In a secluded grove within the academy grounds, a blonde girl was cornered against a wall. She collapsed painfully to the ground, curling up into a ball, her hands shielding her head as she trembled helplessly in the corner.
Her soft golden short hair was ruffled and messy from the scratching of the girl in front of her. The academy uniform she wore was dusty and worn, and her pure white skin was covered in bruises of various sizes—an image that stirred pity in anyone who saw it, except for the bully before her.
This was already the third time since the semester began. Alice couldn’t understand why she had to endure such torment.
Being specially invited into the Royal Magic Academy as a commoner was unsettling enough. As the only commoner student in the entire academy, Alice had feared being ostracized by the noble students. It turned out her fears were well-founded.
“That’s right. Commoners like you should crawl on the ground like pigs,”
the girl said with disdain.
Her waist-length white hair fell smoothly like silk, framing her delicate features. Her rare crimson eyes shone with contempt.
Her skin was porcelain-pale and tender, dressed in the same black-and-white academy uniform and skirt as Alice.
Her long legs were clad in sheer black stockings, and she tapped arrogantly in a pair of polished leather shoes, looking down on the curled-up Alice.
“Why do commoners like you have Light Magic and such dazzling golden hair? So arrogant…”
Liyakade sneered darkly, tightening her grip on the scissors in her hand as she stepped closer to Alice.
“Light attribute healing magic is rare, huh? Let me test it. Can your healing magic restore your own hair?”
“N-no! You can do whatever you want to me, just don’t cut my hair!”
Alice begged in terror. Her hair color was inherited from her father; her mother loved her hair very much, and she cherished it herself.
“Do you really think begging will help… cough cough cough…”
Liyakade suddenly choked as if she had bitten her tongue. Her voice cracked on the last word, and she began coughing.
Who am I?
Where am I?
What am I doing?
Liyakade’s face turned blank as a flood of memories rushed into her mind.
She had transmigrated into a game from her previous life, becoming a minor henchman of the villainous noble daughter.
Normally, as just a minor henchman, even a villain wouldn’t meet such a terrible end. But Liyakade was different.
In the game’s Bad Ending, Liyakade is accidentally killed by the Protagonist Party during the Graduation Exam.
In the Normal Ending, she is sentenced to life imprisonment for attacking the Princess.
Those endings were far too unfriendly. Was there an ending where she wouldn’t die or go to prison?
There was, indeed.
In the True Ending, after the Demon King is defeated, Liyakade reappears as a hidden boss and becomes the new Demon King, only to be completely sealed away by the Protagonist Party, trapped between life and death.
Liyakade Onions was a minor noble in the Kingdom of Calderra, born with extraordinary white hair and red eyes, causing others to regard her as a cursed child.
Her parents stayed in the royal capital most of the time, leaving her alone in the territory. Even the servants whispered and pointed at her behind her back because of her appearance.
Over time, Liyakade’s personality grew solitary and paranoid. Fortunately, her magical talent was decent enough to get her into the Royal Magic Academy for further study.
However, due to rumors and her unusual hair color, she made no friends in the academy except for Irina Zi, the Chancellor’s daughter, who was willing to accept her.
But Irina Zi only saw Liyakade as someone with magical talent who was easy to manipulate. Having never experienced genuine friendship or warmth, Liyakade blindly obeyed Irina Zi after receiving a little favor in return.
The bullying of Alice was also secretly orchestrated by Irina Zi, simply because Alice had been seen getting close to the Princess Irina Zi fancied at the start of the semester.
Once Liyakade’s bullying was exposed to the Protagonist Party, Irina Zi quickly cut ties with her, resulting in Liyakade being punished and isolated.
At this point, Liyakade’s story should have ended, but details revealed later in the plot show that she obtained Forbidden Power from a Hidden Chamber beneath the academy.
From then on, she became even more twisted, secretly accelerating the Demon King’s resurrection through Blood Sacrifice, successfully inciting war between the kingdom and the Demon Race.
Neither the Bad Ending nor the Normal Ending clearly identified the real instigator. Only in the True Ending, when Liyakade confesses after her appearance, does the player learn the whole story.
Thinking of this, Liyakade felt a dark cloud settle over her future. Unsure what to do, she nervously twirled the scissors in her hand like a butterfly knife.
But to everyone else, this was an obvious threat and intimidation toward Alice. The people following Liyakade were actually Irina Zi’s informants.
They watched eagerly, hoping Liyakade would take things even further. Passersby kept their distance, silently despising Liyakade.
There is a way, and it’s actually quite simple.
Suddenly, an idea lit up in Liyakade’s mind, and she stopped twirling the scissors.
To avoid the tragedies in every ending, she just needed to avoid the key plot points.
First, she must stop bullying the protagonist so she wouldn’t incur the Protagonist Party’s hatred or get punished by the school.
Second, stay away from the academy’s underground Hidden Chamber and avoid touching Forbidden Power. According to the plot, after absorbing Forbidden Power, Liyakade learned Blood Magic that only the Demon Race could wield. Her mind was invaded and twisted, making her extreme and mad.
Even though she transmigrated, she wasn’t sure she could resist the influence of Forbidden Power. So the Hidden Chamber must be avoided.
Lastly, never attempt to resurrect the Demon King or incite war with the Demon Race. This was even easier—she just had to do nothing.
Yes, if she followed these three points, she could easily avoid a death ending. Truly a cause for celebration.
Irina Zi’s informants were still watching, waiting to see if Liyakade would really cut off Alice’s hair. Little did they know, Liyakade was already ready to put down the scissors and turn over a new leaf.
“Today, I’ll just……”
Just as Liyakade was about to let Alice go, a clear female voice suddenly rang out.
“Stop!”
It was Irina Zi.
