‘What exactly is going on?’
Sonio thought to himself as he stared at Ai Yue, who remained completely unresponsive even when faced with his direct Pressure.
Currently, his strength had surpassed that of the Third Demon King, and he had even bolstered it with the collective spiritual power of every demon in his territory. Not only that, by relying on the Dream Realm, he could even draw upon the Magic Power of those demons simultaneously. It could be said that his strength had already reached its absolute zenith.
But why did Ai Yue still appear so composed!?
It wasn’t just a lack of bloodlust; he couldn’t even sense a hint of hostility from her. In fact, she had no presence at all, as if the current Ai Yue were merely an insignificant existence.
‘No! That’s impossible! The Great Demon King who single-handedly beat the entire Demon Realm into submission and pummeled his handsome face into disfigurement—how could she be weak? This must be a conspiracy!’
…That had to be it. To maintain such a state on a battlefield where tensions were at a breaking point was like treating him as a tiny bug. She was completely ignoring the enemy right in front of her.
The Great Demon King Ai Yue didn’t take him seriously at all!
“Damn you!!”
The more he thought about it, the more absurd it became. Sonio was completely consumed by rage, his face twisting into a distorted mask.
For a brief moment, the others thought they saw Sonio’s face turn into something hideous—resembling a pig, or rather, an Orc.
In contrast to his swelling fury, the power of the entire Domain began to shrink, concentrating and condensing into his body.
“Let this strike end the resentment of all these years!!”
The massive energy transformed into a singularity that looked like a black hole. It possessed no color and seemed to absorb all surrounding light. Its mere existence caused the scenery around them to warp.
“What is that?”
“Are you curious? Fine. It will be my pleasure to let you know exactly how you lost.”
Facing Ai Yue’s bewildered question, Sonio reached out and tapped the singularity. Immediately, the point that had been compressed to a microscopic level exploded into countless fragments. Each fragment contained different scenes, characters, and events.
“Those are the dreams I seized after dominating others. They are the crystallization of spiritual power. On top of that, I have layered almost all the Magic Power belonging to myself and those demons, added my own magic, and compressed it into a single point. I call this the SINGULARITY OF DREAMS.”
“And if I get hit by that…?”
“The drastically compressed spiritual and Magic Power should shatter your mind instantly. Then, under the influence of my magic, you will become my puppet forever.”
“Oh, is that so?”
Ai Yue’s expression didn’t change, but she was spiraling into despair internally.
Shattering the spirit—that was the kind of thing that even Resurrection might not be able to fix. If she were a Player, the game’s protection would mean the Resurrection penalty would be extremely severe at most. Besides, this type of death usually only appeared in the late game and wouldn’t be a problem for early-stage Players.
But she wasn’t playing a game right now; she was truly living in this world. If her spirit was shattered, she would basically be dead for good. Judging by the scale of this attack, Resurrection was out of the question.
“You aren’t afraid at all? You will pay the price for that arrogance.”
‘No, no, no, I’ve just given up. How can someone who has surrendered to fate feel fear?’
“By the way, don’t even think about dodging. Since I can create this thing, I can naturally control its flight path.”
‘Well, I didn’t think I could dodge it anyway.’
“Take this! Great Demon King Ai Yue!!”
With those words, Sonio violently hurled the SINGULARITY OF DREAMS from his hand. The tiny black dot flew toward Ai Yue at a speed that seemed capable of swallowing space itself, leaving behind a trail of fragments that looked like premium currency special effects.
With almost no gap in time, the SINGULARITY OF DREAMS hit Ai Yue directly. A massive amount of information and dream fragments erupted, filling the surroundings in an instant.
Several seconds passed before the fragments gradually dissipated. Because the SINGULARITY OF DREAMS was essentially a spiritual attack, it caused no physical damage to the environment. Furthermore, since Sonio had poured his own Domain into the attack, they had returned to the heavily damaged Demon King’s Castle Main Gate where they had started.
Pant… pant…
Though he had been ecstatic just a moment ago, that single attack had actually consumed nearly all of Sonio’s power. He barely had enough strength left to maintain his appearance.
“But it doesn’t matter! Ai Yue is already mine!”
The SINGULARITY OF DREAMS had definitely hit her. Even his own father, who was also a Dream Demon and had once been stronger than him, had been defeated by this move when Sonio used it to punch above his weight class. Ai Yue, who wasn’t even a Dream Demon, couldn’t possibly withstand it!
Having dominated the strongest Great Demon King, he could now do whatever he pleased. Whether it was bringing the entire Demon Realm under his control or invading other planes, he could achieve it all!
Sonio looked at Ai Yue with a delirious, ecstatic smile. He raised his hand and pointed at Egrette and the others who were watching from the side.
“Now, my servant, kill all of them!”
Then, the air seemed to freeze. A deathly silence fell over the area, leaving only the sound of the breeze blowing through the leaves. Sonio’s hand remained stiffly pointed into the distance.
The group looked at one another, but no one moved.
“…What’s wrong? Move! Why aren’t you moving!? Kill every single one of them!”
After ten or so seconds, Sonio seemed to grow frantic, repeating his command over and over again.
However, Ai Yue still didn’t act.
It was only at this moment that Sonio finally accepted reality.
“Why? Why didn’t my SINGULARITY OF DREAMS work?”
Sonio stumbled back a few steps and collapsed to the ground, though whether it was due to his massive power consumption or sheer terror was unclear.
“Could it be… that your spiritual power and mental-type abilities are far beyond mine!?”
“Ah…”
Hearing Sonio’s words, Ai Yue, who had been wondering why she was still standing there like nothing had happened, finally understood.
Spiritual power was a Hidden Mechanism. It only came into play in special circumstances or during the late game. One’s total spiritual power was calculated based on Level, the total proficiency of all skills, and a series of special variables—one of which was race.
One had to remember that Ai Yue’s Level was as high as Level 120. She had a mountain of skills with maxed-out proficiency, and her race was a Succubus—a race specialized in Charm. It could be said that both her spiritual power and the strength of her mental-type abilities were practically off the charts. Furthermore, because spiritual power was a Hidden Mechanism, it was not affected by her Weakened State. The same applied to her sealed skills; being sealed didn’t mean they had vanished. Therefore, her spiritual power had not been weakened at all.
In other words, Sonio could have chosen anything else, yet he had specifically chosen the method he was most confident in—a mental-type showdown. It just so happened to be the one area where the current Ai Yue was strongest and had nothing to fear.
‘This is hilarious.’
