Colin and his companions re-entered the gate and returned to the broken bridge.
On the way, Sifney had already explained the situation to everyone.
They all knew what needed to be done next.
Staring at the black figure endlessly plummeting before him, Colin frowned deeply, finding the matter extremely troublesome.
Although he had agreed to Sifney’s plan, he still wasn’t confident he could deal with this black figure.
Should he try using his full power for “Divine Light Judgment” and cut it in half directly?
Could he do it?
If he failed, it would only be a waste of strength.
But there were no other options now—they could only try this.
Just as Colin was preparing to gather his power, Sifney reached out her hand to stop him.
She took something out from her clothes, and Colin immediately recognized it as the capsule-shaped item their master had shown them before.
Was she planning to use this to deal with the “Endless Faller”?
“Will this work?”
Colin asked, slightly worried, but Sifney only replied, “How will we know if we don’t try?”
Then she pressed the button in the middle of the capsule.
Soon, the capsule in Sifney’s hand split open from the middle.
The moment it opened, it generated a powerful suction force, as if trying to suck everything around it into the capsule.
Eleanor cast a barrier to resist the suction.
Although the pull was strong, it couldn’t break through Eleanor’s protection.
Seeing this, not only Colin, but even Liyami and the others doubted whether this capsule could actually suck in the “Endless Faller.”
After all, it couldn’t even break through Eleanor’s barrier— and she wasn’t even using her full strength—let alone absorb the “Endless Faller.”
But Sifney wasn’t shaken by such doubts.
She pointed the capsule directly at the “Endless Faller.”
As the “Endless Faller” fell once again to the center of the broken bridge, something no one had expected happened: the capsule in Sifney’s hand suddenly unleashed a terrifying force, forcibly halting the descent of the “Endless Faller.”
It even began to pull the “Endless Faller” towards them bit by bit.
At the sight, everyone was instantly overjoyed, nearly bursting into cheers.
This capsule actually worked!
As long as they could pull the “Endless Faller” out of its endless descent into the abyss, they might just be able to resolve it!
Just as everyone was thinking this, the “Endless Faller,” who had been slowly dragged toward them, suddenly stopped.
Its body, which had been falling face-down, slowly turned toward them.
This allowed them to finally see the “Endless Faller’s” true appearance.
It was a person wearing a white lab coat… A human?
It should be a human—after all, from its shape, it was clearly human.
But it emitted a strange black mist all around, and because of the speed at which it had been falling, it had seemed like a black silhouette.
Although its face was shrouded in darkness and its features couldn’t be made out, they could see the glasses on its face.
Judging by its build, this was likely a man with glasses.
They didn’t know why he was endlessly falling here, nor did they know who he had once been.
But before anyone could figure it out, the “Endless Faller” suddenly shot toward them at lightning speed.
Though its speed now couldn’t compare to when it was falling, the move was so unexpected that it reached them before anyone could react.
Letting the “Endless Faller” get this close was certainly no good thing—everyone could sense the evil aura emanating from it.
At this critical moment, Colin shot to the front of the group like a bolt of lightning, instantly forming a shield of Divine Light and successfully blocking the “Endless Faller’s” charge at the last possible second.
Only then did everyone snap back to reality and immediately assume battle stances.
Eleanor quickly retreated to the side of the gate, whispering prayers as gentle radiance began to glow around them.
Lavinnia immediately aimed at the “Endless Faller” blocked by Colin, trying to find a weakness for a fatal shot.
Liyami slipped into the shadows, ready to launch a surprise attack at the first opportunity.
Sifney temporarily set the capsule aside and picked up her staff, chanting incantations as a black magic circle quickly formed beneath her feet.
Meanwhile, Colin stared coldly at the “Endless Faller” before him, sweat running down his back.
Everything he’d just done had been instinct—if it happened again, he wasn’t sure he’d make it in time.
And from that one collision alone, the shield of Divine Light in Colin’s hand was already riddled with cracks.
One more hit, and it would likely shatter to pieces.
Seeing the opponent’s terrifying speed and strength, even Colin felt a tremendous headache.
As the “Endless Faller” backed up, preparing to charge again, Colin dismissed his shield and drew the Sword of the Sanctuary, immediately swinging it forward to release a blade of light.
Though this blade wasn’t a full-powered “Divine Light Judgment” and hadn’t been charged, it was still the slash of an eighty-level Paladin—its power was nothing to scoff at.
As expected, the sword light struck the “Endless Faller,” causing the evil aura on its body to weaken significantly.
Seeing this, Colin was overjoyed and readied himself to press the attack, but the “Endless Faller” suddenly retreated at high speed, as if trying to return to the abyss beneath the broken bridge.
This made everyone tense up—after all the trouble they’d gone through, they couldn’t just let it escape!
Lavinnia quickly fired several sharp arrows, trying to hinder the “Endless Faller’s” movements.
But aside from further weakening its evil aura, it didn’t accomplish much.
Eleanor tried to block it with Divine Light, but could never accurately predict its next position, always a step behind.
Colin slashed furiously, but without charging, the light from his sword could only diminish the evil aura a little, perhaps slowing it down, but not enough to stop it.
Seeing this, Colin wanted to charge up for a stronger attack, but time clearly wouldn’t allow it.
Liyami wanted to help, but she simply couldn’t bring herself to get close to the black figure radiating such overwhelming evil.
She feared that if she approached, she’d be melted and evaporated by its aura alone.
In other words, Liyami probably wouldn’t be much help in this fight.
She might even be more useful outside, helping the knights resist other enemies.
Just then, the speeding “Endless Faller” suddenly stopped as if it had slammed into something.
Beneath and around it, several black magic circles appeared, and as soon as they did, countless chains—also emanating evil—burst forth, binding the “Endless Faller” tightly and leaving it unable to move.
Naturally, this was Sifney’s doing.
Although Colin felt uneasy seeing the black chains and magic circles, which also radiated evil, now wasn’t the time to worry about such things.
The “Endless Faller” had finally been trapped; Colin seized the chance to gather his strength, preparing to finish it off with a single blow.
Lavinnia and Eleanor also launched the strongest attacks they could muster, trying to hold and weaken the “Endless Faller,” buying enough time for Colin.
Everything at the scene seemed to be heading toward a good ending, but Liyami couldn’t shake the feeling that it wouldn’t be so simple.
