Today marked the third day since arriving at this forsaken place, and tomorrow I would set foot on the island to enter an unknown territory.
I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
Hopefully, I would meet more people and we could help each other out.
That way, everyone would have a better chance of surviving.
…
Ever since An Ling arrived here, her biological clock had somehow reset itself.
She used to be a night owl who would stay up late and then sleep in until noon.
The sea.
At this moment, dawn was just breaking.
She stood on the bed, looking out the window at the vast ocean.
A cool sea breeze tousled the white strands of hair framing her face.
The water’s surface rippled gently with the breeze, and in the distance, several seagulls could be seen, their pleasant calls drifting on the wind.
This was probably the only living thing An Ling had encountered since arriving.
She sat down again, curling her legs up, putting on a new pair of socks, then slipping on her shoes before moving about the floor a bit.
After two days, she was gradually getting used to her new body.
The only thing that hadn’t changed was her inability to accept that she had become a girl.
Every time she urinated, her face flushed bright red.
She had never even touched a girl’s hand before—now this sudden change felt strange, stirring an unfamiliar feeling inside her.
Grabbing her fishing rod, she headed to the shore.
Although the Wooden Cabin provided shelter from wind and rain, it also meant she couldn’t cast her rod fully.
That was a small downside—after all, her island space was extremely limited.
An Ling took the last box of milk and a cream bun from her chest and quickly finished them, filling her stomach.
Then she began rotating the pendant around her neck.
The small pale gold cube spun rapidly, finally coming to a stop showing a red heart.
【Blessing Pendant Bonus Activated: Fortune Shines Upon You. No doubt about it, you are the Lucky Emperor himself!】
【Remaining Time: 18h 01m 34s】
“Wait, Lucky Emperor?”
An Ling rubbed her chin, feeling a bit disappointed.
“It’s such a waste that this can’t be used for card draws!”
To some extent, this ‘Lucky Emperor’ status seemed invincible, didn’t it?
An Ling immediately grabbed her fishing rod, full of confidence, and cast it out with vigor.
Splash!
The hook barely disturbed the water’s surface—empty.
???
“Damn, does fishing for boxes have nothing to do with luck and everything to do with skill?”
Well, I thought ‘Fortune Shines Upon You’ meant I’d have a perfect hit every time, but it seems I was just wishful thinking.
Soon, An Ling hauled up the first wooden box—unlocked.
“First box of the day already caught, what a good start!”
She opened it immediately, only to find it empty except for… “A key and a card!”
She was startled by her own luck.
“Damn!”
The card was an unfamiliar blue color.
On the back, it read ‘Enhancement Card,’ and the front showed a hammer icon.
An Ling picked up the key, hesitating whether or not to open the locked box.
“Schrödinger’s cat.”
Today, with the Lucky Emperor’s favor, there was no room for hesitation—she had to open it.
Click!
With a twist of the key, the rusty black lock popped open.
An Ling wanted to pull the key back out to try on another box but realized it was stuck inside.
Moreover, the lock was single-use—once opened, it was completely broken and could never be locked again.
“Looks like no reuse is possible.”
Inside the locked box were three more cards—two white and one purple, item and building cards.
Now An Ling had a total of four cards, each incredibly useful.
The two white cards showed images of a large pack of toilet paper and a pillow.
“Alright, truly the Lucky Emperor is with me, my wishes coming true. Toilet paper is absolutely indispensable right now.”
But An Ling only used the pillow card, placing it on her simple wooden bed.
Cards were small and easy to carry—given the limited space of her Wooden Cabin and island, it was best not to clutter things up.
Next was the purple building card.
It showed only a chest icon, which puzzled An Ling.
She had plenty of chests already—did she really need one more?
【Spatial Storage Chest Building Card: Capable of storing massive quantities of supplies, a storage fanatic’s dream. Construction materials required: Wood*20, Iron Nails*16, Scrap Iron*6, Plastic*2. Rewards 3 points.】
Alright, An Ling admitted she had underestimated these cards.
None of the items were simple.
Usually, buildings only gave 2 points, but this storage chest gave 3.
Maybe that meant it was a higher-tier building?
She constructed it next to her bed.
It was a long chest, longer than two normal wooden chests placed side by side, with equal width.
The chest was golden yellow with a raised lid, resembling a treasure box.
Opening it, she noticed the bottom was filled with black grid slots.
An Ling immediately realized—this was a game-style chest!
She quickly threw some wood inside.
The first slot displayed a wood icon with a number marked in the lower right: 26.
She didn’t know the maximum quantity per stack yet, but this already saved her a huge amount of space.
Counting the slots, they were arranged in a 4×8 grid—32 slots in total, meaning the chest could store 32 different types of supplies.
Very convenient.
She tossed all her supplies into the storage chest at once, then dismantled the remaining four empty wooden boxes.
With the storage chest, who needed ordinary small wooden chests?
As for food, An Ling didn’t store it in the chest but kept it nearby for easy access.
Suddenly, the cramped Wooden Cabin felt spacious, and An Ling was very satisfied.
Then came the most special enhancement card.
Holding it in her hand, the light screen immediately gave a prompt:
【Enhancement Card: Can enhance any item to a higher level.】
This description was similar to an upgrade card but abstract and hard to understand.
Thinking it through, it seemed different.
“What’s the difference between upgrading and enhancing?”
An Ling found the usage method was the same as the upgrade card, but things she couldn’t upgrade yesterday could now be enhanced.
Even the Wooden Cabin itself could be enhanced.
An Ling seemed to understand.
Since she would be landing on the island tomorrow, she decided to enhance her backpack!
