The Glass Kaleidoscope staff was practically designed for a Grand Mage like her. After all, mastering all attribute magic and merging them into the Elemental Magic skill meant she could use other various spells at maximum power. Furthermore, being able to freely switch, grant, and stack attributes was no joke. If used correctly, things like fire that flowed like water or lightning with dark attributes were entirely possible.
Moreover, for her current self, who could not use Elemental Magic normally, being able to cast spells through the staff meant she could use Elemental Magic freely as well. It was essentially a way to exploit a bug.
Not to mention, the staff had an additional effect of increasing the Magic Power cap, and this portion was not affected by her weakening. In other words, she could now use magic normally. Although it was quite a drop compared to her peak of over 10,000,000 Magic Power and 100,000 Intelligence, it was enough as long as it worked.
“By the way, the effect of ‘Immaculate Glass’ is…”
After confirming the first effect, Ai Yue turned to the weapon’s other special ability.
The description mentioned that this staff specifically enhanced the power of Holy Magic, and the “Immaculate Glass” effect was even more significant. It allowed every spell cast to carry the properties of Holy Magic.
Holy Magic was generally used by the Human Race, especially those in the Temple who worshipped some god or another.
However, a distinction had to be made: Holy Magic did not require faith to be used. Its essence was simply a power that countered “demons” — including the Demon Race, monsters, and the undead — or rather, any “distorted” or “abnormal” existence.
For example, the origin of the Human Race was currently judged to have evolved naturally, with almost no involvement of special powers like magic. The Dragon Race and Elves, however, were different. Among them, the Demon Race and monsters were the furthest from “normal” existences, making them most susceptible to Holy Magic.
Take Purification, for instance. Other types of magic had similar effects, but their strength could not compare to the purification of Holy Magic. This was because Holy Magic was less about purifying and more about “Restoration.”
The reason most Human Race temples used Holy Magic was simply that the gods they worshipped used it too. To spread their faith, these gods deliberately chose magic that could counter the Demon Race, the enemies of humanity. They distributed it to their followers in the form of Faith Magic, and the faith of those followers would in turn nourish the god.
As for what Faith Magic was, it could be understood as a means for a god to collect faith. A god distributed a portion of their power to followers, forming Faith Magic. It produced different effects based on the god being worshipped, and the benefiting followers would deepen their faith, increasing the Power of Faith. It was a win-win situation, really.
Incidentally, the “gods” mentioned here were not some lofty, grand existences. They were merely a group of people with sufficiently powerful strength who chose to collect the Power of Faith to go a step further.
If one were to speak of the true god of this world, there was currently only the tutorial AI Ai Yue had created — the Management God, Tasojia. Though, that fellow had recently turned into a bratty girl.
Back to the point.
From the previous explanation, it was clear that Holy Magic was not the exclusive property of the Human Race. It was simply less effective against humans than other races. This meant that as long as one could overcome that single limitation, even the Demon Race could use it.
“Use it, huh…”
Ai Yue murmured to herself as she opened her Information Panel:
[Skills: Polymorph, Charm, Somersault, Holy Magic (Sealed: Curse Magic, Elemental Magic, Mental Magic, Healing Magic, Space Magic, Time Magic, Enhancement Magic, Summoning Magic, Gun-kata…)]
Even after expanding the list, the skills Ai Yue possessed were not fully displayed.
However, the main point was not that, but a certain skill shown at the very beginning that was not sealed.
“Holy Magic… I can’t even use Elemental Magic, yet this wasn’t sealed?”
It was already strange enough for a Succubus like her to be able to use Holy Magic. The fact that it remained usable while even Mental Magic — which was perfectly suited for a Succubus — was sealed was even more bizarre.
This anomaly made Ai Yue wonder if the counter-effect of Holy Magic against her had been multiplied even further.
Still, she had to be grateful she could use magic at all. Given the intensity of being weakened from Level 120 straight down to Level 2, it would not have been surprising if she were restricted to only race-specific skills.
Furthermore, with the Glass Kaleidoscope staff, even if she could only cast Holy Magic, she could transform it into other attributes of Elemental Magic to a certain extent.
Ai Yue did not hesitate and immediately gave it a try.
Recalling the sensation of using magic during her testing, Ai Yue slowly called out:
“Holy Light Burst.”
In an instant, Magic Power erupted from Ai Yue. The detonated energy wiped away any non-existent status ailments on her body in one breath and formed a shockwave that blew back the surrounding trees.
If it were a normally used [Holy Light Burst], the effect would have ended there. But now, with the Glass Kaleidoscope in her hand and under her control, the Magic Power that would have normally dispersed back into the environment suddenly underwent a change.
The invisible Magic Power suddenly gained a silhouette. To be precise, it took on a shape like flickering flames and even possessed heat.
The expanding golden circle of holy fire swept past the grass and flowers along its path, incinerating them to ash in an instant. It only vanished after flying for a distance and completely losing its energy.
“Mm, very good.”
Although it was her first time and she could not yet change and control it at will, it was already a significant improvement.
If she could eventually switch and control every part of the magic’s movement freely, she would truly take off. After all, in a sense, this was already an ability on the level of freely modifying matter, using magic as a medium to generate whatever was needed.
“Is Sister Ai Yue doing something fun?”
Just then, Kurimu, who had gone off to play with Bululu, returned to her side and asked.
“Hah… hah…”
Turning her head, Ai Yue saw Bululu catching up a moment later. Since Kurimu was still stronger than her, Bululu was currently panting heavily, clearly having trouble keeping up.
No, it should be said that the fact that Bululu could even barely keep up with the Second Demon King, Kurimu, meant her strength was likely greater than some other Demon Kings.
“I was just verifying a few things, and it’s over now. Do you two want to keep playing?”
“Ugh… we’ve played with everything around here. It’s getting boring.”
“I see. In that case, let’s head over.”
