again, she survived the crisis, but she didn’t lower her guard—just now, she hadn’t seen the “Endless Faller’s” figure.
Where did it go?
Liamy quickly looked to Lavinia, hoping for a clue to the “Endless Faller’s” whereabouts.
But Lavinia’s expression was grim, and she was aiming her bow at Liamy.
Under Liamy’s startled gaze, Lavinia loosed several arrows at her.
The arrows flew so fast that even though Liamy dodged the moment Lavinia fired, she only barely managed to roll to the side in time.
Before she could ask what was happening, she saw a pitch-black hole open up where she’d just been standing.
All of Lavinia’s arrows shot into it, but there was no sign of them hitting anything.
Liamy instinctively felt that whatever that was, it couldn’t be good.
Sure enough, the “Endless Faller” burst out of the pitch-black hole a moment later, a few arrows still stuck to its body, not yet fully corroded—remnants of Lavinia’s recent attack.
Seeing this, Liamy understood what had happened.
The “Endless Faller” had used some ability—first creating a bunch of black fireballs to distract her, then opening a pitch-black hole in the ground and diving in, only to emerge from beneath her feet.
It seemed to be some kind of teleportation power.
And inside that black hole, attacks against the “Endless Faller” were greatly weakened.
Lavinia hadn’t held back just now, but once her arrows entered the hole and struck the “Endless Faller,” they were nothing like before—almost completely ineffective.
But judging by its state, this ability probably couldn’t be used in quick succession, nor too many times.
Otherwise, it would have used it right from the start.
Even so, Liamy found it extremely troublesome.
Not only did she have to watch out for the “Endless Faller’s” black fireballs, tentacles, and its own attacks, now she had to worry about this new ability as well—the pressure was almost overwhelming.
But no matter what, Liamy had to endure this pressure and keep drawing the “Endless Faller’s” attention.
Only then could she buy enough time for Colin.
This was their one chance to win!
