The attack from the “Bronze” armored soldier was finally blocked by Colin. As before, a circular iron ball with intricate patterns fell off the Holy Light Shield that Colin held in his left hand.
Seeing a small crack appear on the Holy Light Shield, Colin frowned slightly. This kind of attack was both swift and powerful, and all three of the “Bronze” armored soldiers knew this move. If all the maze enemies were like them, then things would indeed be far more dangerous.
The “Bronze” armored soldier showed no change in expression after his attack was blocked. He simply repositioned his spear, preparing for the next strike.
Seeing this, Colin furrowed his brow, wondering: Could these enemies be some kind of magical mechanical constructs? Mindless, acting only according to preset commands?
Judging by their actions, Colin’s suspicion was very likely correct.
But now was not the time for guesses. Two iron balls shot toward Colin at incredible speed, but he blocked them both with his Holy Light Shield.
Seizing the opportunity, Liamie swiftly emerged from the shadows. She enhanced her “Twin Moons” with Shadow Blades, increasing the power of her attack. Aiming directly at the enemy’s head, she thrust fiercely.
Clang!
It felt as if she had pierced solid metal, sending a numbness through Liamie’s arm. Yet she succeeded in stabbing the “Twin Moons” into the enemy’s head. Seeing the hit land, Liamie quickly retreated.
The enemy’s arm raised slightly for a moment before dropping lifelessly, with no further movement. The “Bronze” armored soldier collapsed, clearly dead.
Seeing this, Liamie felt a small surge of joy. Though the enemy was tough, her full-force strike to a vital point had brought it down. It seemed this opponent was just difficult, not impossible to defeat.
Just as Liamie quietly celebrated her small victory, a “Bronze” armored soldier with a pierced left arm charged at her with its shield.
Everyone wasn’t worried for Liamie, knowing she wouldn’t fall for it. Indeed, just as the “Bronze” armored soldier’s attack was about to hit, Liamie’s figure suddenly vanished, causing the attack to miss.
Not only that, she then reappeared behind it, just like before, thrusting her “Twin Moons” fiercely into the enemy’s head.
Clang!
The same sensation and the same result. Liamie quickly withdrew, her arm still tingling as she gripped the “Twin Moons.” The “Bronze” armored soldier that had just attacked her also fell down.
With another enemy down and only one “Bronze” armored soldier left, Colin left the finishing blow to Seifnei, seeing that her magic was already ready.
Though Colin hadn’t attacked the entire time, only holding up his shield to protect the group, it didn’t mean he hadn’t contributed. In fact, he did so deliberately, wanting everyone to better understand the enemy before the battle became more intense.
Normally, their master would have informed them what enemies to expect in this maze. But due to time constraints, the plan had been to reveal enemy information during the actual dungeon exploration. Now, because of the magical formation issues, they could only learn firsthand through battle.
As Seifnei finished chanting the last spell, the final “Bronze” armored soldier raised its spear to aim at her. But before it could attack, something strange happened beneath its feet.
Looking down, it saw a red magical circle appear. From it emerged several serpents made of blazing fire. They swarmed over the “Bronze” armored soldier’s body, biting down hard on every part.
The soldier tried to struggle, but the fire serpents began to swell.
Its resistance was futile. The serpents exploded simultaneously, instantly engulfing the soldier’s body.
The blast’s heat wave gently brushed against Liamie’s cheek, causing her to blink in slight surprise.
Has Seifnei gotten stronger again? The last time she cast this spell, it was noticeably weaker. How did she level up so quickly? It’s only been a month!
Liamie vaguely remembered that when she first joined, Seifnei was the lowest level in the team, several levels below her. Now, the tables had turned—Seifnei was on par with others, and Liamie had become the lowest level. That growth rate was astonishing!
Liamie wasn’t the only one thinking this. Colin was also somewhat surprised by Seifnei’s rapid progress, and Lavinia even exclaimed loudly: “Wow! Seifnei, did you level up again? This spell is way stronger than last time!”
“I did level up a bit. I’m level 63 now, same as Eireno,” Seifnei replied casually, clearly uninterested in discussing it. She was more focused on the fallen “Bronze” armored soldier. “More importantly, let’s study these things first.”
With that, Seifnei went over to the corpse Liamie had killed and began examining it.
Liamie glanced at Eireno, curious about why. If anyone was reacting most strongly to Seifnei’s sudden level rise, it had to be Eireno. They had been close in level before, and now they were exactly equal.
Sure enough, Eireno’s expression was anxious, as if something urgent was troubling her.
Liamie knew what it was—Seifnei’s fast level-up had put pressure on her. Hearing that Seifnei was now level 63, the same as her, had made her visibly tense and nervous.
Why did Liamie understand? Because she’d been there before. She had once been surpassed by Seifnei in levels, so she deeply sympathized.
Liamie didn’t pay further attention to Eireno. Eireno would come to terms with it eventually. She followed Colin over to Seifnei’s side, listening as Seifnei studied the “Bronze” armored soldier’s corpse. Lavinia and a biting-lip Eireno stood guard, alert for any danger.
“Do you understand what kind of weapon this is?” Colin asked, clearly very interested in the “Bronze” armored soldier’s weapon.
Though the shield’s material was unknown, it was simply hard—nothing worth special study.
But the weapon was different. Although made from the same material as the soldier’s shield and armor, the power it unleashed surprised even Colin. He was eager to know what kind of weapon it truly was.
Seifnei didn’t answer immediately. After thoroughly inspecting the weapon, she gave her most likely assessment.
“It’s very likely a ‘spear’!”
